  1. Thank fork for that. Rovers over the line now and Tony can start his prep for new season against QPR. Rovers dug deep, and despite some nervy moments we held on. Forest have their own issues, and if the new management for them stick around, I fear the worst for Forest. As for Rovers, Rothwell showing why he will be big for us next season. Still has that surprise factor about him, most clubs aware of Dack now, however Rothwell still unknown to most. Need to patch up or defense and get some more experienced bodies in to support the talented youth. Thoughts from the gaffa, the fans and more.
  2. Wow! Not sure who those XI players were tonight... but can Tony secure them on a permanent basis for next season? Amazing! Rothwell and Dack the dream up top, Travis and Reed look like they were joined at the hip. If we can have the same urgency, energy and drive all season we could take some stopping. A bit more confidence, belief and you never know. Rothwell with the "Peter Dinklage" over the keeper sexy football baby! ? ? Kick of for Saturday Rovers. A quick debrief, feedback from the gaffa and the fans.
  3. We need a performance, but I dont think we will get one. We were lucky to get anything at Pride Park as Derby were all over us. Fortunately for us, their away form recently is not great. Hoping we can become mathematically safe and soon so we can get prepping for the new season. Chris Parson from the Steve Bloomers Washing podcast answered a few Derby related questions as we edge closer to kick off.
  4. Bah! Another bland performance by Rovers, I am with the players... I can not wait for the season to end. We need a reboot... kinda like Batman or Ghostbusters. We need fresh ideas, whether its from the staff or a fresh batch of players. The tried and trusted method can only last so long, and it appears the idea tank is running low. I am on the "MOWBRAY REMAIN" campaign and hope he has a productive transfer window to bring it the defensive reinforcements we have been lacking since we were relegated nearly 24 months ago. Stoke seemed boring today, but they got the basics right. DEFENSE DEFENSE DEFENSE. Fix that and who knows. Thoughts from the gaffa, the fans and more.
  5. Could be a match for the "Starman's" return this weekend. Nowt else to play for. Mix it up Tony Mix it up! At least throw him on the bench. Very winnable game this, however Stokes defense is air tight right now. We seem to find the back of the net in most scenarios, show this would be a good test. However thats not where my worries lie. Its keeping it tight at the back. I spoke with David Cowlishaw from the Wizards of Drivel a Stoke City podcast about this match, his hopes and more.
  6. Hoping to see Mowbray mix it up in future as the season comes to an end. Rothwell provided the buzz when he came on, seemed to be up for it, where as Dack seemed a little scrappy today. I also hope Mowbray will be brave in the summer in wielding the axe... time for some old faves too move on. Despite all that, Rovers did seem more organized with Darragh back. He has a spot in my Rovers next year as does, Nyambe, Raya, Rothwell, Travis and Big Ben. DG, Dack and Arma can stay, if they so choose. Skipper can be used more sparingly. The others I am afraid perhaps time to move on. Back to the match, hear feedback from the fans, including Dan Collins (Villa supporter), the gaffa and more.
  7. Back to the grind for Rovers, and fortunately for us we have some more bodies to throw in the mix. Bit crappy that the youngsters have been pushed back for the time being, as it was something to get excited about. Well we will have to wait till early evening Saturday to see if we benefited form the international break at all? Tough stretch ahead for Rovers, be lucky to get anything on Saturday but football is a funny old game! One man who is confident of a win this weekend is Villa supporter Dan Collins who I spoke with earlier this week, catch his thoughts, an updated form book and a shocker from the cat.
  8. Another poopy performance. To be fair I thought we looked good going forward at times, and with Rothwell in the mix perhaps we have two game changers on the field at once. Not sure if he has ruffled the feathers within the Ewood Park brotherhood. But if he has he better kiss and make up as he was a wee bit fancy out there. I was listening to Sheffield Wednesday (uber biased commentary) and they liked the look of Rothwell. Once I know we are secure for next season I will like Mowbray to become the tinker man, play some more kids, give Rothwell a go, perhaps even the Mountie between the sticks. Different formation, perhaps Rodwell in midfield, see what we have under the hood. Our league 1 formation did us well for so long, now lets mix it up a bit. Thoughts from the fans, the gaffa and more.
  9. Now we have the winless streak off our backs, and a few goals to boot, hoping to see a rebooted Rovers on Saturday. Dack should have his confidence boosted, as should Graham if he makes to Sheffield. Looking forward to the international break after this one, as we should hopefully see a few more defenders/midfielders back come the end of the month. Match build up, a prediction from the cat and more.
  10. Rovers back to their best tonight, and finally a little score settled with Cook and Co. Not many managers out there that irk me more than he does. Dack could have a bundle and shame for DG for having to be removed in 2nd half as he was bound to find a treble, however injuries have to be managed. Job done for Rovers, move on to the next one. Thoughts from Gaffa and more.
  11. Major concerns for Rovers defense in this one, as we have no recognized midfielders/left backs that can play center backs available. Perhaps big Ben and Joe Rothwell can get 90 minutes of action as the heart of our defense? Massive one for the confidence of the squad, need just a few more points to confirm safety, as I can not cope with another stressful end to a football season. Match buildup for this one starts... now!
  12. Another lackluster performance, its getting a bit too repetitive now. We are in a very deep rut right now, even times under Coyle never got this bad. Defeat after defeat after defeat. Not the Mowbray way. Well, to be honest we have not seen the Mowbray way for a while. Things could get real ugly on Tuesday if we fail to beat Wigan. Our lead over them has shrunk drastically, and could be wafer thin after the final whistle on Tuesday. Despite the one and only goal, we did dominate the Preston match however we fail to use our possession effectively. Mass overhaul needed in the summer, which could stretch to the staff... but not just yet!? Thoughts from North End fan Jordan Davidson, the gaffa and more.
  13. Hoping for some bounce-back-ability from Rovers this weekend as we have some unsettled business to take care of. I'm still recovering from the first match back in November, and I hope the Rovers lads are too. They need to man up and respond not just to the initial result, but to recent matches. We have looked lackluster and uninterested. Earlier I spoke with North End nobber Jordan Davidson and we chatted about North End's season, and what to expect in the final few weeks.
  14. Tough one to take this. Expected a response from Rovers today, but that never showed up. We did fight back only for us to collapse once again. I did read fair amount of comments within the forum, and a fair amount of folks have expressed their opinions on Mowbray. I too an upset, however I feel he needs more time. He gave the "league 1" lads a shot at the Championship, and it seems they are not up to speed. I am interested to see what happens (If anything) in the next transfer window, to see if he can add some ready made championship quality to the team, and kick on. Trouble is, we need to get those last few points to remain in this division to give that theory a go. Lets see what transpires in the next couple of matches.
  15. Hoping for a victory here for Rovers, and perhaps a couple of surprise additions on the bench. I read earlier in the week Big Ben scored his first goals in Rovers colours, hoping he could swing in to action this time in the Big Apple stadium. Perhaps Chappers might get a spot on the bench too. It will be HUGE to get a win with our up coming local fixtures, we need to settle some scores from earlier in the season. Match buildup starts now!
  16. Well my friends... that match was typical Rovers. Sluggish start, more desire midway to level then take the lead, and then collapse. Our season wrapped up in 90 minutes. However if we are honest I think a draw is a fair result, and I would have taken that at kick off no question. In this video, hear the words from the gaffa and also two Brum fans who feel a little hard done by!
  17. Another tricky one for Rovers as they gear up for Birmingham City away. Definitely a winnable game, however confidence is lacking amongst our lot. If we can deliver a match winning performance perhaps a mini run can be on the cards. Interesting to see who gets the nod on Saturday, more of Brereton or a bit more cautious with Reed & co. Earlier in the week I spoke with Jack Iles a Birmingham City supporter about their season, their chances and more.
  18. Better late than never. Always harder to get motivated in the middle of a bad run. Not much to get excited about in this match, only positive would be the desire in the 2nd half to try and salvage anything. However, we got out played and continued our shitty run! Thoughts form the gaffa, the fans and more. On to Brum next!
  19. Painful one to watch that, Rovers toothless up front and lacked balls to take a shot without the deadly duo of Dack and DG. Despite the 1st half blitz, we failed to really create anything of any value, and as its Championship football we got punished for not doing so, as Reading scored with the final flurry of the 1st half. Too little too late for Rovers in the 2nd half despite our rallying efforts we got caught out AGAIN! Still support Mowbray and his ethos, however we need numbers in the squad. Ship some 50-50's out (Williams, Conway, and the like) and add some depth. We need 2 strong center backs, wingers, strikers in the mold of Graham, but younger! Another Dack, and an experienced Keeper. Raya is good, but young! Competition breeds improvements, too many Rovers expect to wake up and walk into the team. Anywho, thoughts from the gaffa and more.
  20. Not on the "season over" bandwagon just yet, but if we are to get back on track we need a couple wins quick time, starting with Reading (Wednesday) and Boro on Sunday. Both winnable games if we bring it. Performances and standards have dropped a little bit of late. Reading is going to be tough they have been hard to score against recently and will be up for it on their own turf come Wednesday night. We got a little lucky when we met at Ewood earlier in the year, and hopefully we can bring some positivity back for Boro on Sunday. Over the weekend I spoke with Reading supporter James Salter about their season and how he thinks they can fair against our beloved Rovers on Wednesday night.
  21. So that will be 90 minutes I will not be getting back again. Rovers dyer today, taking the form from the Brentford game into this match. I was optimistic prior to kick off that we would get something today. But dogged as Bristol City are, thats the way momentum rolls these days. Win scrappy like that means something at the end of the season. Strong contenders to be well in the mix and the end of the season are Bristol City, as for us, its not pretty at the moment, but we need a response from the lads away against Reading. Teams at the bottom getting nippy, and it will be another scrappy one on Wednesday I am sure. If we can string a couple of wins together in the next week, we may get another "playoff lifeline". Meanwhile, match stats, heat maps, words from the gaffa and opposition supporter Dave Skinner from the One Stream in Bristol podcast.
  22. A few injury concerns this weekend as I have seen a video/pics with Dacks feet wrapped up tight. After the sloppy collapse last weekend, we need to the show the desire that we displayed against Hull City. If we can string a decent result against Bristol City we can sneak back into the playoff talk, however a defeat will probably leave too much to do even at this early stage. I expect a few changes in the squad, hoping to see Mulgrew back as his set pieces can be difference makers. Probably no Lenihan, Dack (a doubt), Evans could all be out. Meanwhile, I spoke with Dave Skinner from the One Stream in Bristol Podcast about Bristol City's chances and of course a cheeky prediction from the Cat.
  23. Rough one that. Can not fathom that performance after the same eleven were so slick last weekend against Hull. However, it goes to show what our resources are like without DG and Dackie boy. Nuttall still a lot to learn, looked a bit lost out there when he came on. Conway did'nt offer much. Would have liked to see Rothwell given 30 minutes, he was electric last week. Its a tough one, but this is the Championship, each weekend their will be one or two "weird" results, and today was our day. Forrest and Stoke also a bit yo-yo at the minute. Anywho, words from the fans, Mowbray and more. Bring on Bristol City next weekend.... win that, and we are back in the hunt!
  24. So no new faces around the place as the windows comes to a close. Only the starman who will take sometime to make a difference to the squad. Think it shows what a tight group we have at the moment. Credit to the gaffa. Next up its another in form team as red hot Brentford take on pretty hot Rovers. For me, no changes to the XI that started against Hull, unless injury or suspension has a factor. I did speak with Brentford supporter Dan McGee about "the Bee's" on their season and who we should be keeping an eye on come Saturday.
  25. Top notch performance by Rovers in what is probably the best showing all season. Against a team who has steamrolled their way up the table in recent months, we outplayed them from kick off to the final whistle. Jarred Bowen was a myth today as we didnt see anything of the red hot wizard today. What we did see was an amazing team performance, with standout performances all over the pitch. Hoping we can kick on next weekend, but for now.... relax! Thoughts from the fans, the gaffa and more.
