  1. Chance to end the month on a high, and potential for MOM (the poisoned chalice) for Mowbray. Oh the selection headache for the gaff for this weekend... start Holtby or not? Bench spot for Dom or not? Buckley/Travis/Johnson/Evans midfield? Walton or the Mountie... oh wait. That ones a given. As much as I am looking forward to this one, this has the potential to be a major banana skin. If we can build from the previous two matches and snatch a win, I will be elated with the points haul from September. Match buildup starts here... Late in the week I will hear from a Luton Town fan and a Rovers fan. Stick around.
  2. Cracking result for Rovers and an impressive cameo from Lewis Holtby. Mowbrays starting to be spoilt for choice with his squad, and I am overjoyed for him. A win next week will give us an unbeaten month. Things starting to look good right now for us, keep going lads. Match stats, reaction from the Mexican Rover and more.
  3. What a crazy week its been for Rovers, picked up a decent result against Millwall, picked up a cheeky wee signing in Lewis Holtby and now to wrap it up on the weekend against Reading. Build up starts here… Be sure to check out some fan input: Reading fan – The Mexican Rover –
  4. Better late than never. Rovers not their best performance especially the first half, but a cracking goal by Old Del made up for the dull 45. 2nd half was much better, and we showed more creativity which could have led to more goals but we had to settle for just the two. Match reaction, words from the gaffa and more,
  5. Woohoo... the back end of the international break is here, and we can start to refocus on Rovers. Good month ahead for Rovers if we pull our fingers out, 9 points optimistically for grabs. Need to start scoring more freely, and hopefully that can begin against Millwall. Later this week I should have spoken with both a Millwall fan and Rovers fan. Open to suggestions.
  6. Some decent performances midweek especially Gally (from the bench), Rankin-Costello (bench) Dackster, so I would like to see some minutes from all of these guys. The Mountie needs to be loaned out, as I am afraid he cant cut it. Hoping to the end the season with something against the baggies, their home form has not hit top gear yet. I also spoke with both a baggies fan and a fellow Rover from Down Under for their thoughts on this upcoming match.
  7. Bit of consistency at the back is not a bad thing. Get the basics sorted which is defense then build from their. If we can end the month without another loss in the league I feel it would have been a successful month. A free hit midweek in the cup, but hoping for a bit of magic against WBA on Saturday. Looking for a Rovers fan next week to help with a match preview... if interested give me a nudge.
  8. Back to back wins folks. Nice bit of momentum swinging our way. Some standout performances as well last from some unexpected folk. If we can keep fit perhaps we might have something here. The Williams/Lenihan combo might be the answer, and having young Tonsin in the mix it adds some nice competition at the back. Big thanks to Tom Schoefield for giving up his time this week as he offers his thoughts, and we also hear from the gaffa.
  9. We come into this match with a bit of mojo in our wings. Yes no goals from open play in the league, but the win in the cup and the boro results should stand us in good stead. could be a rotated XI too boot. Big thanks to Tom Schoefield (Rovers) & Bobby Hadgraft (Hull) for being my fans of the week. Catch their thoughts & more on the channel.
  10. Another win adds more confidence. Not been the prettiest but slowly slowly we will keep moving in the right direction. If we can get 4 or more over the coming week we should be in good shape heading into the international break just need a few goals from open play. Thoughts from the gaffa, the one and only deuce and a Boro fan too boot.
  11. The last minute Cup drama has me both excited and worried. We continue to score goals, but leak nearly as many. Hoping for a stronger defensive display this weekend (a cleansheet would be heaven right not). Boro come into this on the back of there own Cup drama, late goals but ultimately a defeat to league 2 Crewe on Pens. Middlesbrough have the tools to win this game, but hope we can find that moment or two that takes the win. Match Preview I also spoke with another Rovers fan (Dan Cox), and got his input right here. And finally I spoke with a Boro fan and got his input as kick off looms... (live Thursday onwards)
  12. Better display by Rovers on Saturday, however we need to be more clinical. Fulham taking full advantage of their one and only chance and made us suffer. Defensively I saw some positive improvements but no where near perfect. Cunningham cant start quick enough. Young Tosin was decent on his first outing. Hoping we use this weeks cup match to kick start our season... more thoughts right here. Catch additional feedback from the Gaffa, the Maltese Rover Philip Lingard and Fulham fab Matthew Baldwin.
  13. Tough one to bounce back with for Rovers this weekend, but hoping we at least show some character. Fulham also coming into this looking for a response. The word on the street is that WITH PACE we might have a chance. So if Mowbray knows his $hit then I expect Armstrong and Rothwell to start. Regardless, it would be a welcoming surprise if we can get anything from this game. Later this week. Wednesday - Fulham fan Matthew Baldwin has his say on the upcoming match. Thursday - Philip Lingard (aka The Maltese Rover) takes us down memory lane with tales of Bobby Moore and Gerogie Best against Rovers. Cass - returns.
  14. Day 1 same shit different season. When will Tony ever learn? We all love Mulgrew and Bennett, but we are only hurting ourselves by playing these friendly faces. Bench them gaffa and bring in some players who are in their prime and are recognized defenders. Can we hope these areas are addresses rapidly before we take on the big boys? Could be a nasty month otherwise. Big thanks to Ian Herbert and Lewis Stubbs who this week game me their opinion both before and after kick off. Plus the gaffa and his harsh analysis...
  15. 3 Months of twiddling our thumbs is now over. Match day returns and Rovers have a chance at something special come Saturday… and opening day win. Its been a while. But it will not be easy. Charlton have a spring in their step from promotion, but will our attacking line be too much to handle. Looking forward to this. Thoughts on the match, expected starting XI and more. Meanwhile later this week, catch feedback from both a Rovers and a Charlton fan as they give their thoughts and opinions on opening day and the season as a whole.
  16. So there we have it 2018-19 donezo! Positive mojo needed around Ewood over the preseason, turf out the deadwood, bring in some fresh ready made players to add to the mix and stick the boy up in the Alps for a week... boot camp style. Despite a topsy turvy match against Swansea the foundations are there. Buzz word around the Championship is doing a "Norwich" next season, and I do believe we can be in the mix for playoffs should the team get strengthened next season. Could be the biggest summer we have had in a while. On the flip side we could also see the back of some familiar faces from Ewood Park whilst adding some new foreign flair. Last match review of the season.
  17. Well its finally here... the climax to a rollercoaster season for Rovers. We flirted with the playoffs, we teased with a relegation scrap but ultimately we appear to ending with a secure midtable finish. Fingers crossed that we learned some lessons this season, and I am hopeful that we will return for 2019-20 with a much brighter future. Perhaps a few goodbyes on Sunday, whatever happens I am looking forward to the break and will welcome Rovers back with open arms when August comes around. Final preview... final Cass pick!
  18. Ah fiddlesticks! We could not burst their bubble, but we did give them a bit of a scare. Despite a Roversesque first 20 minutes we dug deep and caused a few problems for the Premier League new boys. I for one, hope we can emulate the likes of Sheff United and Norwich next season and surprise the Championship and sneak into the Premier League. Gaff Mowbray sounds like he is a busy bee... knocking up some air miles too. Bring on a Dackrino or two Guv'nor! Heat maps, matchs stats and the gaffa talking the talk.
  19. Step forward the party poopers! That will be us! I expect Rovers to get something from this game, but it will not dampen the spirits at Carrow Road as I feel the stars will allign and either they will be promoted by a freak result involving Sheff Utd & Ipswich or they will get a point against us to seal the deal. Rovers should play the best available selection but I would like to see a few more fresh faces on the bench itching to make their debuts or continue their progression. My old mucker Harvey Monck is back to talk up all things Norwich. It appears that I wont be chatting with him for a while.
  20. The Mowbray is way tooooooo smoooooooth of a duuuuuuuude to be me!
  21. All hail Lord Brereton... Dont get me wrong I had my doubts, but a composed finish from the gold plated diamond encrusted forward. Lets hope the next goal happens in a much shorter time span. Am I the only one thinking Williams/Lenihan next season? I still want alternatives, but I have been rather impressed with them on this 4 game streak. If Rovers escape with a cleansheet against Premier bound Norwich on Saturday they might get my vote. As for Bolton, was no Champions League 2nd legger... and in spells we looked very bland. But we did what is said on the tin. Lets burst the Canaries bubble on Saturday.
  22. Surely a chance for some youngsters here. I would love for Rovers to put on a display and continuing our run of form would be great. But I would love to see the likes of Davenport, Chapman and Butterworth given a shot. Nothing really on the line, just a bit of humble justice!
  23. Solid performance by the lads today despite the lack of fringe/youth players. For me Leutwiler is done... long live the Mountie! New keeper to push Raya is needed big time. I was a little miffed not to see Davenport or Chappers as subs, however a win truly eradicates all the miffness. Job done, another win, and could we have a center back partnership that could actually be half decent already? Thoughts from the gaffa, the fans and more.
  24. BIg chance for some fringe players such as Rodwell, Brereton and perhaps even Davenport. Nothing to gain or lose, so lets enjoy some no pressure football... which makes a change. Obviously I would like a win, and I hope we can get a much more enjoyable game than the snorefest that was when the two sides met at Ewood Park earlier in the year. Meanwhile, I spoke with Jonny Naidoo a QPR supporter about their season and his expectations on Friday.
