Graham Fenton the one game wonder. But that brace against his own boyhood heroes Newcastle was classic -

Didn't he sign at the same time as some other supoosed Scottish wonder kid (that also went on to do nothing in the game) -

Sorry for quoting myself! But after all that waffling 🙄 also realised that Ooijer was actually with us for like 3 years!! (probably spent half that injured though) -

😅 not sure you'd all class him as a 'forgotten player' but i defintely had to dig deep to remember his name. Definitely an ex player of ours that you dont hear much mention of though! Especially considering his high pedigree in the game when we signed him -

Oh god what was his name😣 European International RB & occasional Cb spent a season(or a short loan spell) with us in the 00s i think (not salgado or babel) fairly big name, I'll kick myself when i rember!! Classy player but his legs had gone? 😣 Hope im not just imaging this or got my memories mixed up with a game of champ manager i was playing at the time😄 -
Enjoying this one, bit hard to follow at times i thought, but a really top class whodunnit! In a more unique setting than you normally see on these shows. Also got through the briliant "we own this city" last week, another top class brilliantly written and acted show. Jon Bernthal did an amazing job playing one of the most horrible characters around yet still kind of leaving you feeling sorry for him a bit!

Sign of how times of changed! But as a kid one reason Richard Brown stood out for me at the time was because he was the only black player in our squad and at that time it felt to me like you didn't see many black footballers playing outside of the city clubs (and living in Blackburn as a kid there where literally only a handful of black families living in the town, so felt a bit novel to me tbh) -

Special mention also for Georios Donis, Came with high hopes, probably one of the fastest players in the game at the time (but only when running in a straight line down the right wing, but had no real crossing ability or end product 😅) Wasn't he nicknamed the Steam Train or something like that? First greek player to play in England and i think he was our first "bosman" signing as well. Not a bad player though, just not prem standard but think he had a respectable career in the lower leagues and as a manager. -

I remember Richard Brown, mainly just because he was on the first squad poster i had on my bedroom wall... Along with fatty andy morrison and a few others. We had a few forgetable foreigners during Roy Hodgson time.. Sebastian Perez (paid a bit for him and he actually seemed good but hated England and made that very clear, think he went on to have a pretty respectable career in the game abroad) Anders Anderson (only played a few games but won a lot of caps for sweden) Martin Dahlin obviously (seriously top quality striker but we bought him when he had one foot in the knackers yard) Stephen Henchoz (he and Hendry were probably one of the best defensive pairings we've had in the Premier league era onwards sadly they only had one season together) Oumar konde (shit player but pretty good on champ manager🤷♂️) Patrick Valery (servicable rb but the most cliched sulky french man you could picture) Tore Pedersen (another one of Roys scandy signings that had a ton of international caps, but i don't even think he played a game for us) Oh and not a foreigner but Roy Hodgson spent about 500k to sign him as a very young kid with a reputation of havingvhuge potential as a rw, think he broke his leg not long after and I don't think he ever played a game for us sadly... Jimmy Corbet. -
Ahh right, obviously i recognise the name and know he's a legend to those of his generation and was a great servant to the club. But sadly he's a bit before my time though really so I wouldn't have recognised a photo of him from adam (especially a photo of him as a kid before even his rovers days by the looks of it) Thanks though, nice bit of nostalgia and you really do learn something knew everyday dont ya, chers👍

Unless bbd is sold I'm now just expecting the window to quietly petter for us with maybe just attempts at signing a couple of so so players to fill a couple of squad numbers. Even if bbd is sold now I don't think we'll see any serious attempt to replace him in this window *sorry I'm feeling a little flat about the clubs shenanigans(or lack of) today 😄
