  1. I always remember some of the players Souness brought in when he arrived and paid relatively large sums for in the championship that came with a lot of hype but went on to be pretty average at best for us (I'm thinking per frandsen, craig hignett and a few other squad players) but in the end it was mainly our home grown players that got us promoted
  2. Wasn't even in the squad again today was he!? Another suspension or is it an injury this time? Either way stuff him and I'm glad theyre doing sheeite with that manager that some on here thought was the bees dodaas
  3. Keith Andrews #2 πŸ™ˆ hopefully there will be more to come from him in the future...
  4. But we're not! Sounds like the first half was pretty much a no show from both teams (happens often to all clubs after a longish break) 2nd half sounds like we turned up the tempo but still made it a little hard for ourselves. But 3 points is 3 pointsπŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰
  5. On paper theres just no real natural creativity in that squad aside from Hedges who is being played way out of position, when you see all the players available to him in the squad I'm just not seeing much logic in JDTs team selections and its getting harder to defend! (cant argue with the back 3 though, although you could argue we're better with a back 4)
  6. Southgate is just pathetic and the whole England setup from top to bottom is sheeeiiiiiiite, has been since Venables left. English players are molly coddled media minded wet lettuces first footballers second.
  7. Damn the new Jef Dalmer show on netflix is a tough watch(as you should expect i suppose) even though so far at 4 eps in it's really not been very graphic at all I've been a fan of the actor Evan Peters for a while, just so versatile and charismatic even though he doesn't particularly look like your average Holywood leading man, he's obviously played dark roles before on the "American horror show" but usually a bit tongue in cheek on there, with this he's just as dark and bleak as they come though. Definitely not a show for everyone! But it is very well made and acted, it also gives you a very uncomfortable insight into the mind of one of the sickest serial killers ever
  8. Never thought I'd say this! And tbh I could barely give a πŸ’© about the England team(as it has become in the last 20 years) But bloody hell just Give Shaun Dyche the England job now they need a real manager
  9. Jeez the state of those footballs though! Really was hit and hope, no acuracy with them at all. Would be fascinating to see how the players of times gone by would have got on with a modern football
  10. Seriously though how much money did hodgson and kidd piss up the wall! The only thing i can say in their defence was that selling clubs just knew we had money and where desperate for players after the dalglish era squad faded away, but whoever was doing our transfer negotiations at the time was shockingly bad. At least the players Dalglish paid big money for where mostly quality and we got our money back when they where later sold
  11. Anyone remember some bloke named Kevin Davies? Only a young lad with very little prem experience, don't think we paid much for him
  12. Possibly, i just remember there was one point where we got a flash of his old quality
  13. thought I did a week or 2 ago via the 'contact admin' link in the thread but no response. not an issue though, just thought it was funny
  14. Just watching the Armie Hammer/Hammer family Doc on Discovery+ Nothing ever really shocks me about what these Billionaire families get up to, think Succession but far more seedy, violent and depraved. Also seen on the news that Adnan Syed was actually realised from prison this week after having his conviction over turned after 20 years, I listened to the brilliant serial podcast years ago and theres a few good tv docs covering it as well, really fascinating story for the true crime buffs, seeing him get released is almost the same as at would be to see the 'making a murder' pair get released (only theres strong evidence that Adnan was genuinely innocent and a decent young person, unlike the trailer park MAM pair!)
  15. I guess this thread is only for select members to join then! πŸ™„
  16. I do have a vague memory of him scoring one really good goal for us πŸ€” EDIT! actually no don't seem find any record of him scoring for us. maybe it was just one good fowler esque shot on goal that just missed the back of the net on one of his few appearances
  17. If BB had have signed a new long term deal 2 years ago before he became BBD very few would have been that happy about it at the time, hindsight is a bugger
  18. Not at all, i thought he always did a solid job!! I just don't remember him being the same type of defender as you do! But my memory isn't always the best, it was a looong time ago
  19. Good pace! Really. Pace is Never something that springs to mind when i think of Sutton You must have watched a lot of Norwich then because there's no way you could judge that from the few cameos he played back there for us
  20. Defenders where still allowed to have a battle and get stuck with real tackles then, plus most clubs still played a lot of long balls and crosses so if you where a big tall tough lad with good heading abilty you where already 2 thirds the way to being a good Premier league cb Sorry ive not read the entire thread though so I'm not sure where this playing Ashley Phillips up front daftness is coming from
  21. I'm pretty sure most fans will have recieved a bit of a boost from reading he's signed a pro deal with us (and not sold his soul to a "big prem club") With results being so inconsistent lately I'm happy for any good news to help keep morale up. P.s. πŸ₯±πŸ₯±πŸ₯±
  22. Pretty sure most people would still just call it the Riverside anyway regardless... (i know i would) Also at some point for certain in the next 10 years or so! it really will have to be replaced anyway Not sure whT you mean by it sounding soulless though, thats just a bit namby pamby. It's called tge Riverside simply because the river runs behind it, just as people will always call tge darwen end "the darwen end" because it has its toes in darwen
  23. That is absolutely pathetic. That's not even "cheesy nachos" it's half a packet of doritos with about 2 pence worth of (probably fake) cheese sprinkled on top. Please tell me nobody on here paid for that!
