One key thing that JDT said numerous times when he joined was basically that 'he wanted us to play attacking possession based football, BUT that the possession had to have some real intent to it and not just be knocking the ball about aimlessly in our own half just for the sake of it' Just not what we're seeing though at all! 😞 i wouldn't even say we're playing attacking football of any kind judge by our average shots on target per game... He inherited a squad mostly full of mid table championship players and with no real experienced quality pros aside from Ayala. Our summer transfer window was lame aside from Hyam and Brittain(although brittain still has a lot to prove)

One more performance like that and the manger/head coach really will need to take it riggt back to basics tactically, because our current players just don't have the ability or intelligence to play clever tactics and strategies. Why is Tomasson making the same mistakes as Mowbray!? Ie. Drastically changing winning formations and starting 11s, TRYING to be to clever tactically (when "clever tactics" really aren't necessary in this league!) So bloody frustrating. That said! Bent must clearly have been as much as a head case when he was a player as he has been in "retirement" just google his post football career shenanigans! Have to show him some empathy it does seem he's had long standing mental health issues which he's been self medicating for with alcohol & cocaine

Brilliant shot stopper but i remember him getting criticism for being a fairly quiet keeper and not organising his defenders well enough, Alan Kelly then came in as competition for him... Kelly was the opposite, all mouth but a very very average keeper... Friedel followed those 2 and the rest is history

Actually yeh i think Frandsen was brought in just before Souness came, i think frandsen had scored a lot of goals in the championship the season before, so he came highly regarded, but did very little for us, think possibly berkovic came in and claimed that attacking mid role (or have i got the wrong season again🤔😅)

Hignett scoref the odd goal for us but was mostly just another gobby scouser that liked to point
