  1. I think young players promote themselves if they really are good enough When you get managers/coaches forcing young players into the first team just for the sake of it you end up with squads full of shite like jason lowe
  2. Just having a quick read up on Beale (who id never heard of before) sounds like a brilliant coach, assistant manager , but so where Brian Kidd, Ray Harford, Steve Kean(😘) so it would be a very big gamle and I'm guessing a very expensive one as we'd likely have to pay avery high salary plus compensation to villa and he's on a high salary there so that wouldn't be cheap! P. S. Bloody hell theres a lot of sad he said/she said bickering on her for a sunday morning.
  3. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/fresh-carlos-carvalhal-update-shared-after-links-with-blackburn-rovers-job/ guessing he'll be going to whoever offers the most money then. No self respecting manager(or player) goes to vile places like uae unless money and a flash lifestyle is their only interest.
  4. Have we really just forcibly willed ourselves into believing Carvalhal would be our saviour and is the best available man for the Job? (Especially now that talk of Farke has gone stone cold the past couple of weeks) I'm not knocking him! Id be just as excited as most to see what he could do with our squad(with a few to the first team player additions) and yes he seems a charismatic and nice positive person. But I've a few "buts" .... His journeyman career can't be ignored, most of that being at average(at best) clubs and although he's known for getting a lot out of the players at his disposal he really hasn't actually won much of anything, So maybe it seems he just doesn't have that extra bit of determination needed to win things and get teams over the line when it really matters. Also I think he talks a very good game as far as tactics and sports science goes, but talk doesn't win you games, you need intelligent players that can make his tactics happen on the pitch and I'm not sure our current squad are the brightest bunch in that respect. The fact he's allegedly also mulling over returning to the UAE I personally find dubious, because i think only mercenaries after a good payday and a cushy lifestyle go to horrid places like that in football. His transfer dealings in general seem pretty slapdash from what I can see. I recall Glen Mullan being very against the idea of Carvalhal the day his name first appeared on this board and I think many initially shared that sentiment at the time. I'd be very happy with him being appointed of course, he is something different to any manager we've had in the past in my lifetime(possibly aside from Roy Hodgson) but personally I don't see him being a massive improvement over Mowbray, Just a fresher more likeable one, which to be fair could be all we need right now. sorry for rambling, just thinking out loud (and playing devils advocate a little) πŸ™ˆ
  5. I hope we can finally atract a fairly exciting manager like Carvalhal! But flippin eck your setting yourself up for major dissapointment putting all your hope on him specifically.
  6. I know this will get shot down, but I'm suprised Solskjaer hasn't had a mention
  7. Needless to say that if he's heavily involved in the "Interiew" process then we can automatically rule out the top half a dozen names from the fans choice for next manager. Hopefully his duties during process are t just serve the tea & biscuits.
  8. Errr yes there is! There's peopleπŸ™„ that say shit that they've blatantly just made up to suit their own agenda, but try to make it sound like theyre "in the know"
  9. Why? I've no opinion of him one way or the other and i think it's the first time ive seen his name pop up since his short lived Newcastle spell in the 90sπŸ˜…πŸ˜… He seems to be doing very well as Malmos head coach though, although i imagine malmo dont have much in the way of competition at league level, but he's also had a good run in the champions league with them, so id say he does seem to have something about him as a relatively young manager. But reading between the lines your response suggests to me that you know something more specific about him to make him one to avoid
  10. Well aside from Farke as obvious top choice for fans.. This poll begs to diifer from lancs bloody live! I mean seriously whT unrealistic numbskulls are genuinely voting for Shearer!
  11. Having one of the family based at the club can only be a good thing as he came with the right attitude and a willingness to listen and learn(from the right people!)
  12. Just came on hear to suggest that maybe Stuart Pearce could be a contender for manager as he's just left his coaching job at west ham stating he's looking at other opportunities and challenges.... Then come on hear to see talk linking him to the dof role πŸ€”πŸ€” The dof role is still abit of a mystery to me until somebody from the club states what precisely that role is going to entail!! As for Pearce πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ defintely not management material but since retiring as a player he has aquired a lot of experience that could make him a big asset behind the scenes, plus having a passionate no nonsense character like pearce at the club would instantly be an improvement! P. S. It would also be great to have Brad Friedel back at the club, but the role would have to be right!
  13. out of work managers in farke and carvalhos league will be waiting to see how everything pans out in the leagues around europe and afar.... Before drawing up there own shortlists!
  14. He's on my B list if that counts πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I say B list! Really my b list should be a C or D list. But there aren't any names that id consider B level really. There's basically a few "A" list candidates (none of which I think would choose to join us) and then a ton of C&D list names but nothing inbetween.
  15. Just like most multi million pound businesses then πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ and defintely like most other professional football clubs since sky first took control. sad but true
  16. Yeah, the morei think of it themore ridiculous it seems! No way wasa 3 day event going to work here, even if they'd added a few slightly more current pop acts. Also as someone living with earshot of every sylabol that comes from the speakers at ewood.. I wouldn't normally be a pRty pooper but it would have started to really wear me down after 1 day of having to hear it (not to mention the increased traffic & parking issues)
  17. Tbf they have very good reason to be depressed and maybe a bit peed off at the moment. But once the dust settles at least they'll be in a very good position to challenge for an automatic promotion. Can see Farke or one of our other top choice available managers taking over there soon as well (just to add to our woesπŸ˜…)
  18. They'd probably have done better to just make it a one day event this year and cut out most of the chaff performers
  19. https://summer-fest.co.uk/#:~:text=It is with great sadness,22 at Ewood Park%2C Blackburn. Alright! So not so specific, just not enough interest and tkt sales to cover costs I'm guessing. Tbh looks pretty lame line up anyway unless your music tastes are mainly cheesy mid 80s pop music
  20. I rember there was a specific reason given at the time of cancellation. Cant remember what it was though sorry
  21. I just can't read anymore of this depressing wifflewaffle (whether it's true or not)
  22. God I hope we get something positive to talk about this week πŸ™πŸ™
