  1. I got the previous two Rovers games on ESPN+; sadly, not today. I get Preston/Burnley
  2. This game is a tremendous challenge. Getting some defenders back, we will need them. The midfield is where we need the most improvement, imo. Another of our toughest foes, it’s at home, but I am afraid that’s not enough, 1-2.
  3. I don’t have a “vote” in this discussion. But, as an American, I think it respectful fans could come to a public place and offer silent prayer, or a minutes silence/reflection. She was a fine lady & leader, served a long time with dignity, & honored her country well.
  4. So, Wharton & Ayala back in training, & Szmodics cleared to play. That’s a huge boost to our defending, & gives us an option in midfield. This might be our best squad yet. The heck with it, if we’ve got any hopes to be in playoffs this season, this is one we’ve got to win. 1-3. If it is played.
  5. This Mola must be the footie equivalent of Chuck Norris. Interviewer: “Mola, what position do you play?” Mola: “All of them.”
  6. From an American point of view… my last year to buy season tickets for University of Texas football (collegial tackleball, ha!) was 2015. I think they were $450 for six games. I live 100 miles from the stadium. It got to where it wasn’t fun anymore. Most of my friends who I had been going to games to see, had got too old, no longer cared as much, etc. I’m still a fan, I just don’t go to the stadium. They don’t miss me, they sell 98,000 tickets a game, regardless of whether I’m there, or not. So, I entirely understand anybodys reasons for not going… money, time, time away from family, etc. No, I wouldn’t go this weekend if you paid me (Texas/Alabama). Texas is going to get a royal butt-kicking, and I don’t really care to witness it in person.
  7. Correct! January 1, 2007, Rovers gave them a 3-0 thrashing, courtesy of Heskey og, Matt Derbyshire’s strike at 58’, & Benni McCarthy’s Pk at 76’. The good ol’ days under Mark Hughes…
  8. I want to forget about this, it’s Wigan to look forward to now
  9. Bah I guess we shouldn’t expect much, with three-fourths of our defenders out
  10. Nothing going on here. Might as well start thinking about the trip to Wigan.
  11. Wells has given us trouble on the past. No surprises here.
  12. Anybody hurt during game vs tangerines? Otherwise, I stay with that 11. 1-0, COYB!
  13. The bottom line for me… Tomasson is an improvement over “Shrug” Mowbray. The players we have now, as contrasted to who we had in August 2022… I think we got a couple of strong acquisitions that are a better fit to Rovers, and we’ve had a couple of guys develop from our Academy. I’m looking forward to the weekend, and the rest of the season. This journey so far is enjoyable, I can’t wait to see what develops.
  14. They’re sitting 19th, but their players aren’t that bad. I guess they feel Styles can help them into playoff places by seasons end.
  15. It is alarming to me, too. I think the only way he considers it, is if Rovers promote. What are the chances of that, <15%?
  16. Option to buy on loaners is good. I’m content, I guess. I will be moreso, when Scotty Wharton returns, & Britain.
  17. I definitely prefer to keep him. I think most of our fans do too, we just don’t want to see him walk, Ala, Nyambe, Rothwell, Lenihan
  18. I worry… I worried about Nyambe, Lenihan, & Rothwell, too. I won’t bother to read back over 700 pages of this thread, but somebody told me not to worry, we wouldn’t lose him on a free. yeah. Right. Stuff that doesn’t happen at responsible clubs, seems to happen at ours all the time.
