  1. I don’t see these subs as being the answer; maybe Dolan will play with some fire.
  2. I honestly cannot see any positives today. We will be in total rebuild mode in the summer... maybe we ought to be.
  3. So, all the hopeful talk by Mowbray on Arma & Trav was empty talk. Our alignment looks better on bbc, Elliott on wing, Brereton in the middle, but Gally on wing, no way.
  4. I might be naive, but I consider TM is out, regardless. He’s had plenty of time to get this team to where he says it should be. By his own standard, he’s failed to accomplish the mission. I also think a strong finish to the season benefits our younger players... as long as they are used regularly.
  5. Seriously, in these final eight games, we should take points in at least six of them. The only two I do not expect at least a point, are Cardiff & Bournemouth. TM: “... we also have to win this next football match.” Three wins & three ties, at least. Then I will worry about TM’s fate. Nothing will happen until after the seasons final whistle, anyway.
  6. I will say, I was looking forward to seeing Dacky getting up to speed the rest of the way, then his second debilitating injury in two years. But, it’s become kinda fun to anticipate the next goal from Gally; we haven’t expected him to score, but since he’s been playing his more natural position, he’s up to six goals. Not great, I know, but it’s fun when he hammers/lofts/heads in a goal... usually, off a great feed from Elliott.
  7. it will probably be a sluggish, 2-1 victory for our Rovers. Not that proves anything; any result other than a win, should not be tolerated.
  8. All I saw was Haaland did NOT score. Annesley must’ve had a good game.
  9. Yep...Danny boy scored, then ManUre had to bring in Zlatan & Pogba to win it
  10. We will pick up several loose points now, playing the catfish teams of the division. Making Rovers appear better than they are, but we still won’t get enough to finish higher than 12th.
  11. Well-won point, well-deserved. Great job, lads!
  12. If Tony plays him, he will score😂
  13. This is really been a good effort so far today, just need to play it more forward, and find somebody, anybody, who can finish. Rovers not winning possession for once, but still have more shots on goal (albeit, a couple from long range).
  14. Meanwhile, Forest got a point vs Brentford. Surprising, really. Toney scoring on a pk was not a surprise, though.
  15. Yes, I have much more confidence in our defenders, but they are going to be really busy today.
  16. Unreal. Why would he want to start the guy, is beyond me.
  17. It will be interesting to see his starting 11 today- it should be fairly easy, TM knows by now who gives 100% and who looks like they’d rather stay on the bus.
  18. I wasn’t a fan then. I know they were a PL team when bought, but I also know that is no magic formula to making money... buying an English football team can be a very costly hobby, despite the prestige of ownership. The figures I just checked (2017-2018), 7 clubs lost money, before taxes, & 3 basically broke even. So, essentially half the PL clubs don’t make money. Having a team in the Championship, is very expensive. I would assume losses since 2012 are upwards of £300 mil. If anyone has Rovers’ bottom-line figures since 2001, I’d be interested to see them.
  19. Y’know, I don’t understand the owners at this level. When they bought the team, were they not just a little bit fans of the club? Maybe I’m assuming that they don’t care about the game to game fortunes of Blackburn Rovers, but it just seems to me they could’ve bought any number of clubs and not paid any attention to them. The Rao’s are astute at business, right? Surely, they knew buying an EFL club wasn’t going to result in added millions to their coffers. If I cared enough to invest £22 mil (I think that was the purchase price), I would certainly want to share in its joys/heartaches, as I would assume I was not going to make any money off Rovers.
  20. If this happens, I am afraid to see TM post-game, grinning like a gargoyle. Even our relegation season, Rovers offed champs Newcastle, by identical 1-0 scores. Small consolation.
  21. During our recent, poor run of results (since February 6), we are 1-3-7. Thats 6 points of 33 possible. Rovers have scored a puny 8 goals, and incredibly, only allowed 13. During the month of March, we were 1-2-2. Five points out of 15. Rovers defence allowed only three goals, never two in one game, not terrible defending. Tomorrow will be a heroic effort, alas, to fall short, 0-1. The lads are trying, the effort is there, but they aren’t getting any help from TM & staff. If ever there was a team giving a great effort, without receiving much direction, it’s this one. Sad state of affairs, indeed.
