  1. As good a footballing side as Man City are they just leave me absolutely cold. There is nothing natural about them they are just a Frankenstein's Monster of a club whose success stems from the money of one man who has been to watch them once throughout the entire duration of his ownership. At least when the likes United & Liverpool were successful you could dislike them, with City I just feel a complete apathy towards them with the occasional thanks that they have stopped a mass Liverpool love in within the media. When they got handed the league title the other week we had the surreal experience of watching the Chief Executive of the Premier League handing out the title and medals to City whilst he is Chief Executive of the organisation who allege 115 counts of rule-breaking against City. It's a shame really to see Guardiola wasting his talents on such a plastic project.
  2. Bellamy at Portsmouth in whatever season it was he played for us. The finest performance I have seen in a Rovers since Shearer. There are so many Friedel performances I can think of but the one that stands out for me was Souness' last game in charge at home to Man Utd he was sensational that day and robbed of a clean sheet by Alan Wiley missing a blatant handball to set up their last minute equaliser.
  3. He was never going to be at Leeds next season even if they stayed up. The Leeds job was an ideal few weeks work for him to top up to his retirement fund.
  4. Friedel Berg England Nelsen Newton Douglas Clayton Tugay Duff Shearer McCarthy
  5. The problem for Leeds is they will struggle to shift them because simply put the players aren't very good.
  6. The only club to worry about if they get their act together is Leicester other than that there is absolutely nothing to fear.
  7. Not if they want to get back to the success they have under Abramovich's ownership.
  8. As a bloke Darren Moore always comes across as a real gentleman but as a football manager he isn't very good. Sheffield Wednesday have some good players but they just play turgid long ball football. Without a change of manager they will be battling down at the wrong end of the table.
  9. Leeds must be still ruing the day they sacked Bielsa, he had worked miracles there and at his first real bump in the road was sacked. It will be a few years at they very least until they are back in the Premier League. As for Leicester they must be ruing sticking with the myth that is Brendan Rodgers for far too long this season.
  10. Wasted his talent? Man Utd's record goal scorer England Captain England's 2nd highest ever scorer (highest when he retired) 5 Premier League titles A Champions League Winner Scorer in a Champions League Final 3rd all time Highest Premier League scorer 3rd most assist's in Premier League history An FWA & PFA player of the year winner Multiple appearances in PFA team of the year
  11. He doesn't write it but they are his thoughts and they are often very good pieces. For a recent example his breakdown of the Madrid City tie in advance of it was spot on.
  12. If we were to appoint someone with a Man Utd connection then it should be Wayne Rooney he has a very impressive football brain. I think he's got the potential to be a very good manager.
  13. Ironic that you talk about keeping with the same style yet you were one of Mowbray's biggest backers and he changed style every season.
  14. Frank always come across as a pretty intelligent chap you'd think he would have more sense than to go near Levy or Spurs.
  15. Shocking negotiating and from the same people who the previous summer agreed for Newcastle to have 40% of any Armstrong profit.
  16. Tyler was a great commentator for many years but he is well passed his best now. The problem is like with most things on Sky when he goes it will be a downgrade to someone even worse.
  17. He'd be mad to leave Brighton for Spurs, Brighton are on the up whereas Spurs are on the way back down. In fact I don't know why any ambitious manager with a good reputation in management would take the Spurs job.
  18. A massive mistake not to cash in on him a multi million pounds mistake in fact. Fair play to the lad how he has turned it around from when he first came here but I would be staggered if he was a big success in La Liga. I find it bewildering that a club like Villarreal sitting 5th in La Liga and all but certain to be in the Europa League next season are signing him.
  19. Of course the big difference between Mowbray here and at Sunderland is that he hasn't recruited any of their team.
  20. Mowbray won't know who to want to win in they play Middlesbrough in the final.
  21. Which alternative players would you be selecting then? Just look at that bench today its either unfit players or more kids.
  22. It's not very often I say this but well done Liverpool what a fantastic performance.
