  1. He's been here 3 seasons and 'shown bit's'. Not exactly a ringing endorsement. That fact the stand out game you pick out for him is a 25 minute sub appearance says it all.
  2. Actually that was Buckley I said that about and I still think that is his level. I think that Brereton based on his performances for Rovers looks a League 1 player.
  3. 'Didn't look too shabby' that is setting the bar rather low. In the few games I've seen him involved in he's never shown anything to suggest that at the moment he is of the required standard. Also given his injury record I have concerns about whether he could physically cope with the rigours of Championship football. The best thing for us and him would be to loan him out let him try to stay fit, play some regular first team football then re-examine the situation either in January or in the summer. He's coming up 22 he needs to start playing regular first team football if he is to have any hope of developing instead of staying at Rovers being on the fringes of a squad just getting some minutes here and there.
  4. I also remember some poster's on here who were adamant that Mowbray was the right man for us and said that we would be challenging for the playoffs. We never got close and ended up closer to relegation.
  5. That's your opinion but I don't think they are good enough and I would be in some cases loaning out in other cases looking to move on permanently in order to make space to bring some Championship experience and quality into the squad. You think we should be top 6 this season do you seriously think that those 3 players are good enough for that? I wouldn't have re signed him and let's be honest we all know that Mowbray isn't his biggest fan and that he is barely going to feature this season. Again I'll ask the same question do you think Chapman is good enough for a side aiming for top 6? In fact can you seriously look at that list of 20 players that you listed and think that looks a good Championship squad and with a 4 additions it should be top 6?
  6. Firstly there is only 20 names there. You make one space by loaning out either Pears and the Greek lad so that they can play competitive first team football. Then you have the likes of Davenport, Buckley, Chapman and Butterworth who are not up to standard for the Championship and should be in some cases loaned out and in other cases sold. Do that and then you have 10 spaces left and if Armstrong goes then you have 11.
  7. Mowbray worked with him at Hibs took him to Celtic with him and he tried to take him to West Brom with him. So I think we are on pretty safe ground to assume that they get on well. Is his record that good? He made a couple very good signings for Celtic 8 and 10 years ago. After leaving Celtic in 2016 he didn't work for a club as far as I can tell until January this year when he joined might of Legia Warsaw. So he hasn't exactly been a man in demand over the past 5 years. A bit of a difference in ability between the likes of Bjornebye and Friedel compared to the likes of Ayala and Pears. And they came in a made an immediate impact as did Sourness, Mowbray and the ex Boro boys he has signed have done nothing to improve the club. Also remember when he gave his mate Smallwood a extra 6 week contract even though he had not and did not play a single minute all season. Also I can't remember Souness ever appointing his mate as CEO.
  8. The so called 'crown jewels' do still exist but the Open was always on the B list which means that there only has to be a sufficient amount of highlights on free to air. It is only events that are on the A list that have to be shown live on free to air.
  9. He left Celtic in 2016 and he doesn't appear to have worked for another club (at least that I can find) until January this year when he started working for Legia Warsaw.
  10. Twice worked with him. He also worked with him at Hibs.
  11. We have a manager who uses this club like a benevolent fund for him and his mates. He's got Venus a job here, he's now appointed an old mate as his Head of Recruitment and he even got to appoint his mate as his CEO. How many other managers get to appoint their own CEO? Then we have all the money that has been wasted on players from his beloved Boro with the most criminal of all being a decent fee and a 4 year deal given to an ex team mate of his' son. The man has seemingly complete and unlimited power at the club. And whilst it might be good for him and his mates it is most certainly not good for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.
  12. Whoever would have guessed it. We have been looking for a head of recruitment for months and lo and behold when we appoint one he just happens to be an old mate of Mowbray's. The man is untouchable and his power at the club appears to be unlimited.
  13. A shame it is at Royal St George, we've waited 2 years for the Open and it comes back at that awful course. Always very difficult to pick a winner in a golf major with so many good players but my each ways bet's are on Viktor Hovland, Harris English and Xander Schauffele.
  14. The man really is quite deluded. He now seems to think that his own training methods are well advanced of the Belgium National team who have been in and around the top of the FIFA World rankings for a long period of time and came third at the World Cup. Also Kaminski was called up on the 28th of June and Belgium were eliminated on the 2nd of July, it's hardly like he was away for weeks.
  15. Really? After 18 months without fan's in the stadium and the EFL now starting to clamp down on clubs overspending. You may see one or two big money signings from those club coming down from the Premiership but I can't see many other Championship clubs making big cash signings and certainly not most of them.
  16. Why do you expect top 6? Just for starters we are managed by someone who you yourself want sacked. The squad is average at very best and very slim, our top scorer from last season will likely go and our top provider in Elliott has already gone. Also the finances suggest that there is little room to bring in much quality in. No I'm not renewing this season it is over a 400 mile round trip for me to go Ewood. Going to Ewood for a game takes up a whole day for me and quite frankly I have better things to spend my time and for that matter my money on than watching our club continue to rot under Mowbray.
  17. Why should it? There is nothing about the club that say's top six material. Bottom 6 is far more realistic than top 6.
  18. We sold Rhodes and went down the following season. We sold Shearer a few years later.
  19. There's optimism and then there is this. What on earth makes you think that we should be top 6?
  20. A very strange schedule. I thought for sure they would add in a 5th friendly between Fylde and Bradford games, but it doesn't seem as though that is going to be the case.
  21. I'm not a Lancs fan but I think there is a lot to like about Parkinson, leg spin is a difficult thing to bowl and at 24 he is still very much learning his art but whenever I see him play I'm always impressed with his control and temperament. Also he is not afraid to toss the ball up.
  22. A fantastic win for England to pull a group of players out of county cricket, get them together and then within a matter of days win a ODI series against Pakistan, it is a testament to the strength of county cricket. The ECB and a lots of the media like to deride County Cricket and blame all England's woes on it but it is a wonderful product that is just greatly undersold and underappreciated by those in power. English cricket would be in a much better place now if the ECB had spent just half of what they are spending on this ridiculous 'Hundred' competition on County Cricket.
  23. Need a lot of quality added in midfield, only Travis is Championship quality of our midfield. Rothwell is too inconsistent, Davenport is injury prone and not overly impressive when involved, Buckley too lightweight and Johnson ever since he has turned up has looked unfit and out of shape.
  24. Well he isn't much use to the club is he. Dack has done a lot for this club. What has Ayala done apart from prop up the treatment table? Dack also started and ended the season with an ACL and yet he still played more games than Ayala.
  25. Give him a chance? He's had a whole season and been a complete and utter waste of space. If he performs then he will have the fans behind him but if he continues to prop up the treatment table whilst being one of the higher earners then he is obviously going to cop some flack.
