  1. The current Rovers managers job has to be the best in football. At what other club does a manager get to set his own expectations and then when he misses them get's his bosses on board with downgrading them. At what other club does a manager have no pressure to get results and is able to have an attitude of not caring where he finishes in the table. At what other club does the manager get to appoint his own mate as his CEO.
  2. I'm not trying to change your mind I'm just stating facts.
  3. The ground was sold off by administrators when the old club was liquidated. The name is different the old Rangers that was liquidated was trading under the name The Rangers Football Club PLC. The new club is trading under the name The Rangers Football Club Ltd.
  4. For atmosphere I have yet to sample a better ground in the world than La Bombonera.
  5. When Celtic went to Seville for a Uefa Cup final (a few years before the original Rangers' fans trashed Manchester) there was no trouble whatsoever I was out there and it was a fantastic occasion. They even received fair play awards from both Uefa and FIFA. As I mod could you also tell me why my post has twice been taken down in regards to Rangers winning their first league title? Which mod doesn't understand liquidation? The old Rangers are dead that company was liquidated in 2012.
  6. It's always that or the butcher's apron with them. They never change, one of the last times they played in England after the Uefa Cup final they went on the rampage and left a trail of violence and destruction in their wake.
  7. If Bournemouth don't go up they could probably afford him. If Brentford don't go up they probably sell Toney so would have the funds. But come the end of this season sides won't need to pay a fee for him. Armstrong holds all the cards in regards to his future and we don't hold any, be it negotiating with Armstrong over his contract or with other clubs over a fee for him we are negotiating from a very weak position. I honestly struggle to see us getting anything above £15 Million for him.
  8. If you think Armstrong is going to want to stay here you are deluding yourself. Why would any footballer with aspirations want to stay at a club where the maximum ambition is a mid table finish in the 2nd tier? Even if Armstrong doesn't get offers from Premiership clubs he won't be short on offers from ambitious Championship clubs who will want him to fire them to promotion who would also no doubt give him a nice wage rise as well. I doubt he will look at Rhodes, Gestede and Marshall's career and make his decision on that because he will quite rightly have faith in his own ability. Also why not include the likes of King, Duffy, Hanley and Cairney who have all gone on to better things since leaving us.
  9. Would he rather be a Premiership player earning at least double perhaps even treble the money or play for a club struggling around the bottom half of the Championship. It's a really tough one. There is absolutely no reason for Armstrong to sign a new contract with us even if he doesn't get a Premiership move Championship teams with ambition would snap him up in an instant on a free transfer.
  10. Can only assume that Bennett has been offered an extension to stay on as the dressing room Jester. I can't understand why Johnson has been given a new deal he hasn't looked fit from the moment he arrived and I don't expect that to change. In regards to the other 3 it appears we have simply kicked the can 12 months down the road. It is very worrying that we aren't even able to tie Rankin-Costello down he is a distinctly average player, with a dreadful injury record and with what just twentyish Championship games under his belt. If we aren't even able to tie him down then it says a lot about the direction we are going in.
  11. So would Mulgrew's wages for the 2 years of his new contract Mowbray gave him where he played just 2 games.
  12. Is he really much better than Coyle though? Coyle took over a team than within 12 months had lost Rhodes, King, Gestede, Cairney, Olsson and within a matter of weeks him being here then lost Hanley and Duffy and a few months after that Marshall departed. Those players were replaced with frees or cheap loans with the exception of his solitary signing for a fee which was Williams for £250K. Mowbray has had 4 years, around £20 Million, not had to sell a single key player and yet we finished this season a just 7 places higher than we were under Coyle. What does make Mowbray different from other managers is he loves to portray himself as a pillar of virtue, he's obsessed with telling people what a great, humble, working class guy he is. But in terms of his time at Rovers it simply doesn't stand up to scrutiny. I certainly won't be getting a season ticket for the new season and I certainly won't feel a victim at missing out on watching a Tony Mowbray team.
  13. Perhaps but despite talking a good game the only action I ever see from Waggott is downgrades and doing things on the cheap. Also I seem to remember reading a few months back that it was in the final stages of the tendering process for a complete renovation, which suggests that the money was there.
  14. Or it could quite possibly be Waggott doing something on the cheap again.
  15. Waggott always like to say how important season tickets are to the clubs finance yet the season has ended and not a mention of season tickets. Renewal details have already been put out by the following Championship clubs from this season, Bournemouth, Barnsley, Bristol City, Cardiff, Brentford, Coventry, Huddersfield, Luton, Millwall, Forest, Stoke, Swansea, Watford, Wycombe and also at newly promoted Peterborough. It's the same thing every summer be it season tickets or budgets we are always behind the curve.
  16. Lenihan might be experienced but he has never really matured needs and older more experienced head alongside him. Travis is 23 and has played 88 Championship games hardly a wealth of experience is it. As for Ayala I will assume that you are joking when you mention him as surely you have worked out by now that he is a complete waste of space. One of the best defenders in the Championship this season was Grant Hanley (aged 29), one of the best strikers was Temu Pukki (aged 31). The best side we played at home this season I thought was Watford their midfield dominated us and it had two 31 year olds in it. To write a player of simply because of his age is foolish, judge a player on their fitness and ability when deciding to sign them not their age.
  17. Of course but why write a player off just because he is 29-31 years of age. It makes no sense.
  18. We need some leaders and wiser more experienced heads in our team. Particularly at centre back and in central midfield. To not sign a player because he is 29, 30 or even 31 years of age would be lunacy if he has the ability to come in and improve the team. Also a 29-31 year old his hardly past their prime and in some cases still in it.
  19. Watch and understand football from the man who said Buckley is a £10 Million player and that after a defeat 3-1 defeat at Watford that he was 'absolutely sure we will finish in the top 6'. So please spare us your condescending comments Mr Expert.
  20. Haller left in January. He must be having you on about being in the loop.
  21. Before this season though he had never played above Scottish Championship, which is probably on a par with our National League. This season in his first season in the top flight he hasn't set the world alight. The Scottish Premiership is a much weaker league than the Championship as well, take some like Devante Cole (who is the same age as Shankland) he has never really done anything down here, yet for Motherwell this season he has looked an good player.
  22. Why on earth would you want Shankland, he's League 1 standard at best. I you want a decent striker from Scotland then Kevin Nisbet is a far far better player.
  23. You can see why Derby are struggling when Waghorn comes out and says 'this is what you live for as a footballer' after finish 21st in the Championship. Seems like their standards have dropped as low as ours.
  24. Think where this team would be without him though.
  25. Last years target 70 points, he finished 7 points short. This season's target top 6 which we will finish a minimum of 20 points short of. When is someone either at the club or in the local press going to hold him to account?
