He'll dine out on that point for the rest of the season. We could lose every game between now and the end of the season but he'd still use this game as evidence that we aren't far off.

Gallagher in the box, ball crossed in and he scores. It's really not that complicated a game.

I don't think Mowbray is much better than Coyle. Coyle took over a squad that had sold within the 12 months previous Cairney, Rhodes, Gestede, King, Olsson then not long after taking over Hanley and Duffy went, in the January window Marshall went. Coyle spent money on just one player and that was a measly £250K on Williams, the rest of the players signed to replace the good players we had lost were loans and frees. Mowbray unlike Coyle has not had not lost any of his key players (he lost Raya but that was because he wanted rid off him), and Mowbray has spent getting on for £20 Million on players in his time here. Yet we are only 7 places better of in the table than we were under Coyle.

Mowbrays Successor

There has never been an easier time to appoint a manager than now, out of work managers like all out of work people will be feeling the pinch at the moment. Under normal circumstances you would not get the likes of Pearson, McCarthy and Cowley all prepared to take deal just until the end of the season yet they all have done. I think that a lot of people would be pleasantly surprised by the manager that we could attract. -
Saturday is a free hit for him (although it seems like every game is). Win or draw and he will proclaim it a great result and evidence that we aren't far off. Lose by one goal and it will be another hard luck tale. Even if we get hammered he'll come out and say it's the first time this season and they are top of the league and were in the Premiership last season.

At least we can all now see him for what he really is. He likes to make out he is this great, humble and moral guy and for 18 months or so I was taken in by him but like Kean and Coyle before him he is just another chancer managing above his abilities. He loves to talk about what a great, honourable guy he is and how he would never be a burden, yet he resigned at Coventry after 6 points from 10 games saying he was an 'honourable guy' and that it was 'embarrassing' yet it seems to him that 5 points from 11 games with Blackburn Rovers is perfectly acceptable. I'd love to hear that put to him by one of the local journalists but I shan't hold my breath.

Another barrel load of garbage from him. Bemoaning the fact that sides sit deep against us, Cardiff did it in the 4th game of the season we didn't have an answer then and 30+ games on we still don't. Instead of moaning about it come up with some fresh ideas instead of doing the same things game after game and getting the same results. As for saying that Gallagher 'isn’t someone who historically has scored goals from crosses'. Well it's quite difficult for him to when he is the one putting the crosses in tonight for example we had the 6ft 3 Gallagher putting in crosses for the 5ft 5 Dolan. But Gallagher showed under Coyle that if played central he can score goals from crosses. 'Find the answers' - Mowbray's verdict on Bristol City stalemate | Lancashire Telegraph

Rovers v Bristol City - 17/03/21
Ewood Ace replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Dear god what an awful game of football. Rothwell the only player who looked like making anything happen and the reason for that is when he get's the ball his first thought is to go forward and inject some pace and urgency into the game. The rest of the team get the ball and first they slow it down and then look to go backwards or sideways. Also how has Rankin-Costello become our first choice right back over Nyambe? He's average at best, has no outstanding attributes and is not even half the player Nyambe is. I reckon that our two full backs must be the slowest pair of full backs I have ever seen and how has Douglas got a reputation for being good a set pieces his set pieces ever since he signed for us have been more Charlie Chaplin than Charlie Mulgrew. -
Bristol City are an 'old fashioned' team according to Mowbray. He really does think he is some sort of modern day pioneer of the game in the same mould of Guardiola. He's utterly deluded I have seen anything since Mowbray turned up at Rovers that I hadn't seen before and I have also see a hell of a lot better stuff than anything he has ever produced. That's a relegation midfield, far too weak.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Incredible really we were ahead of Barnsley in the table when we played them 4 weeks ago, now 4 weeks on we are 15 points behind them. -

We truly are living in strange times. I never thought that I'd see Jason Lowe score the winning penalty in a Wembley final. -
If Mowbray is here next season then a relegation battle is inevitable. If he does go then he is leaving the club in nearly as big as a mess as he found it. The turnover of players this summer is going to be huge due to the short term approach that Mowbray has taken in the transfer market. All the loan player will go back and the only one I'd like to see back is Elliott but let's face it he is to good to be coming back here. Of the out of contract players the only 3 worth giving new deals to are Nymabe, Rothwell and JRC, I think JRC will sign and probably Rothwell but I can't see Nyambe being here next season. The rest of the out of contract players are either to old, to injury prone or just not good enough. Armstrong will almost certainly be on his way as well. That would leave us with a squad next season of. GK's: Kaminski, Pears RB: Pike CB's: Lenihan, Ayala, Wharton, Cater, Magloire LB: Pickering CM's: Rothwell, Davenport, Travis, Buckley Attackers: Dolan, Brereton, JRC (I think right wing would be the position that suits him best), Dack (probably out for most the season though) Strikers: Gallagher, McBride That is an incredibly weak looking squad that needs a lot of bodies and quality adding to it. You have players like Magloire, Buckley and McBride who would benefit more from going out on loan. Then you have the likes of Davenport and Ayala who you can't rely on one bit. You could possibly add Chapman to the squad given the amount of players we are going to need he could after his successful loan spell prove to be a decent squad option for us. I'd say in terms of incomings we need 9-11 players. A right back, at least 1 ideally 2 centre backs, a left back, at least 1 ideally 2 central midfielders, 2-3 players in the attacking positions and at least 1 striker ideally 2 then we could send McBride out on loan

Blackburn Rovers vs Brentford, Friday, March 12.
Ewood Ace replied to WacoRover's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I wasn't a foul he just used his body to protect the ball. If you're giving a foul for that then there would have been free kicks every time that Toney got hold of the ball with his back to goal. -
Dack potentially out for another year, Armstrong most likely on the way, Elliott back to Liverpool. That's a lot of goals/assists going from our team. If Mowbray is here next season then a relegation battle is an absolute certainty, we are desperately in need of some fresh ideas.

The reason why nothing will get done about refereeing highlighted again tonight. Mowbray saw everything and thought that the ref go them all wrong yet when at Middlesbrough a few weeks ago when we should have conceded a penalty he didn't see it. Frank thought that the ref got them all correct. And there is the problem managers only speak out when decisions go against them until managers stop being one eyed about decisions and start being honest then nothing will get done about the dismal standard of refereeing. Personally I though that we should have had a pen for the foul on Nyambe, I thought that their penalty was a dive. As for the Dack incident I personally didn't think Raya did anything wrong he just used his body to protect the ball like players do all the time. -

Future Plans/Strategies
Ewood Ace replied to roversfan99's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This plan would most likely see us end up where Bolton are now, in League 2. The club's debt is getting on for £200 Million and the only way that get's sorted in anyway and the club get's back on a steady financial footing is by getting promoted to the Premiership. -
Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Dijksteel at Boro is out injured for the rest of the season after being taken out of the ball by Swansea player Manning. Of course as it was Swansea no action was taken at the time or retrospectively. If Swansea don't get promoted this season then it will be a very poor show as they have been playing a lot of games of late with 12 men. -
Future Plans/Strategies

A great 6 point plan for how to get relegated but not for anything else. In fact it is pretty much what we did before we got relegated last time, sell our best players and replace them with cheap players and academy players. -

A good performance and disappointing not to win but we aren't the first side this season to be undone by Swansea's 12th man and we won't be the last. -

I called it before the game you can't go near this lot in the box as they are team of divers. The decisions that Swansea get are a disgrace, Warnock was spot on about it. It's the referees union looking after one of their owns son. -

I would imagine he is referring to their diving and also the behaviour of their bench who are constantly jumping around and overreacting to the slightest thing trying to put pressure on the ref.
