He must be defending pretty well if you have to go all the way back to Newcastle to pick out a goal that he was to blame for. 😆
-
Who is our best defender then? He has no positional problem the problem is that the manager is asking him to do the jobs of 2 players because he will not play with wingers. The first goal the other night a fantastic case in point Nyambe does what a good full back should and covers his centre backs who are out of position and then the winger should cover Nyambe and track Cunningham but we don't play with wingers. Which means that he will either go for free next summer or the club will have to cash in this summer but with him only having 12 months left he would still go for a fraction of what he is really worth. Either way it's a bad result for Rovers. Name six better then? The only two I can think of are Aarons and Esteves (who is on loan from FC Porto). I'd then have Nyambe in third just ahead of Connor Roberts.

He's the best defender at the club by a mile. The only reason that you aren't a big fan is because your dear leader regularly uses him as a scapegoat and you know that he isn't going to sign a new contract, so when he goes for a pittance of what he is worth you can continue to defend the dear leader.

The blokes taking the piss now. He's droned on and on about the journey for years and now looks up and says we are only 28 games into it. The sooner this bloke is gone the better. I thought he was untouchable but he is sounding more and more like a man who is under a fair bit of pressure.

He never misses a chance to have a dig at Nyambe, his treatment of him has been poor during his entire tenure. Nyambe has been one of our most consistent performers this season and when you think that he has to do the jobs of two players in every match he has probably been our best. I would not blame Nyambe one bit if he doesn't sign a new deal, he deserves better than the way Mowbray treats him.

Joe Grayson playing for Oxford against League 2 Tranmere has just had a horrendous first half. -
Still wittering on about his F-ing journey.

Barnsley v Rovers, Wed 17th Feb

That has been the story with most our squad this season. Out of a squad of what 27-28 players the only ones that have performed consistently well this season have been Kaminski, Nyambe, Elliott and Armstrong. -

John Buckley
Ewood Ace replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Holtby has been missing on and off all season and Downing has started just one league game yet Buckley has still barely mustered a start even though we have been playing a midfield 3. If we want to be at the right end of the table next season we are going to need much better than Buckley in the middle of the park. -

Douglas has come here to play regular football because he isn't good enough to play for Leeds. Buckley should be sent out on loan to play regular football because he isn't good enough to play for us. -

Desperate stuff if he's near top of our priorities for signing a new contract. Although perhaps he was just the first to say yes as he probably couldn't believe his luck. -
I'd say this game has been less about the toss than the first test. Batting on days 1 and 2 in the first test the pitch was very flat and nothing was on offer for the bowlers and then it really started to go the next 3 days. This test the ball has turned pretty much from the first ball bowled by a spinner. Sharma batted fantastically on day 1 and got India to a total well above par that has been the difference not the toss.

Mowbrays Successor
Ewood Ace replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
On the Venkys appointment of managers, I'm not so sure that it is quite as terrible as some make out. Kean was of course dreadful and the damage he did is still no way near close to being repaired. Berg was a very odd appointment that I think was made because of the success he had as a player and they hoped it would get the fans back on side. Since then though with the exception of Coyle (who was a terrible) I would say that the appointments haven't been bad ones. Appleton has shown since leaving Rovers that he is a capable manager. The Rovers job was the wrong job at the wrong time for him, he was a young manager who inherited a mess that had been on a downward spiral and had some terrible characters in the dressing room. I think to expect much from him straight away was asking a lot but given time he could have done a decent job, as he has done since at Oxford and now Lincoln. Bowyer was a sensible appointment who steadied a ship that had been sinking for a good few years and got rid of the bad characters and built a good side. The problem with Bowyer was similar to the one we have now with Mowbray, he took the club to a certain level but didn't have the nous to take to the next level and the owners stuck with him for too long. Lambert when appointed hardly any thought was a bad appointment, he had a very successful spell at Norwich and then did decently at Villa in the Premiership. Mowbray like Bowyer was a steady sensible appointment who although failed to keep us up did bring us back up and has made us a steady mid table team but like with Bowyer we now need a change to take us to the next level. -
The bloke's a bullshitter, he'll tell the room what they want to hear but then his actions will tell a different story.

An utterly bizarre interview. As I said last night I don't think he wants to be here the only thing keeping him here is his last big pay packet before retirement.

In the 3 season since we have been back in the Championship Swansea have spent about £8 Million, in the same time we have spent £15 Million just on strikers. In the last 2 seasons with Cooper in charge they have spent £2.2 Million on transfers so less than half of what we spent just on Sam Gallagher in that same period. Reading in the 3 years since we have been back in the Championship have spent around the same as us although their net spend is a fair bit less than ours. Brentford have made a significant profit in terms of transfers because they are always forced to sell their best players something that has never happened to Mowbray. Norwich are only in a position to spend money because they got to the Premiership but Farke got them into the Prem by spending less than Mowbray has already spent and he had two of his best player sold in Murphy and Maddison.
-
It's not just this season. He's managed us in 67 Championship home games and in 67 first halves we have scored just 31 goals. The year we went down it was awful first halves at home to the likes of Bristol City, Barnsley and Cardiff that in the end cost us that one extra point.
-
Of the teams in the Championship this season we have one of the highest over the last 3 seasons. We are one of the few who have spent more than we have brought in.
-
People been saying that to me for the last 2 years and we are still stuck in mid table and going no where with him.
-
He's done a decent job. A great job is rather an exaggeration.
