Why would you not want Bayern Munich in it? They truly are one of Europe's giant clubs unlike Spurs, Arsenal and Man City or even Chelsea for that matter. -

City couldn't even sale out a Cup semi final a few years back. Manchester City struggling to shift FA Cup semi-final tickets | Daily Mail Online In recent years for Champions League games some of the attendance they have got in a 53000 capacity stadium are 40111, 43548, 48520, 45310, 49411, 30270, 45595, 41829 and 43630. So It's nothing to do with the Premier League infact they average higher crowds in the Premiership than they do in the Champions League. Arsenal over the last few years have also regularly failed to sell out European games but they doctor the figures so that we can't know how low it really is. -

If that's true then fans must regularly go to the Emirates and Etihad dressed as empty seats. -

I think that they have misjudged the fans in this country who go to watch them week in week out up and down the country. What this will appeal more to is overseas fans why don't have that strong attachment to the English game in general or to their clubs local area, to their traditions and history. They have become supporters of their club solely down to the fact that their club has been successful in their life time. -

A European Super League at some stage seems almost inevitable. Foreign ownership has destroyed the soul of the English game. Fans are now simply seen as customers and with many owners even what happens on the pitch is irrelevant all that seems to matter now is how much money can be made. -
And there you have the problem with these stattos summed up they pay more attention to numbers on a spreadsheet than they do to what is happening on the pitch. Surely no one who has watched us play could genuinely believe that almost every aspect of our play has improved this season. Regressed more like.

Rovers v Derby - 6pm, Friday 16th
Ewood Ace replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Very lucky at the end but I'm just relived to have got to 50 points which I think will guarantee safety this season. Kaminski back on form to make some crucial saves. The defence with the exception of Harwood-Bellis was awful the left side pairing of Douglas and Branthwaite was an aberration but thankfully 2nd half Derby did seem to try and exploit it. The midfield 3 of Travis, Holtby and Johnson were a disgrace and totally dominated by Shinnie all 3 of them looked unfit and uninterested. Rothwell when he came on was magnificent and totally changed the direction of the game. Elliott was poor tonight and I though the goalie should have done much better with his strike. A good header by Gallagher for the equaliser, what will it take for Mowbray to realise that he needs to be in the box for crosses all the time not just for set pieces. His work defensively when tracking back was awful. Armstrong although he didn't score caused their 2 centre backs no end of problems we really didn't get at them enough to many side ways and backwards passes instead of getting at them it wasn't until Rothwell came on that our first instinct was to go forward. Derby played some decent stuff but the epitomised everything that is wrong with the modern football team. First goal given away by marking zonally and then not having anyone on the post. The second goal a big centre back whose clearly not comfortable on the ball trying to play his way out. They also lined up with no proper striker and despite having a lot of the ball didn't create much instead just passing sideways and backwards, it was only when they put an actually striker on and put the ball in the box that they looked like creating something. -
On the plus side he has saved me £10. If the manager couldn't give a toss about where we finish in the table then I'm not spending my money to watch the uninspired dross that he puts out.
-
A thoroughly depressing read. His negligence is shinning through again with the comment, “I’m not interested whether we finish 17th or ninth, personally." That is a comment up there with any of the B.S. that Kean ever came out with. Tony Mowbray on points targets, league tables & expectations | Lancashire Telegraph

Will Mowbray be gone at the end of the season?
Ewood Ace replied to skous18's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
No he could take us down and I think he would still keep his job, he's untouchable and the arrogant bugger knows it. He's appointed his mate in as CEO who will back him and they will both give the same pitiful excuses to the owners for this dreadful season which they will fall for. -
He's also only won promotion once. But I think we all know by now that Mowbray has an aversion to the facts.
-
He's not the only one that has been.
-
He's looked at the league table and he's confident that the journey is still on course.
-
Doesn't do formation's, doesn't do work on set pieces, doesn't look at the league table. What exactly does he do? He should be sacked for negligence.

Hayden Carter on the scoresheet for Burton tonight and another clean sheet. He's had a very impressive loan spell there surely he has to be part of the 1st team squad next season. We aren't exactly blessed with centre backs. -
Terrible website the standard of the articles written about Rovers on there makes the LT's look like they were written by Brian Glanville.
-
They are supposed to be business people all they had to do was look at how well the club was being run and just let it carry on. The problem was they thought they knew how to operate a football club better than men who had been doing it successfully for 15 years. And sadly that still seems to be the case.
-
The problem is that in their entire time here they have only had 2 people on the board who knew how to run a football club, that was John Williams and Tom Finn and they quickly forced them out. Ever since then no one at board room level appears to have a clue how to a football club should operate which is why we have ended up in a situation where the manager pretty much has free reign over everything even so far as being able to appoint his own CEO.

A few months back you were against signing players who were playing in League 1 and now you are suddenly championing it. Another seamless 180 degree turn. -
Expected goals is something used by desperate managers or by statto's who are so engrossed in numbers they know little about football. People in football all know that it is a complete load of nonsense, as do most supporters.
-
Of course the News channels should cover it but it was rather over the top that the BBC had exactly the same coverage on BBC1, BBC2, BBC News and BBC Parliament whilst BBC 4's schedule was cancelled and all that was shown was a blank screen. But it does and always has done. The monarchy is not apolitical and will most likely be even less so once Charles (Black Spider) is on the throne.

Can't say he's ever stood out to me the only Millwall player who ever stands out when I watch them is big Cooper at the back. Top defender I can't understand how he hasn't got a move to a club a bit higher up the division. -

Yes I mentioned him previously. Good player but he's not going to be getting in Leicester squad next season and given he'll be nearly 23 come the start of next season we might even be able to do a permanent deal but if not then he will almost certainly be back out on loan next season. -
He's completely deluded, he seems to think if we play half decently then that constitutes dominating the game. For the last time we were genuinely dominant in a game you'd probably have to go back to the 2nd half against a 10 man Preston.

v Cardiff City (a) 10/4/21 - Into the Valley(s)
Ewood Ace replied to Herbie6590's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A point that should just about ensure our survival. A poor game made interesting by two dismal goalkeeping displays. Mowbray will of course try to spin this as great point and proof that he is a genius but it is just 1 win in 15 and 8 points from the last 45 on offer.
