What exactly is your point? Are you trying to say that all league should aspire to be like the MLS. The MLS is a retirement home for those looking for a last pay day and the standard of it is poor. The MLS isn't even the best league in the CONCACAF region and the national team lost out to Panama in qualifying for the last world cup.

But this about Association football not the Yankee version. In their 16 years of owning an Association football club they have only ever acted in their own interests and never the clubs. What they do or don't do in Yankee football in simply irrelevant to this.

They have owned Manchester United for 16 years and have rarely acted in the clubs interest. Their performances on the pitch have dropped, the trophy cabinets that were once packed are now bare, the once Theatre of Dreams is now looking increasingly dated and downtrodden. The only 2 things that have gone up since they bought the club are the club's debts and their own personal wealth. Your half right they certainly have their own interests at heart but certainly not the clubs.

The thing with Rooney was that he peaked early, as a young lad he was sensational at Euro 2004 had he not got injured I think we would have won it he was only 18 at the time but was nearly unplayable. In his early days at United he was was a better player than Ronaldo but whereas Ronaldo just carried on getting better and better as he got older Rooney stagnated in his mid 20's and then started to go backwards. Rooney is a few months younger than Ronaldo and his career has been finished at the top level for 3 or 4 years already whereas Ronaldo is still performing at the highest level.
