But we don't have the players in defence or midfield who are capable of passing the ball to these players the way that Mowbray wants them to. The likes of Holtby and Rothwell need the ball played quickly into them when they have space but our defenders and sitting midfielders don't have the ability to move the ball quickly and accurately, which is why we see so much ponderous sideways and backwards passing. Personally I think if we can sort the defence out then we are better suited to counter attacking football.

A shame that we are moving away from out most effective style of play and the style that suits our players best.

Championship season 2019-20

He's a class above Travis in all aspects of his game at the moment. Travis is a good solid Championship midfielder. As for Reed there aren't many better midfielders in this division than him maybe only Phillips at Leeds. I think Reed will almost certainly be playing Premiership football next season and he won't look out of place. Mowbray's use of Reed was criminal.- 3187 replies

Beckham went from playing 4th tier football with Preston to Man United regular within a matter of to months. It does a player much better to go out and play men's football rather than at 20, 21 still only playing under 23's football.

Well he let 5 in, in that game so it's safe to say he wasn't man of the match.

Norwich must have already spent more for this summer than they spent in their 2 transfer windows in the Premiership. Crazy -
Championship season 2019-20

Raya has improved massively on crosses. You have to question our goalkeeping coach as both Raya and Walton have been hopeless on crosses when on our books and according to Mowbray when his signed that was one of Walton's strengths. -
He's been linked with all the so called 'big 6'. It's just easy journalism to link a young England international with the big clubs.

Platt signs for Barrow on a permanent deal. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2020/july/platt-rejoins-bluebirds-on-permanent-deal/

I think the 'Deary Me' was more at the fact you suggested that they would throw O'Connell into a deal.

Nothing wrong with rumours Chaddy, but this is complete conjecture. Travis is a good Championship midfielder but he isn't near Premier League standard and the chances of West Ham getting £60 Million or whatever the figure might be for Rice and them signing Travis to replace him is fantasy.
-
It's utterly pointless me suggesting anyone to you because whoever I say you will dismiss them out of hand, as in your mind no one but Mowbray could possibly do the job.
-
In that case we'd just as well kept Coyle as he had proven he is capable of doing so more recently than Mowbray.

Championship season 2019-20
Ewood Ace replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I wouldn't worry Chaddy there is absolutely zero chance of Harrison Reed signing for us after the way Mowbray treated him. He was by a country mile the best central midfielder at the club yet he was shunted out wide and rather insultingly told that he had to learn from Smallwood and Evans how to play the position. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him playing Premier League football next season be that at Southampton, Fulham or elsewhere. -
Chris Hughton or Nigel Pearson

We have neither the players or the management to play the type of attractive football that those sides did to get promoted.
-
Nonsense. Goals scored against bottom half teams 38, goals scored against top half teams 28. Games failed to score against bottom half teams 5. Games failed to score against teams in the top half also 5. Not to mention the fact that we took 38 points of the teams in the bottom half whereas we only took 25 points of teams in the top half.

I'd hardly call Cardiff a footballing team. Far from it in fact. Also very wrong to suggest that Fulham just lump it up to Mitrovic, they are a good footballing side.
-
'Very well' were your exact words.
-
He was very good on the ball although a bit too casual sometimes. But defensively he was average at best.
-
If you think Carter played very well in either of his appearances then I'd suggest it is more that you have very low expectations of our academy players than anything else. He's no way near Premier League standard. Hugely overrated by Rovers fans.

When has Williams ever been a middle of the road Championship defender? He isn't even a quarter of the way up the road. He shouldn't even be considered as an option at centre back the only position he has ever put in solid performances is at left back. If Williams is here next season then it should only be as 2nd choice left back, if he is an option at centre back next season then it will signal a very poor transfer window and a very long season ahead.

And only Travis is really up to standard for a side with top 6 aspirations. Evans you cannot rely upon although he might be useful at the start of this season because he is in need of a new contract. Johnson has the ability but his commitment has to be questioned, he has had a lot of poor performances and hasn't looked in shape all season. Davenport has been here two years and still not started a game, so that tells you what the manager thinks about him. Buckley is miles away from being ready for a side with top 6 Championship ambition. The best thing for him would be to go out on loan and get experience regularly playing men's football because at the moment he looks like a boy in a mans game. Rothwell I would much rather see in a more advanced role, for me his best position is coming in of the left hand side. As for Downing I wouldn't be giving him an extension, he was average a best this season and if we want to push on for the top 6 we would be better of spending the money spent on his wages elsewhere. If we are serious about making top 6 next season then central midfield is one of the positions that needs strengthening.

Yes please Chaddy
