  1. You've changed your opinion. Also they finished 17th well clear of the relegation zone so even if Hull hadn't imploded and Wigan gone into administration they would still have survived comfortably
  2. It was enough to keep Middlesbrough up against all the odds though.
  3. The great Warnock? A while back you were saying that he was past it and was going to take Middlesbrough down. Also Warnock did offer a contract to Friend. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/18626880.neil-warnock-confirms-contract-offer-george-friend-marvin-johnson/
  4. Swansea have the young German lad who was on loan at Swindon last season and got rave reviews. Rotherham have Price who has 150 career league appearances. Which leaves us in the same boat a Birmingham, is that really who you want to be on the same level as?
  5. Typical he was one player from the north east that I was hoping we might be after, a very solid and experienced player at this level in a position we need to strengthen.
  6. It's Tony Mowbray you are talking about not Rinus Michels or Pep Guardiola. I'm sure any decent Championship defender could quite easily fit into Mowbray's mythical style quite comfortably.
  7. He says a lot of things but they are not always backed up by his actions.
  8. You are assuming that Mowbray knows the style and system that he wants to play. Judging by what I have seen on the pitch I don't think he has a clue.
  9. I can already hear him saying it.
  10. Seen him play for Ross County and for Fleetwood in the play offs. His brother is a much better player but he is very injury prone.
  11. If Souttar is the calibre of player that we are going after then we are in for a long season.
  12. What is the point of Watford giving a manager a 2 year contract.
  13. Come on Chaddy he is no way near Benrahma's standard . Rothwell is actually older than Benrahma and Benrahma scored more goals this season alone than Rothwell has in his entire career. Not to mention the fact that Benrahma has 18 more assists over the last 2 seasons. I'd say he's more comparable with someone like Kasey Palmer than Benrahma. Like Palmer he has ability but no football brain, no end product and is shackled by Mowbray.
  14. Dyche has just finished 10th in the Premier League with Burnley, I would suggest that he doesn't need to evolve his football. He also finished 13 points ahead of Graham Potter despite Potter spending spending £70 million on players this season which is about what Dyche has spent over the last 3 seasons combined. You get no extra points for winning pretty, 3 points is 3 points.
  15. We won't be seeing any new signings in the first starting 11 of the season. The season starts a month today so there is no way near enough time for Tony to integrate them and teach them how to play his style of football
  16. To play the style Mowbray wants to play you need a centre back who is comfortable on the ball and a central midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball. We don't have either of those and to get them will cost good money and that is without even considering the fact we have to sign 2 keepers and a left back as well, as a minimum. Mowbray might want to play this fantasy football style of his but fantasy is all that it will ever be.
  17. Bit Harsh on Jackson he scored as many goals in 5 months as Brereton has in 2 years.
  18. I'd rather a ball tackling and ball heading centre back myself.
  19. To be honest you couldn't play many system's with our squad. We've got no goalie, no left back, just one centre back and one barely used winger.
  20. The flaw with that argument is that the last manager they appointed is the person who you want to continue managing us. So you obviously have some faith in their decision making.
  21. There are far better managers than Mowbray about out there as well. This club cannot continue to plod along in mid table whilst he builds up his pension pot.
  22. Someone ought to tell Tony and Waggott that he's a young striker they'd soon have the cheque book out then.
