It is rather strange that he seems to think that our place is in the third tier even though we have only spent only 6 of our entire history in it. The only clubs who financially we cannot compete with are the relegated clubs but that goes for every other club in the decision. Perhaps Derby as well but that is only because they seem to have very switched on people running their club.

I follow a fair bit of Eastern European football, so I have seen a bit of him play. I can't say he has ever really stood out to me but as I said he rarely starts and is used mainly from the bench. He certainly doesn't fit they style that Mowbray talks about and I wouldn't be going near him for the fee that is being quoted but for a more reasonable fee I think he could add a bit more steel and strength to the midfield.

Big tall lad, strong, decent in the tackle but not the best on the ball. Mainly used from the bench by CSKA. Wouldn't surprise me if he were to leave them as if CSKA want to add any non-Russian players this window (and given the way they have started they may well want to) then they would need get rid of one of their non Russian players and he would probably be the mostly likely one that they would want to get rid of.

You yourself have just acknowledged that we can compete with the 10 clubs I mentioned in my previous post. And in that I didn't mention the likes of Reading, Brentford, Huddersfield and Swansea. So we can quite easily compete in this division, clubs who supporters should be saying they can't compete are sides like Luton and Wycombe. Plenty of sides have been promoted over the last few who you would have probably classed as not being able to compete for examples the likes of Cardiff, Huddersfield, Norwich and Sheffield United. The one thing we are really missing is a manager to cleverly work the market and to get that extra 5% out of his team.

I think you can probably add Huddersfield and Swansea to that now.

Wycombe, Luton, Rotherham, Barnsley, Preston, Millwall, Coventry, Birmingham, QPR, Sheffield Wednesday. There's 10 that we can compete with just of the top of my head.

Not sure why people seem so convinced that Kipre will be stuck on the bench at WBA, although if he takes the attitude that his is going to be, then he will. But I suspect he will look at West Brom's centre back options and think that with his ability there is no reason why he can't dislodge them

Kipre would be a great signing. The type of player who we have needed for years and would certainly have me feeling much more optimistic about the new season. Be great if we could get Williams out the door as well and even better if we could get a decent fee. I always thought he was a decent full back certainly better than Bell, but regardless of what Williams says he is not and never will be centre half. If we can get Kipre through the door, I'd say that leaves us needing probably 4 more. Another centre back, a left back, a central midfielder and another attacking option. I do still worry about the right back position as well because Nyambe picks up far too many knocks for my liking.

Lowe would have been a good signing for us. Ideal for Mowbray's wide striker role.

I see Norwich have just signed Hugill. What a strange club they are, they got into the Premiership and barely spent a penny yet since relegation they have spent money on Dowell, Hugill & a few others from abroad.
