Championship Season 2020 - 2021
Ewood Ace replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If Mowbray were to be sacked the only job in the Championship he would get would be one similar to the one he got here, a side battling against relegation. -
Good luck to him but I fear that he has joined a sinking ship.

If we do end up loaning in another young keeper then it makes the decision to sell Raya a very odd one and I say that as someone who thought selling Raya was a good decision. When Raya was sold I assumed that we were going to be signing an experienced keeper on a permanent deal, Infact David Marshall on a free was the name I suggested. It makes no sense to get rid of a young keeper who made mistakes but who had years ahead of him to improve and replace him with other clubs young keepers of a similar standard. Instead of developing our own keeper for our club we are developing other clubs for them.

Time to move on from Downing (unless of course he has already signed but it hasn't been announced) it's been nearly three weeks since it was announced he had been offered terms, if he hasn't signed by now then his heart obviously isn't in it. Let's not allow him to take the piss with his contract offer like we did with Rodwell last summer.
-
Why wouldn't they?
-
No reason why Marshall wouldn't have at least another 3 years in him. Even if he only had 2 years in him that would be double the amount of time we would have a loan player for

Cracking game of cricket going on at Northampton. 21 Wickets yesterday and in the morning session today 7 wicket and 160 runs.
-
Just because he's at Man City it doesn't automatically mean he's good. Jack Byrne was at Man City when he was around the same age as Muric and he wasn't much of it. Palmer was at Chelsea at a similar age and you weren't a fan of him.
-
Chaddy he plays for Kosovo not Brazil. He has 10 caps for his country, Louis Annesley has 9 for his country but I don't see you advocating playing him at centre back.
-
There was last summer as well.
-
Mowbray is no Chris Wilder though

Worst Rovers signing ever?
Ewood Ace replied to bigbrandjohn's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My own personal favourite was Dennis Irwin who we had for three seasons and barely played a game Yakubu -
It must be Armstrong. The only two players we have worth £10 Million+ are Armstrong and Dack but I can't see a side in the current financial climate risking that on Dack due to his injury. If it is for Armstrong I wouldn't sell he's only going to get better and this time next year he could well be worth closer to £20 Million. If a £10 Million is for anyone but Dack or Armstrong then we should take it because whoever is offering that would be overpaying.

Worst Rovers signing ever?

In terms of ability it would have to be Myles Anderson. In terms of attitude & conduct Best & Murphy. In terms of fee Brereton. -
No he's fit and ready to play. He's in the bubble at the ground as a reserve.

Good day for Pakistan that, a shame to see Babar go early but a lovely paced innings from Masood. For the second successive day poor bowling after lunch and that has allowed Pakistan to get up to a good score. Although it was terrible captaincy from Root by bowling himself and Dom he handed them the initiative. Why we are continuously leaving our best spinner out of the team baffles me.

I wouldn't say I am, he was a fine player but one of the greats absolutely not. It's like with Stuart Broad when he got his 500th wicket the other day, I saw people calling him one of the all time great quick bowlers which is ridiculous. Again Broad like Botham is a fine cricketer who has produced some memorable moments down the years but great he is no way near being one of the all time great quick bowlers, he wouldn't even make the top 20 English seam bowlers of all time let alone the world. And that is the problem that people get so wrapped up in their own eras that they forget all the great players who played the game long before many of us were even born.
-
Root gone now.
-
Certainly wouldn't be in my greatest England team. So did Harold Larwood. Not only did he play with some of England's and the games greatest ever players but he also played against the greatest ever the has and will ever see and Larwood thought Botham to be overrated. Where did I say this. I said he I don't consider Botham to be one the games greatest ever. I said nothing about modern players having better stats Infact of the players I named only one of them played post Botham. I don't just claim to have, I have. I've been a member at Taunton since before Botham got into the Somerset team.

But all sides get injuries Chaddy. Take Bristol City who finished one place behind us they had Afobe out injured for nearly the whole season, if he's fit we might well have finished 12th. Preston had Daniel Johnson injured for a while if he's fit they probably pick up a few more points so even with a fit Dack we may not have caught them. Lolley at Forest picked up a knock towards the end of the season if he stays fit they probably score that one extra goal to make the play offs and we end up even further away from them. Every club will look back on injuries sustained over the course of the season and curse their luck but that's football, all sides get injuries but at the end of the day the league table over 46 games does not lie. They been playing together for 2 and half years.
-
Why don't you also point out why the club needs that money put into it every year?
-
But is Armstrong scoring all those goals if Dack is fit? He hasn't scored that amount goals before when he has played in the same team as Dack. But it's all hypothetical, injuries are part of football and the table at the end of the season doesn't lie.
