How many other teams in the Championship could put out a front 3 that cost £15 Million? Not that many I'd guess.
-
Reed is a premier league standard midfielder as he will show this season. Travis is overrated by some Rovers fans most likely due to the fact that he came through from the under 18's. Don't get me wrong Travis is a good Championship midfielder but to hear the way some Rovers fans talk about him you'd think we had a modern day Roy Keane on our hands. The first 3 points are up for grabs on Saturday. They count for exactly the same after the window has shut.
-
Reed is twice the player of any of our current central midfielders. Leutwiler was better cover than Fisher is. Samuel wasn't much of it but he was a better option than Brereton, last season he managed double the amount of goals that Brereton did despite being injured for at least half of it. We are yet to see if we will be better of without Raya but we all know that Raya is a decent Championship goalie. Hart and Galdwin are irrelevant as they did not play in that season.
-
You said doomed for relegation. In fact you said it twice
-
No one said that squad is doomed for relegation from day one. Not for the first time you are arguing with yourself.

Given we were going to pay £900K plus wages for Kipre, we would have easily been able to afford his wages. Unless of course the Kipre story was some window dressing by the club.
-
You don't need to be a agent or football expert all you need to have is an ounce of commons sense. If a side are singing a player who could improve their team over the next 3,4,5 years do you really think they would turn him down because he has to quarantine for 14 days?
-
That's an excellent signing. If we had any ambition for this season then that is exactly the sort of player we should be trying for.
-
No club will have not signed signed a player because they would have to quarantine for 2 weeks.
-
You aren't going to win many headers if you don't leave the ground, I can assure you of that. No I wasn't a Tosin fan he's was no way near dominant enough defensively given his stature
-
It has never worked when Dack has played that role previously. He is a number 10, not a 9 or false 9 and Armstrong is a striker not a winger. Play our most dangerous goal threat's in their best and most effective positions.
-
Use your eyes instead of useless stats that do not tell the real story. The reason he is only competing 4 times in the air is because most of the time he doesn't get of the ground to challenge. I'd be expecting my centre half to win a lot more than 3 headers in a game.

Perish the thought.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021
Ewood Ace replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We will see when the window shut's but the closer it gets to closing with us not having brought anyone in then the more likely we are to see panic signings like Brereton and Walton in the previous 2 seasons. -
Not sure why you always seem to have such a downer on Wharton but he is a far better centre half than Magloire for one simple reason he can head the ball. Magloire appears to be unable to head the ball and if you are going to make it as a centre back then you are going to have to be able to head it.

Championship Season 2020 - 2021

We have panic bought plenty over the last 2 season and the closer the deadline gets without any incomings the more likely a panic buy is. It's clear that there is no recruitment plan in place at Ewood like there is at Brentford. -

Of course they will go that is how Brentford operate. But they have already recruited one replacement in Toney to ensure that they won't be scraping around looking for a panic buy. -
I've always thought he is a better left back than centre back and he is certainly a better option there than Bell. Ideally we bring someone in this week who goes straight in at left back but I'm not holding my breath on that front.
-
Very tough start and even if we bring anyone in this week I can't see them featuring. I'd go with the following line up. Kaminski Nyambe Lenihan Wharton Williams Travis Evans JRC Holtby Rothwell Armstrong Subs: Fisher, Magloire, Johnson, Davenport, Chapman, Dolan, Gallagher
-
Set to. So they haven't yet. One thing is for sure both those sides are heading into the opening game of the season with far stronger squads than us. Glenn Murray knows how to score goals and he will at this level. Even at 36 I'd take him over Brereton and Gallagher.
-
His Scotland career is over, he knows that. If we want him gone then we are going to have to pay him up or pay and large chunk of his wages whilst he is at another club. Looking at their respective squads I'd say that they are in significantly less need of new signings than we are. Also Watford have made a signing, they signed Glenn Murray But Chaddy it's not just this summer its every summer. As I said earlier the defence we will most likely line up with at Bournemouth will most likely be made up of 75% of our relegation defence. We've had years to sort it out and are still likely to be scrapping around for a cheap cast off come the end of the window, it is unacceptable.
-
That makes it okay then.
-
Then we should pay up the contract that we gave him if he isn't required. Why do you expect a 34 year old to walk away from the last big contract of his career? If we want him gone then it is quite simple, pay him off. It's only because of Mowbray's failure to see the obvious and going round handing out new contracts like sweets after promotion that we are stuck with him on the wage bill. If he wasn't so generous with contracts for his favourites then Mulgrew, Williams and Bennett would all be of the wage bill by now and we wouldn't have had to pay Smallwood for doing nothing last year either. It's just another example of Mowbray wasting the clubs funds.
-
They only way that defence will stay in the Championship is if the attackers bail them out. Williams, Lenihan and Nyambe have already been part of a relegated Championship defence (although Nyambe is greatly improved since) and we all know that Bell is not of Championship standard. It's a sad indictment of Mowbray's transfer dealings that 75% of our defence is still the defence that was relegated 3 years and the one signing he has made is the worst of the 4.

Sounds like Matt Elliott.
