  1. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/09/watch-rovers-against-the-rams-live-/ Italy is lovely at this time of year
  2. Sammie is there - end of video Would still be amazed if he is named in the squad, even on the bench. But for me, it is the right call to at least have him on the bench
  3. In theory, absolutely I seem to recall a couple of players threatening to strike unless they were allowed their moves, which then left their clubs deciding whether they should sell or keep a player who was threatening to go awol (which if it happened would negatively impact his future transfer value)
  4. Would be difficult to implement, as not all Leagues have the same on/off season. the Irish League, and at least a few Scandinavian & Eastern European leagues play more so during summer, whilst it is a winter sport for most
  5. Yes Not sure if this game (due to the Sky thing) will be available in all the usual territories, although if you can make it to Italy, then that seems to work well
  6. They tired that a couple of years ago. Didn't work as leagues that had a window that closed later started poaching players and teams couldn't replace them The only way it would even remotely work is if every league in Europe was open and closed at the same time. But that wouldn't stop Saudi teams etc poaching players
  7. Not sure if anyone has noticed, but if you try to buy a shirt and the click "add personalisation" there is a list of squad numbers which appears to have been updated for this season https://www.roverstore.co.uk/kit/2425-home-kit/adults/3595_blackburn-rovers-macron-home-shirt-202425-mens.html Fadz 4, Weimann 14, Batth, 15, Gueye 9, no Ohashi though RE Keepers, especially with both Waggott and Gestede saying 2/3 more signings, I did notice Pears is 1 Hilton is 13 Barrett is 34 (which I think was Hiltons number last season) Can we read anything into that?
  8. All of those 4 will be on £5K/week or less, so would anticipate if Rovers do have to get wages off the books in order to bring more players in, then if those are the 4 out, then it will probably be 2 in
  9. He has played at League 1 level before, albeit when he was 18 years old and in a Crewe side that was getting beat every week and was ultimately relegated https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/connor-oriordan/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/929715/plus/0?saison=&verein=&liga=3&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= Agree that a loan at a League 1 club who are not whipping boys would do him good
  10. Apparently Gallagher will be missing for Stoke for a "few weeks" with a stiff calf https://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/bae-junho-injury-update-stoke-9469884
  11. Or just say "gay" with a fake French accent 😉 Gets you close enough
  12. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/08/steve-waggott-speaks-ahead-of-2024-25/
  13. Apparently he is an injury doubt https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24505446.derby-two-fitness-doubts-boss-gives-blackburn-verdict/
  14. Agree, its not something they would neglect to mention They are are normally pretty good at announcing that the player has an option in the initial signing/contract renewal story, but this detail was not included in the Hyam signing story https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/august/28/dom-deal-done-/
  15. I didn't want to say this earlier and ruin my viewing fun, but seeing as the Hyam contract situation has now been put to bed Jalil Saadi has evidentially (based on appearing in pre season) signed a new contract which has not been announced by the club. Obviously a different situation as Hyam was club captain for the second half of last season, whereas Saadi is for all intents and purposes an overage U21 player, but it does highlight how bad the club are with communication,
  16. Not to say he is anywhere near as good, but 24 years ago you could have substituted PSV for Liverpool, and Drommel for Friedel
  17. I would assume that the more obvious choices are the ones the club is trying to sell, so he is hedging his bets for as long as possible
  18. Fair enough, but in terms of game time/standing within the squad (practically none under Eustace), Telalovic could be seen as being replaced by Vale, who wasn't here last season
  19. I think its a maximum of 8 loans over the course of a season, but only 5 in any matchday squad
  20. Can see Cardiff being this years Hull, spend a load on wages & loans, threaten to get in the playoffs, ultimately fail, and end up with next to no squad next summer because almost all of them were loans and 1 year contracts on high wages that they cant afford to keep
  21. I agree with pretty much everything you wrote here Wednesday are this years Stoke/Birmingham As in they made some ok signings early in the window, and fans of other clubs (who hadn't yet made signings) start casting a jealous eye. By the time the window is in full swing, the narrative of their great window is still alive and well, but if people were to have another look at their transfer business, then they will realise it it isn't any more than average. Cracking manager though, can see him being poached sooner rather than later, same goes for the guy at QPR
  22. a winger who turns 35 next month and has played about 450 minutes of football over the past 2 years?
