  1. As long as he did not play for Toulouse this season, yes, although they would need to recall him and send him back out (like we did with Markanday) Edit - just checked, he has not played for Toulouse this season https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ibrahim-cissoko/leistungsdaten/spieler/575693
  2. I do not disagree, but sensible tends not to be how Rovers are run these days
  3. We apparently have a 23 man squad at the moment, leaving 2 spaces, I can see us bringing in a wide player and then maybe a loan for a left back, before we are told that there was no space left in the squad for a striker signing (which coincidentally would have been a multi million £ signing that they would have loved to get done)
  4. I'm sure they "would like to". They would also probably "like" one of those to be Haaland 😉
  5. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2025/january/28/report--derby-county-under-21s-0-0-rovers-under-21s/
  6. Starts this evening for Markanday - won 6-2 - set up the opening goal and scored the 4th before being replaced at half time with the score at 4-0 O'Riordan - drew 1-1 Batty - drew 0-0 - replaced after 63 minutes with the score at 0-0 Eastham - won 3-1 - Ashton Utd are 3rd in the table, have won 5 of their last 6, conceding only 2 goals in that run. Eastham fared similarly last season in the same division at Hyde (I think they missed out on play offs on final day). Whilst I do not think he will make it at Rovers, It seems to me he is possibly too good for the league he is in, and despite his height disadvantage, I am somewhat surprised that he has not had a chance slightly higher up the pyramid. On the bench - Not involved in matchday squad Olson - won 2-1 - Likely being rested as this is a National League Cup game, either that or he may be cup tied as he played in this competition for Rovers vs Altrincham earlier in the season Bell - drew 1-1 Wood - lost 3-0 Play on Wednesday Duru - score/update - game is on Sky Sports +
  7. The U18s (or possibly U17s) are away to Derby in the quarter final of the Premier League Cup this evening. Not sure we get any updates from this beyond a full time score lost 5-1 - no news on goal scorers etc Team news Thompson Leeming Eze Davies Pates Mansbridge Dunn Leatherbarrow Vare Sargeant Joseph Subs Wolsoncroft, Kelley-Quinn, Potter, Dlamini, Higgins
  8. I thought that Elliott Jackson had just given up completely this week and gone on holiday. But he has a transfer story (kinda, but nothing new) https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/24891249.kargbo-transfer-latest-blackburns-january-window-plans/
  9. You are discounting that we have probably spent less than £3M in total on all incoming transfers this season, No chance of them shelling out that much on one player
  10. He has started 15 out of 25 for them including 10 of the the past 11 games https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikey-johnston/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/297257/wettbewerb/GB2/saison/2024
  11. He is injured. Up until that point he had played in all but 2 league games & is Ipswich's 2nd highest goal scorer this season
  12. Rovers U21s are away to Derby this evening, Tyjon is apparently one of several who are injured score/update
  13. A managerial change which may impact Jack Vales playing time etc. He seemed to be a favourite of Kettlewells when fit, or maybe just the best striker available to Motherwell at present
  14. Because Hulls owner would pay the necessary loan fees etc
  15. I don't think "the rumour" is true, but we didn't get £5M for either Kaminski or Raya, so no chance of seeing that amount for Pears if it was true
  16. We didn't, Its the same model, just Broughtons job is/was now done by a combination of Gestede, Adam Owen, Stuart Jones (whilst he is still here) & John Park (when he was here) all with non director job titles, which means their combined pay is likely less than Broughtons Cost cutting exercise
  17. Looks like he can even sign players now too We are delighted to welcome Jonathan Bamba to Chicago as our fifth signing of this transfer window, and our first DP signing this year. 5th signing in 1 window! we can only dream!
  18. likely, because we probably didn't get much of an up front fee for him, so would have hoped a sell of fee might even things out If he goes for a decent amount, then that's another 6 months Venkys will get away with not funding us before it all implodes
  19. Maybe Gregg did know what he was doing after all Certainly knew how to get a contract extended for someone in the first team squad, which has not happened since his departure
  20. That was my thinking, Duru certainly no giant, but Alan Wright would have looked at home in a hat holding a fishing rod in the garden. He was a great left back though
  21. Would explain the lack of a transfer budget if that's the case given how many they would have had to buy the silence of
  22. I would have thought Duru had 5 or 6 inches on Alan Wright. Not the most scientific of methods, but just looking at pictures of them, Alan Wright looked to have the body of a child compared to his peers (not that he wasn't a wonderful full back regardless)
  23. If the owners were willing to spend anything (I know, I know) , that is a great shout for me O'Brien is more box to box than a sitting midfielder for me, which means he would be competing with Travis rather than Tronstad, whereas Ronaldo Viera (at least if I remember him correctly) is more a Tronstad type than a Travis, Obviously in an ideal world you would want cover/competition for both, but with Tronstad missing for the next month or so, a sitting midfielder is of more urgent need than competition/cover for Travis
  24. Especially considering the powers that be seem either unable or unwilling to extend the contracts of our established first team players
