Barrow also picked up Tom White after Rovers released him a few years ago https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2019/november/white-makes-barrow-switch/ Seems to be working for them, most successful period in their history isn't it? No clue how much Barrow use data in recruitment, but to be honest, it seems a very sensible strategy for localish lower league teams to pick up our cast offs, just as Rovers pick up academy cast offs from Man Utd, Everton,, Man City, Liverpool etc. I would have thought Accrington should have been at it for years (including being after loans from Rovers too)

He likes to play from the right, but he can play on the left. As I said previously, he is more than capable of playing from the left if required. I did not state that he preferred to play on the left. Rankin-Costello has said numerous times that he prefers to play further forward rather than as a right back, but you have no problem stating that you would prefer to see him as a right back (I am not having a go, but players can & should l do what is required of them) Given how Eustace likes to set up, I can see Cozier-Duberry playing more often on the right when Beck starts at left back, and on the left when Pickering starts at left back In an ideal world *, another wide player would also have been signed (Godo would seem to be the one that got away) * In a truly ideal world Rovers would have bought 2 wide players but hey ho -

Cozier-Duberry is a left footed wide player as opposed to a winger. He can play both sides. Most of his highlights are when he has come in and curled one into the top corner, because these are obviously spectacular, but he is more than capable of stretching play from the left side if needed -

JRC spent the majority of his time at U21 level playing wide left cutting inside onto his right foot. He did also feature in central midfield and wide right, And I am pretty certain that before he joined Rovers, he was a centre forward and then centre back for Man Utd at academy level There was part of one season where the U21s played 3 centre backs and he did play at right wing back during that period. For me, JRC dies his best work centrally, whether that has been as an inverted full back in 22/23, or in the period at the beginning of last season (before the wheels fell off Rovers season) when he played in central midfield, with Hill at right back and Brittain wide right. He has never had the pace to knock it past his full back and go down the outside to get a cross in, but his movement is excellent, and based on what he did as an inverted full back, there is no reason why he couldn't replicate that from a more advanced position (as Eustace has been trialing) if and when he is fully fit. -

Goddard's Dundalk lost 2-1 to top pf the table St. Patricks. Former Rovers U21 Dan Pike also played Northern Ireland U21 play England U21 tonight at 7:45pm. Atcheson may feature (if fit). I think this link on the BBC site will show the game live -
Elite Significant Contribution Which is probably the only time in their careers that elite will be used in any way to describe Wahlstedt & Telalovic

Montgomery started earlier this week for Marine in a 2-0 loss. Atcheson has not featured for them in a few weeks since coming off early with a head injury, fingers crossed it is precautionary rather than anything serious. But he has been named in the Northern Ireland U21 squad who play England tomorrow night on live on BBC Sport and Tuesday v Ukraine Goddard should play tonight for Dundalk A few should feature on Saturday Garrett will be on Sky Sports + at 3pm for Bristol v Barnsley (who may have Gent in the side) As will Markanday for Chesterfield v Grimsby, Batty for Accrington v Notts County There are also fixtures on Saturday at 3pm for Fylde (Gamble), Marine (Montgomery), Annan (Wood), Bamber Bridge (Michalski & Mullarkey-Matthews), Macclesfield (Boggan) & Clitheroe (Honor) -
I haven't watched it, and not sure I could bring myself to watch season 1, but season 2 sounds like comedy gold. I am sure that I can pick it up from there and fill in the blanks from memory

That's the main point (in bold) for me. Shearer was never involved in a team that dominated the ball and created as many chances as Man City do now. Haaland is a truly wonderful goal scorer. I think that the version of Shearer that we had at Rovers was better, and if you could drop him through time into Haalands spot in the Man City squad, he would outscore him

Window in several countries is still open, Turkey, Belgium, Portugal, Greece, Netherlands to name a few, should any of their players still want to force a move

Able to consistently and effectively play through team operating a high press. Take the ball from the defence and distribute forwards quickly, exploiting the space left by the team that is trying to press. Good on the ball, able to play in tight spaces, and good decision making. Whilst many of these new terms are a little silly, this one does make sense and is a much shorter descriptor.

The real test for the dingles is Scott Parkers lack of a footballing brain. Much like Southampton last season, if the dingles do well this year (and they should), it will be in spite of their inept manager

Didn't stand out as particularly good or bad to be honest, wasn't on the pitch for long, and we were down to 10 at that point, so not the best time for anyone to try and showcase themselves. If I had to make an early call on him, he doesn't look to be anything more than a squad filler which is fine, as Travis and Tronstad have been a decent pairing so far this term. Had a shot late on where he might have done better, unless my mind is playing tricks on me

It is 4 assists in 4 games now (in the League) for Gueye isn't it? You may have to revise that prediction upwards -
Out of interest, how have your former Rovers done so far? and how accurately did we describe them? Quick summery of what we thought from what I can recall is pretty much the following, but correct me if I am wrong Gally - Useful at what he does, but cant score goals and is injured too much Moran - Skillful but no fight/inconsistent Phillips - Not a right back, probably Stokes best centre back already Ennis - Not a Championship level footballer

Hope the officials see at half time what a mess they made of disallowing that goal and subconsciously give Rovers a few marginals (and a dodgy pen or 3) in the second half
