John Park not being replaced in the immediate future as our first 2 choices turned us down https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25060225.blackburn-backroom-role-revealed-chief-scout-latest/ I am sure we would all sour on a prospective new job role as soon as we found out the the remuneration was a bag of Haribo and a half empty can of pop "We interviewed a few individuals. One was successful. So we made him an offer and then he decided to stay in his club because he had a better offer and the role was, it's a bigger club than us," Gestede told The Lancashire Telegraph. "He decided to stay there and the number two decided to pull out the application because he had something else. But at the end of the day, he didn't sign for the other club. "So it's, we don't want to rush the decision on bringing someone. We had a clear target and it didn't happen. So we had to change the way we wanted to do. "So we brought two video analysts and one senior scout to the club. We've also got someone joining us as a lead scout (Cairney). "In the future, it could happen. We're quite happy with the person in the position now. So it's not something urgent. "But if we start to grow the department, yes, but if someone within the department is doing very well, why not promote the person." -

Batth, Weimann & Forshaw would be my guess. none would require a pay rise. Possibly first pro deals for Tyjon (with much fanfare about planning for the future) now that he has turned 17, and Dunn (if he is old enough) -

Yesterdays interviews/propaganda indicated that any other gaps in the squad will be filled with kids from the academy. I am particularly referencing the part where he said about getting back to 2000+ minutes on the pitch for academy graduates -

2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

Just to take him at face value (I know, I know), the positions that we want to sign are... Centre back - presumably with Hyam (a high earner due a contract renewal) leaving Box to box midfielder - presumably with either Travis or Tronstad (high earners due a contract renewal) leaving Right back - presumably with Brittain (due a contract renewal and wage increase) leaving Right winger - presumably with Dolan (due a contract renewal and wage increase) leaving Striker - presumably whilst trying to shift Cantwell (a high earner) if at all possible It does seem to me to be a huge coincidence that all of the positions that they want to buy players in, just so happen to also be the positions where our current top earners (or those due a pay increase) operate. I am sure that the narrative will be that they didn't fit how Ismael wanted to play. In some cases, this may even be true. I cannot see Cantwell working in the high pressing, high intensity team that we are told we will become. But why do I get the feeling that all of these signings will be on significantly less money than those who they replace? -

Starts this evening for O'Riordan - won 2-0 Batty - lost 4-1 Litherland - won 3-2 - result moves them into the play off spots On the bench Markanday - lost 2-1 - came on for the final 10 minutes with the score at 2-1 Not involved in matchday squad Garrett - lost 3-2 - unsure if injured or dropped Duru - drew 1-1 - currently injured Olson - lost 2-1 - National League Cup game, looks like a reserve lineup, or player is cup tied? Powell - lost 2-1 - National League Cup game, looks like a reserve lineup, or player is cup tied? -
Had an operation, back for pre season

Calf injury, been injured for 2-3 months Prior to his injury, he had 6 goals in 14 this season, (one of those 14 games being his 1 minute Championship debut) which for a 16 year old at U21 level isn't too bad at all

U16s, U15s etc, right down to primary school age teams, but they are generally not mentioned as they are literal schoolchildren But yes, the "age group teams" stop after U21s these days, for all English clubs, not just Rovers -
U21s lost 2-1 to Liverpool in a behind closed doors friendly this weekend, Pickering played and Boggan scored for Rovers They played again this evening away to Wolves, won 2-0 Boggan with both goals, Tyjon back from injury came off the bench Atcheson went off injured after less than 15 minutes

Regarding Hyam's contract extension I would imagine this has been activated only so that they can get a fee for him in the summer (similar to Gallagher's option being taken up before he was sold last year) Edit - U21s were away to Liverpool this weekend -

I am assuming that it is all pork based products, and not specifically ham. But I did originally spend 5 minutes wondering if Ham was a person on Rovers staff -

Atcheson (18) & Litherland (19) look to me to be capable of becoming Championship standard (at least) centre backs. I expect one of them to be in the first team squad next year as 4th/5th choice, and the other to get a League 2 loan. The academy players with the most potential are probably Tyjon, Dunn & Higgins, who are still 16 (although Tyjon turned 17 a week ago) so too early for them to be loaned out. Obviously the first 2 of them have only 1 year left on their current scholarship deals, and the other has yet to even sign a scholarship deal as things currently stand As well as the 2 full backs that you have mentioned, Powell (19) also looks like a decent attacking left back. Others that we may see in the next couple of years are England U18 keeper Nick Michalski, & young midfielders James Edmondson (19), & Harley O'Grady-Macken (20)
