2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂

That was and is definitely still the case, they also owned Granada in Spain at one point as well. They definitely buy and loan players from Udinese too https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c805xx7jrrlo#:~:text=Watford have signed goalkeeper Egil, year contract at Vicarage Road. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cp9xngvjrd9o The part I wasn't sure about is if they had been in trouble about anything, or that the rules/laws had been changed because of their actions -

I suppose that they could, but I imagine due to the ownership situation, the dingles may then petition that compensation should be paid as Egan-Riley is 22, so if he moved directly to Chelsea, then a fee/compensation would be due. I would guess that 1 transfer window is probably enough time for them to negate those claims But the above is all just guesswork on my part -

Chelsea signing dingle Egan-Riley on a free transfer via the back door Imagine he will stay in France for 6 months a year or so before being transferred to Chelsea in some form of swap deal -

I don't think the suggestion is a flat £100K, it states that based on the model they used would benefit 400 clubs by more than £100K each. It would though be interesting to see based on the suggested model, who would receive what exactly -
Surely you are not implying that those people inside the magic picture box are being anything less than 100% truthful and honest? My worldview is collapsing 😉

This actually sounds like a good idea. Not that Rovers will benefit, as income doesn't affect the budget https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25160312.proposed-rule-land-blackburn-rovers-windfall-uefa/ UEFA has been urged to consider a new rule which could see a percentage of prize money distributed to Rovers and other clubs. The policy, known as the Player Development Reward, has been proposed by the Union of European Clubs (UEC). It would see at least five per cent of prize money from the Champions League and other UEFA competitions distributed to non-competing clubs who have developed players. For example, Rovers could receive a reward for producing David Raya after the goalkeeper helped Arsenal reach the semi-final. The Gunners overcame Real Madrid en route to the last four, where they were beaten by Paris Saint-Germain over two legs. Raya progressed through the Academy ranks at Ewood Park and went on to make more than 100 appearances for the first team. The goalkeeper was snapped up by Brentford in the summer of 2019 and was promoted with the Bees in 2020/21. He headed to Arsenal in the summer of 2023, initially on a loan deal before completing a permanent switch to the Emirates. The proposed rule would see funds distributed to clubs based on the minutes played in UEFA Competitions and prize money earned. Only clubs who are not competing would be eligible to ensure that “support goes to clubs whose work often goes unrecognised”. UEC claim that simulations based on recent seasons show nearly 1,500 clubs across Europe would have received payments - from top divisions down to sixth tier teams - and more than 400 clubs would have received north of €100,000 each. A statement read: "This policy has the potential to deliver meaningful, long-term financial recognition and reward to clubs that fuel the professional game by developing its talent. "As football continues to evolve, the UEC remains committed to advocating for a fairer, more inclusive ecosystem where every club, regardless of size or budget, has the opportunity to thrive. The Player Development Reward is an important step toward that future." -

I'd settle for a club in League 2 fighting for promotion, at least for the first half season, but if he would be "guaranteed" starts in League 1, then absolutely Rovers need to start dictating (as best they can) how many minutes our loanees get, whilst they cannot say you must play so and so when fit/available (as I am pretty sure that would be against the rules) ,we can offer reduced wage coverage if they play more than X number of minutes they are available for, in order to tip the scales (not sure if penalty clauses would be viable when dealing with lower league clubs, but if they are then that's another possibility) -

If we are looking at hunches & guesswork, then surely Sanderson is more likely to end up at Derby than he is to turn up at Rovers, and also more likely to be at Derby next season than Dolan? (there are plenty on here that see Dolan to Derby as a sure thing, I don't buy it personally, but if anyone does think it will happen, then by the same logic, then Sanderson to Derby should be even more nailed on) Sanderson is a player that Eustace signed is it 3 times now? (loan at Rovers & loan & permanent transfers to Brum), as well as Eustace also being assistant manager when Sanderson was on loan at QPR. Eustace also made Sanderson captain at Birmingham. In fact a quick google throws this story up -

He is still under contract for another year, so unless there is a buy out clause (unlikely considering the length of his contract), if a club bids for him, then Rovers can technically hold out for whatever fee they see fitting -
I was trying to work out of it was the same watch as the one he was wearing a year ago when he signed his first pro deal, or if he had a collection https://www.instagram.com/p/C8-BN8otLqt/?img_index=1

This should genuinely be made one of the main points of any protests - at least on line Even those with the worst case of Stockholm syndrome cannot fail to see a video clip of Gestede stating this and not think something is wrong with how we are run -

If sales had any impact on budget (but they don't) , then a sale now or in January might make sense. Another option if Rovers were a normal club (but we are not) would be taking advantage of his recent injury situation to tie him down to a longer contract on lower terms than we may normally expect, (presuming any interest in him has cooled whilst he has been unavailable) with the aim of selling him on in his prime However, Rovers under Venkys will presumably take option 3, of letting his contract expire in 2 years time -

Pretty sure that there are also UEFA and/or FIFA guidelines on compensation, but they are not as generous as if he had staying in England, so means a much lower fee yes Edit - In addition, no compensation is payable if the player moves abroad. However, Training Compensation may be due in accordance with FIFA Regulations FIFA regulations, - should anyone want to have a look/work it out -

I think the Newcastle links turned out to be someone at the Daily Mail getting him mixed up with Carter-Vickers. Who they were linked with before he moved to Celtic https://onefootball.com/en/news/newcastle-and-celtic-eye-move-for-cameron-carter-vickers-33682174 But whether those rumours are true or not, yes he has a lot of potential and could do a job for a more ambitious side -
