  1. Tyjon is back in training, but tonight's game "will probably come too soon for him"
  2. Was a shame for both of those that their bodies seemed to be made out of something no sterner than soggy Weetabix (as was Jones)
  3. I do not think it is, I just think it is having an eye for a player. But you are of course entitled to your own opinion on that Jones, I had as having the potential to be certainly a regular England squad member, and possibly a regular in the England team, given the relative dearth of centre back talent available in a post Campbell, Ferdinand, Terry world.. Obviously injures put paid to that As for above Adams, no. He, like the other 3 I mentioned were genuinely some of the best in the business during the height of their careers
  4. Wharton now is superior to Carrick in his prime by some distance. Carrick was a great player, misused by England due to an obsession with fitting Gerrard and Lampard into the same team, but he was neat and tidy, rather than playing the line breaking passes that Wharton does
  5. How would you feel if you didn't eat breakfast this morning?
  6. You have either not fully read, or completely misunderstood, my original post. Try reading it again
  7. bizarre considering the comments on his last game too
  8. Yes, which is why I started with the first line that I did But your question was not about general (or specific) circumstances, it was how, and I answered the question asked
  9. Obviously I didn't see the game, so I can only guess, but I was under the impression that Vare normally plays more the Szmodics role, and Farkas is more of a playmaker. So its possible the google line up had them mixed up based on their squad numbers?
  10. U18s won 2-1 away to Derby this afternoon. Vare with both goals for Rovers 3rd vs 4th in the table, Rovers lost the reverse 6-0 earlier in the season
  11. Starts this weekend for Saadi - lost 1-0 - Saadi was withdrawn after an hour with the score at 1-0 - game was played on Friday afternoon Markanday - lost 2-1 - withdrawn late on with Orient winning 1-0 O'Riordan - won 3-1 Eastham - lost 1-0 Barrett - lost 1-0 - Barrett saved a penalty Honor - lost 2-1 On the bench Garrett - drew 1-1 - Garrett came on for the last 15 minutes - NB this was under caretaker manager Andy Crosby Batty - lost 2-1 - named on the bench on a return from injury Not involved in matchday squad - All due to injury Vale - won 2-1 Olson - lost 2-0 Goddard - lost 3-2 Montgomery - lost 3-2 Play on Sunday Mafoumbi - lost 1-0 - not involved in matchday squad No game this weekend Duru - next play on Tuesday
  12. Purely in reference to the bold bit, See Roman Abramovich If it is the will of the authorities to get someone gone, then it happens However in Rovers case (and indeed in most cases), the authorities have no will to do this And whilst it probably will never come to fruition, apart from as some neutered, watered down version https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/19/football-governance-bill-reveals-extent-of-english-regulators-proposed-powers
  13. What happens if he starts both and then tomorrow Rovers offer Jack Vale a new 5 year contract? 😉
  14. No, probably not. At least not until the Wharton money (and subsequent sell on) dries up, when (assuming Venkys still refuse to send any money over) bills and obligations start to go unpaid and the administrators are called in. But as long as obligations are being met, they couldn't give a flying whatsit
  15. They will have a hard job with that, he is currently injured Niggly calf injury since mid December On the bright side, his injury issues & subsequent lack of game time may mean his list of suitors has decreased and he will sign a pro contract in March (when he turns 17)
  16. I hope that I am wrong but It all screams to me of further budget cuts and managed decline. Unless Rovers achieve an unlikely promotion, options will be taken up on Hyam & Hedges, but no new contracts will be agreed for any seniors who may command even middling (and certainly not higher end) Championship wages (Travis, Tronstad, Brittain, Hyam, Dolan). I do expect a year extension to be agreed for the Baath, Weimann, and probably even Forshaw, but a contract extension for Ribeiro may be a stretch given his age and form as I would imagine someone will offer him more. All that remains to be seen is if the players of any value who will be coming to the end of their contracts in 2026 (Travis, Tronstad, Brittain, Hyam) are sold off this summer, or if their contracts allowed to expire in order to kick the can down the road for another year.
  17. I think I remember someone saying 15-20% of any profit made, which (if true) is pretty standard
  18. It does seem that way, unless Rovers somehow manage to squeeze into the play offs
  19. No clue about their relationship But Dennis was initially played off the bench for Watford that season, before getting starts once he was fit and able to play longer. Pretty sure that I have heard Watford fans say he couldn't last longer than 20-30 minutes to start with and needed his fitness to be built up over 5-10 games Imagine that it will be a similar pattern at Rovers
  20. What's his dad ever done to you? 😉
  21. For whatever reason, Ismael only meets the squad today, according to the Rovers site Ismael’s work begins now, with the Frenchman set to meet his new squad - which includes familiar faces in the form of Callum Brittain, Cauley Woodrow and Emmanuel Dennis - on Thursday. I presume the squad must have Wednesdays off?
  22. Its not happening Benson, Lowe & Johnson have jobs for life at Rovers, as has been evidenced by them surviving a procession of managers/head coaches
  23. Wahlstedt was worse than both of them Joe Hilton was behind all 3 of those
  24. I think you are right, and the below quote seems to indicate that Sheron and Butler will also be promoted to first team duties, so can we maybe expect Lowe as assistant manager? “We must also say a big thank you to David Lowe, Damien Johnson, Ben Benson, Mike Sheron and Paul Butler for all their support during the interim period and they will form part of Valérien’s backroom staff at the Senior Training Centre going forward.” Edit - apparently Sheron & Butler are back with the U21s 2nd Edit - Dean Whitehead is now in place as Ismaels assistant, which makes the rest of this post superfluous
