KentExile replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Starts this evening for Powell played 87 minutes on his debut, replaced late on after Chorley went down to 10 men, whilst winning 1-0. won 1-0 Atcheson & Montgomery drew 2-2 Edmondson lost 2-1 Eastham lost 4-2, Eastham did save a penalty Honor lost 3-2 On the bench O'Riordan drew 1-1 Gamble lost 2-0 Not involved in matchday squad Garrett lost 2-0 Mullarkey-Matthews drew 1-1 -
was apparently playing in the U18s last season, so would assume 19 at the most (obviously may be younger)
-
I think this is in tier 9 which needs to be taken into consideration, but still young, and double figures already for the season Competition Teams Played For Appearances Goals Clean Sheets The Emirates F.A Cup Irlam 1 0 0 The Isuzu FA Vase Irlam 1 0 0 Premier Division Irlam 20 10 5 Manchester Premier Cup Irlam 2 2 2

I was expecting that we would see Gilsenan in an U21 squad before Pratt based on recent updates of Gilsenan's recovery
-
I am sure others have seen more of him than me, but so far, he does not seem to have stood out, Has a decent amount of pace, and looks better as in inside left forward cutting in, rather than as a central striker from what I've seen of him
-
Rovers have 2 games this afternoon, both at 1pm Central League Cup - away v Morecambe - entry is apparently free (with voluntary donations) Premier League Cup - home v Fleetwood
-
Looking slightly more into the context behind some of those numbers Tyjon has apparently played 528 minutes (spread across 8 games) for the U21s this season, which equates to a strike rate of about 1 in every 2 full games, which for a 16 year old in the U21s is not to be sneezed at Boggan, has 5 in 6 this season for the U18s Bloxham seems to be in the process of being converted to a right back (or at least experimenting with it) rather than a forward. Albeit only in the past 2/3 games The main goal threat for the U21s last season was Gilsenan with 13 goals in 15 games, and then 2 more goals in very limited minutes for the first team. He has not been available so far this term due to injury. For me, Rovers biggest issue with youngsters on the cusp of breaking through is they end up spending too much time sat on the first team bench or being the "21st man" and therefore not playing for any team (first/U21/U18/away on loan). Which is mainly caused by a lack of investment in the first team playing squad

If you mean the Tom Bloxham at Shrewsbury who scored against Birmingham yesterday. He is not the same player as ours -

New Zealand International centre back, 19 years old. Has been a fixture for Reading since the start of last season in League 1. Out of contract at the end of the season too. If Rovers had money, it would make sense, With the likely small pot (at best), I think most of us would want wide players and forwards as a priority. -

Starts this weekend for Markanday won 1-0 Atcheson & Montgomery won 2-0 Montgomery with an assist for the 2nd goal Edmondson won 6-0 Michalski lost 2-1 Honor lost 2-0 On the bench O'Riordan drew 0-0 Saadi drew 0-0 Not involved in match day squad Garrett won 1-0 Vale - still injured - lost 2-1 Farkas & Kahn - Kahn is not a surprise now that Michalski is back from international duty. Kahn also featured for the U21s yesterday. Farkas' loan ends tomorrow Wood kick off postponed until 4pm Edit - now 5pm kick off - lost 2-1 Game postponed Batty Gamble Eastham Mullarkey-Matthews -
U18s game at Sunderland also called off

Think you are probably right, Duru too But also possible that the timing of fitness tests meant that some players had to be omitted from travelling to (and back home from) an away trip in Essex just in case they are needed

He can sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club in January and move for free in the summer Anyone who wanted him for this season would still have to agree a fee though, It wouldn't be anywhere near £800K though. Would imagine £150k max

2 goals in 5 (all starts) so far, mainly playing as part of a deep midfield 2 from what I understand, but also occasionally as one of the 3 behind the striker. https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/macclesfield/appearances/james-edmondson/977878 From what I have read, Macclesfield are essentially the Man City (prior to Rodris injury) of non league, currently 10 points clear of second place, much more money than anyone else and a team/squad that is at least a tier ahead of the division that they are in (in terms of quality). Because Edmondson has been impressive and a first choice pick in midfield for them, playing close to every minute, I would suspect that the loan extension may put him in the frame for a second loan in January to a higher tier team -

Starts this evening for Eastham lost 4-2 Honor won 1-0 Batty not involved for Accrington tonight as they drew 2-2, must have failed a late fitness test Olson must either be injured or his loan did expire after a month rather than at the end of this month. Not sure which and cannot find anything either way. He is not Involved in Altrincham's National League Cup game which they lost 4-0 Not sure what has happened with Mullarkey-Matthews. He joined Bamber Bridge on a loan until January, but hasn't featured for them since September, possibly injured, possibly out of favour, but he did feature regularly in a short term loan for them last season, and scored in his last appearance for them, so suspect its an injury. To further confuse things, he featured for Rovers U18s at the beginning of November but hasn't been seen since. He is not involved in their squad tonight as they won 3-2 -

Or if the powers that be even mention it -
The list I was adding them to was BlueBruces list of the better prospects we currently have, I was not stating that either of them would be Premier League players.
-
Tyjon started and got an assist for England U17, Michalski came off the bench for England U18 Duru started for USA U20 as they beat France U20 2-1 The Americans seem to like Duru

Barnes "had a set back in his injury rehab" Not sure if that is the same injury that he had last season, or a fresh one https://www.nwemail.co.uk/sport/24599580.barrow-afc-boss-hoping-avoid-walking-wounded/ -
I'd add James Edmondson and possibly Powell onto that list. Given that Michalski is in the U18s for England, you would also suspect him too, but I cannot say that he has looked like a stand out for me. Dunn and Leatherbarrow, (both first year scholars) also seem to be getting fast tracked into the U21s

I find it unlikely that Eustace will change a winning team and shape (fitness permitting), especially one which played as well as they did v Cardiff. Rightly or wrongly, Eustace seems to prefer to keep the 11 the same if they performed well, and makes reactive changes to the starting 11 based on defeats/bad performances, rather than making "proactive" changes in advance. Beck pulled out of the Wales squad with injury, so I cant see him in the first 11 in a weeks time (he may return on the bench if fit enough) and Pickering had a decent game v Cardiff. More importantly, Pickering being in the team allowed Rovers to utilise the same team shape in possession that was successful in the early weeks of the season. Think you are correct that Weimann could not do the pressing role (maybe barring a 20 minute cameo) that Ohashi does.
