  1. And they likely have a plan which involves more than reducing costs & crossing their fingers in the hope that they manage to avoid relegation season upon season. It can be seen that they sold Cashin for £9M, and immediately invested £5M of that into permanent deals for a new striker & a new centre back, and another centre back on loan Can we even dream of our owners etc investing over 50% of player sales back into the squad?
  2. During the game on Sunday, the TV cameras panned towards Waggott more than once. I think it was Suhail was sat next to him the first time, but there was an empty seat next to Waggott from then on. He doesn't like the spotlight
  3. Papers a probably a thing of the past, you would likely be better served paying for an advert on YouTube targeted to those with an Indian IP address
  4. unless it was accompanied by the words "I" "wish" "was" "struck" & "by"?
  5. From memory (so I appreciate I may be wrong), most short term appointments that I recall tend happen with teams struggling to stay up, rather than a team on the edge of the play offs, I think a short term appointment who is going to continue along the same lines of what Rovers already do well (keep it tight, nick a goal) would be a sensible option
  6. Makes sense in a way Once people realise that those in charge don't give a monkeys, it becomes harder to drag yourself to see them every week. So many of those who pay attention lose interest and stop going, leaving smaller crowds made up of people who fall into one of 3 categories Addicts who cant give it up The willfully ignorant with their heads buried in the sand Casuals
  7. The rest of this season is an attractive job, if someone gets the team to the playoffs (let alone promotion) they would be hailed a hero, failure to reach the top 6 is easily pinned on the lack of investment compared to Boro, West Brom etc. The new guy cant lose either way Once the transfer window opens and the head coach/manager has to deal with the lies and/or incompetence of those in charge, the job becomes much less palatable
  8. Played for Birmingham in the previous round
  9. We can but hope, the other possibility is that they got lucky with the past 3 choices, Before that there was a carousel of clowns and chancers
  10. If Rovers were ambitious & sensible at this point (and also assuming Eustace does leave). It would make sense to offer a 6 month contract with a large promotion bonus to the likes of Dyche, Cooper, Allardyce or Warnock (man managers with a history of promotion out of this division based on the current strengths of the team.... being solid and hard to beat rather than free scoring) The most stupid thing they could do is offer the job to Russell Martin, Rooney, Gerrard etc, which is what I expect to happen based on who we have in charge
  11. Its broken, cant give marks for 3 or 4 players
  12. IF Venkys/Waggott/Pasha/etc were to make assurance to Eustaces, they would at least be forced into sorting out contracts for Travis, Tronstad, Brittain etc, and presumably also Eustace, which would likely have certain release clauses in place for if/when promises about finances are broken All of which would not need to wait until summer But the likelihood is that they will just accept the compensation and let him leave
  13. confirmed that Derby have approached Rovers by Sky Sports News just now
  14. Apparently he didn't play well vs Stockport last Sunday before being subbed off after an hour. But even if that is the case, unless he is ill/carrying an injury, it would seem harsh to drop him, considering he had scored and played well in the 2 games before that. He was subbed off at half time in the previous game vs Exeter (after a first half performance that included a goal and an assist) so maybe he is carrying something? That being said, I couldn't fault any of the Orient players performances yesterday,
  15. Would iPlayer work? either with or without a VPN? https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0027znp If so then its free
  16. Not sure he will do that in a hurry
  17. RE the bold bit I am sure he would have left even if he didn't already have a job lined up, but he had already been approached by Sweden. He was technically "out of work" for a couple of weeks
  18. U18s hammered Newcastle 5-1 (who included Finneran in their starting lineup) at their place U21s lost 3-1 at home to Man City
  19. Starts this weekend for Garrett - lost 2-0 - watched a stream of this one, Garrett was playing a box to box role on the left of a midfield 3 in a 5-3-2, he was booked for a late & wild tackle, also come close from a free kick from the edge of the box. Withdrawn after an hour with the score at 1-0. Tranmere had the best of the first half, but Salford kicked on after half time. Garrett made some nice touches and runs, but did not really influence what was for the hour I watched, a poor quality game. Tranmere conceded the 2nd as I was writing this, straight after he was subbed off. Tranmere forum members all have in the starting 11 for their next game too Batty - drew 0-0 O'Riordan - lost 3-0 Olson - won 3-1 Eastham - lost 2-0 Honor - won 2-0 Saadi - drew 0-0 On the bench Markanday - lost 2-1 Wood - won 4-1 - came on for the last 20 mins with the score at 3-0 Not involved in matchday squad Duru - won 3-0 - injured according to Barrow forum, went off injured last week vs Newport Goddard - drew 0-0 - presumably still injured Bell - lost 3-1 Mafoumbi - won 3-1 - I do wonder if this is a trial dressed up as a loan, with an eye towards offloading him in the summer No game this weekend Vale - next game is 15th Feb
  20. Would imagine so, judging by the team they put out against Derby, Orient seem to be going with their first choice team in the cup (Markanday signed for them the week after that game so wasn't involved then, but isn't cup tied)
  21. Barring (an incredibly unlikely) promotion to the Prem, I think you are right
  22. If this is anywhere near accurate, Derby fans will be terrified
  23. Fleck Had a fit and was taken to hospital after being named on the bench last night
