Markanday and Batty both start, Fleck also on the bench for Chesterfield Both games are on Sky +, kick offs at 12:30 Edit, Half time, Accrington 2-0 up, and Markanday has put Chesterfield 1-0 up -

Leonard starts for U21s. Based on that lineup, assuming Tyjon playing as a 10 (not for the first time this season) behind Leonard, which makes me wonder if this is just a case of fitting players into an 11, or if this is where they (at least initially) see Tyjon as breaking into the first team? He seems to have very good movement, and playing off a 9 would be less physically demanding on a younger player

Turning Japanese I think we're turning Japanese Because of Yuki -
U18s at home to Derby at 12:30 today U21s away to Villa at 12:00 noon. According to the pre match preview, Isaac Whitehall is injured again. Not seen this mentioned previously, but a quick search shows he was withdrawn early in consecutive games vs Man Utd & Colchester and then didn't feature v Lyon

John Eustace - our head coach

ok 🙂 The "much more than just being the coach" comment in your previous post seemed to imply that you thought he was going above and beyond his job description -

That is literally the job of a head coach -
Sounds like a half arsed version of VAR

I was discussing the choice of playing Beck and Brittain at full back against the Dingles. -

We have also seen that whilst Yuki can last a full 90, Gueye seems to run out of steam after 45-60 mins Gueye may improve his stamina as the season progresses, but for as long as that is the situation, it then becomes a case of does Eustace want to start or finish the game with Gueye on the pitch. A question which may have a different answer depending upon the opposition we are facing. Personally feel that the longer the season progresses, the less chance we have of seeing Ohashi and Gueye in the same starting lineup as going forwards, Cantwell will likely be the 10 behind one of Gueye or Ohashi -

They have been on the pitch at the same time in the Stockport cup game and also against Oxford. Yet to see them start together though, and more often than not, one has replaced the other as sub, so unsure if it would be seen by Eustace as an option to have them both in the same starting line up -

Could possibly see Gueye start as the 9, Ohashi move back to 10, and Dolan slide across to replace Bakers role, which would still allow Dolan to be the second number 10 when Rovers have the ball Pears Carter Batth Hyam Beck Travis Tronstad Hedges Ohashi Dolan Gueye But I feel Eustace will go with the same team as Bristol, Baker was the right footed set piece option (in my opinion he didn't really put in decent set piece deliveries, but Eustace seems to like to have a left footed and right footed option on the pitch) in a team that won 3-0, so that may be enough to keep him in the 11. -

I think that was through necessity rather than choice. Pickering's injury meant Beck had to play, and Batths injury meant that he couldn't slot into centre back (*) with Carter moving along to right back. I get the feeling that when there is a choice to be made it will more often than not be a full back pairing of either Pickering & Britain, or Beck & Carter * Pretty sure that (barring a huge injury crisis) this season, McFadzean will only be used from the bench in backs to the wall situations when holding onto a lead/draw rather than from the start -

Given the part of your post that I highlighted in bold, Weimann is unlikely to play ahead of Carter. Maybe Hedges on the right (as he was on Saturday) and Weimann left (where Baker played) with that defence though? I do agree that Cantwell and Dolan are likely to be the "two 10s" once everyone is fit and firing -

Premier League Cup away v Man City this afternoon. It is looking like Man City's socials might be better than our own to follow this

Wasn't that because for most of their tenure, Pullis and Hughes were doing well? Both had Stoke flying high in the Premier League for most of their time in charge. Pullis had them punching above their weight for years, and Hughes finished in the top half of the Prem in each of his first 3 years, 13th in his 4th, and was sacked in his 5th. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/stoke-city/platzierungen/verein/512 It was only Michael O'Neil who lasted more than a year of not doing great
