  1. Probably he gets a financial payout from the club and/or he will have a low release clause become active
  2. Personally think £25M is very high for Whittaker, can see it being more like £10M. But I do also think that Rovers sold Wharton on the cheap, and had we waited until the summer to make a sale then 1 - Rovers would not be in the position they are in 2 - Rovers would have got at least as much as Bristol City got from Bournemouth for Scott (£25M+)
  3. Lazio had a bid for him turned down of over £7M in January. In no way are Rovers fishing in that pond Edit - https://trigger-the-press.com/morgan-whittaker-leicester-palace-sporting/ apparently looking for £25M with Premier League teams and Sporting Lisbon now interested
  4. If you mean why is it a 12:30 kick off, it is so that sky can put on numerous final day games on live tv without worrying about the 3pm tv blackout https://www.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky/competitions/championship
  5. No Tyjon or Finneran, so they may be with the first team tomorrow (although the U18s are also playing tomorrow afternoon)
  6. Gilsenan is injured, has been for the past couple of weeks
  7. Just turned 18 today and made mainly sub appearances for his club in Ireland, looks like a signing for the U21s https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aodhan-doherty/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/1077242/plus/0?saison=2023&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=
  8. Well, in fairness to yourself, he hasn't played a single minute in the Championship, so nobody can say you were definitely wrong 😉
  9. Nathan Dlamini, winger, and fairly regular for U18s this season, was brought in from Villa last season Edit - Just seen I was beaten to it
  10. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/aug/10/bournemouth-alex-scott-bristol-city-sign-25m
  11. Would imagine it will be close to double that
  12. He has only featured for Oldham 3 times since signing, and not at all for the past month. Don't know if its fitness/injury related or that his loan has not worked out https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ethan-walker/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/640893/plus/0?saison=2023&verein=1078&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= Bloxham's loan at Harrogate hasn't gone much better https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tom-bloxham/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/907216/wettbewerb/GB4/saison/2023
  13. Both Wharton's were part of the academy well before Mowbray became manager in 2017 https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/club/everything-you-need-to-know-about-adam-wharton-crystal-palace-player/ Methinks the Guardian has got Scott mixed up with Adam as Mowbray had much more to do with bringing Scott through to the first team (and sending him out on several loans)
  14. Fair comment, I have edited my original post
  15. Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere Danny Murphy: Former Liverpool and England midfielder became addicted to cocaine after retirement I do wonder if maybe his addiction started whilst he was still playing, given how bad he was when he was with Rovers
  16. Leeds have a very strong first 11 (probably the best starting 11 in the division if everyone is fit) and a few players beyond that, Southampton's squad is stronger (in my opinion) though. Will give you that Leicester's squad runs them close
  17. They do probably have the best squad in the division. Personally I think that if someone else had been their manager this season rather than Martin, they would be ahead of Leicester in top spot
  18. Frees and loans, but could probably get a very high sell on 😉 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/motherwell-fc/alletransfers/verein/987 They last paid a transfer fee in the 17/18 season according to this. $12K for a goalkeeper from Hartlepool If Vale has upped his work rate, and comments from Motherwell fans on their forum seem to indicate that he has, then he may be seen as a genuine (and cheap) back up for Gally
  19. Maybe it has, just reporting what Motherwell's fans think of him Vale Motherwell's man of the match vs Celtic - https://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/topic/18841-motm-celtic-25-feb-2024/#comment-638158 Some Vale related comments from their forum "Once again I thought Vale showed up very well. He puts in a ton of work and looks decent on the ball as well. He took hell of a beating today but apparently the ref thought it was ok. Bevis also had a good game so between them for me but I’ll go with the much maligned Bevis." "I thought Vale was our best player. Tidy feet, held it up well and is forming a very good understanding with Bair. Our chances of winning the game ended with his substitution." "No issues with Vale being substituted. The guy had put in a shift and, as you say, been targetted for some rough treatment. He had run his race by that time. Our issue is we have no one else who can do what he can do." As an aside, Motherwell had a 17 year old midfielder playing for them who looks to have a very high ceiling. Lennon Miller, apparently being looked at by Rangers and Celtic. Looked a genuine future Premier League player for me.
  20. If they want to keep 3 CBs, there is the possibility of moving Wharton central (If McFadzean doesn't play), Hyam right and Koumetio/Chrisene left (assuming Hedges is not fit and Pickering plays left back/wing back).
  21. Just to depress us all on a Monday morning. Danns was decent, but not at the level Rovers needed at the time, but he was good enough to be a regular for Palace for a few seasons a couple of years after he left us https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/neil-danns/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/4108/plus/0?saison=&verein=873&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id= How times have changed 😞
  22. Looks a better player than Chrisene (not that hard), so probably ok as a squad player next season
  23. Gent as in Gentleman is how I have heard it pronounced (just depends on if those people are right I suppose)
  24. According to BBC (who are quite often wrong about these things) Vale will be playing as one of twin number 10s, and Motherwell playing much the same formation that Rovers currently do. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/football/68361368 Motherwell fans do seem to like Vale (and Gent), they view Vale as a pacey and hard working forward who presses well. Will be interesting to see how they both get on against one of the 2 decent teams North of the border
