  1. The owners way of doing things and, based on some posters on here, some supporters' unrealistic expectations.
  2. Wouldn't disagree with any of that. Of course we can't be sure how things will work out unless he gets to play; he's marginal at the moment as to whether he's a plus or a minus for the first team .
  3. Yes, and results is why so many managers are careful, or reluctant, to bring young players in to the first team. If they don't, then of course they receive criticism for that as well. I'm not trying to wind anybody up - if you think those who have labelled Tony Mowbray a "coward" or "not a nice person" are not haters how would you describe them ?
  4. If Mowbray did that and results suffered as a result the haters would be out in force on here demanding he got the sack
  5. We are a bit like Manchester United in that we struggle to break down teams who are set up to defend. A disappointing result but at the half way stage of the season we are in the fight for the play offs and I think back in August pretty well all of us would have taken that.
  6. 12 days ago Wigan got a 1-1 draw against top of the table West Brom
  7. Top class player
  8. At the Xmas period every side is likely to be making some changes. With 5 wins and a draw from 6 games Mowbray does not have to "justify" anything - the standard of his decision making speaks for itself.
  9. Yes - I didn't comment on the team selection either. Whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, when you are playing again after 3 days it is always worth remembering that the manager and coaching staff will have information available to them regarding fitness and recovery characteristics for each player that we do not have and that will help to drive the selection.
  10. A great win that just underlines how good Tony Mowbray is - the team selection and substitutions were spot on again
  11. No idea but I do know that the two best managers in English football - Guardiola and Klopp - have had players sent off this season. Sendings off happen to everybody.
  12. You can't hold one sending off against a manager. If it was happening a lot then it would be reasonable to say that the manager needs to address it - but the occasional sending off is an occupational hazard
  13. Yes - against 10 men he is much the best bet to open up the opposition
  14. Swansea blow hot and cold but I would have thought that this was a reasonably good result - we are not going to win every game we play
  15. Sad news coming out that Jim Smith has passed away. A good manager and a good football man
  16. Glad to hear that like me you are really happy with the way things are going
  17. But if we lost 4 games in a row - imagine what people would be saying then.
  18. I think the "holier than thou" people took exception to some of the unpleasantness that was directed at the manager and are justifiably taking pleasure in seeing him doing well. At least one poster described Mowbray as "corrupt" - a disgraceful remark - and others claimed he was not a nice person.
  19. Rooney will clearly be the manager at some stage in the next 6 months
  20. Yes - and he kept faith with the likes of Evans and Armstrong because he is his own man.
  21. Do you seriously think that Mowbray - or any other manager - pays any attention to what know - nowts on a messageboard are saying ?
  22. 5 wins from 6 now - and every reason to think this can continue. Credit to Tony Mowbray for sticking to his guns.
  23. The club had the good sense to stick with the manager
  24. Another great win. 4 from 5 now as Tony Mowbray continues to work his magic
  25. Good win for the Bills at Dallas. On another note I can't remember ever watching as entertaining a player as Lamar Jackson who is redefining the role of quarterback. MVP. MVP . MVP
