  1. Don't understand this dislike of Liverpool or Scoucers in general. Proper city, proper club, proper people. A million times more bearable than Mancunians and their two mobs.
  2. Harder than Buckley anyway, he couldn't beat fucking eggs.
  3. Wasn't it Neil Young who played his new album in full for one half of his show - to a tepid reception - then came out for the second half promising to 'play them all stuff they knew', then proceeded to do the same songs again?
  4. Andy Todd was full blown nuts. I absolutely adored him at Rovers. I think the difference for me perhaps is that the likes of Todd and Savage were hard lads who had the bite to go with the bark. Buckley doesn't - he appears a quiet, polite chap by and large, which makes his actions on Thursday all the more baffling. I was pissed off with him - I still am a bit - but hopefully he either matures out of such pettiness or gets the persona to go with it. I'd say the only player we've had of late like Todd, Savage, Neill and whoever else you want to throw in was Bradley Johnson.
  5. I remember commenting at the times it vanished I wasn't surprised. With Rovers' level of fucks given, it was never to last more than the minimum it could justify. I bought the first one. They managed as much content in a glossy A4 ~64pager as you'd expect a National League side to get through in ten days of their programme output.
  6. They truly would. This level of stagnation and indifference would cost you your post within weeks in other industries. With Rovers it appears to be a badge of honour.
  7. Even in a 12,000 crowd you'd easily flog the best part of 500 given the number of hardcore faithfuls, especially in the away end (I still proactively seek programmes on away days where I know the exist!). The last away day I did was Cardiff in early October, and two things struck me about the experience - firstly, putting your back into a programme makes for an excellent read and gives a strong impression of giving a fuck; and secondly, having your own beer on the concourse demonstrates some level of innovation and subsequently got them several more ยฃ in the coffers from me. Compare and contrast to Ewood where we had a monthly magazine that cost about 20p a word and tepid, unimaginative shite on tap that we can't even serve at a reasonable pace (apparently!).
  8. My primary problem with the redevelopment of Blackburn, and this was exacerbated by the 2000s modifications that got rid of the old market and Lord Square, is that stuffing literally 90% of your town centre in a massive box that closes every night at 6pm leaves the rest of it on its arse a bit afterwards. Unless there's something on at KGH, the only place ls with an ounce of life in it after the working day is Maccies and the Postal Order Spoons. It just makes the whole place feel 'shut'. Thank God for the Rock Box and Drummers Arms I suppose!
  9. Not sure a Rangers fan can laugh at anyone self destructing given their past 12 years or so
  10. Hardly the most obnoxious thing anyone's ever done is it really though? See the ball go into the crowd every week in leagues the world over after the final whistle...
  11. Indeed, I can remember being in there when Appleton (I think it was) was just announced as gone. I appreciate the need for one in town isn't there in the long run, but for a couple of weeks in a prime spot in town in the run up to Christmas? Surely we could justify it with a bit of impetus.
  12. Anyway, inspired by another team I keep an eye on, do you think Rovers will let out a small unit in the Mall in order to hoover up passing trade in the run up to Christmas? I know Rovers fanbase is much more of spread out than a traditonal town team but Blackburn town centre is the retail heart of this corner of the world, and Ewood is hardly convenient for those nipping into town or one of the retail parks; plus not everyone enjoys online, certainly for clothes and what have you. Interest in the club is at the highest in a good while and I can't help but feel a couple of weekends flogging merch any which way we could would not only boost the bank balance but also act as a fairly effective advertising campaign...
  13. Still ยฃ50 per shirt is it? Hell of a lot of money to let walk away once you think about how often that will happen over Christmas. Flogging all your stock is indeed impressive. Failing to replenish in order to take advantage of that demand is anything but.
  14. I'm genuinely curious as to why it being called soccer bothers people? A term invented in Britain and primarily only used by those from country whose leading form of football isn't Association Rules...
  15. Still holds the record for most consecutive PL games I believe: his final few seasons here, three seasons at Villa where he never missed a league game (!), then a short while at Spurs before Lloris came along. 300 and something all in? Interesting question in all that: how many other players have played every league match possible during their tenure at a club?! Growing up in the early 00s, he and Tugay were my heroes. I didn't care about Cech, Lehmann, Dudek and whoever; we had the American Yashin.
  16. Just no add - no photos sadly - the world's in a bad enough state without people having to look at me modelling!
  17. Mine has landed today. I love it - perfect especially now that the temperatures are dropping. Can't wait to see what's lined up next!
  18. Never been to Carrow Road but Norwich itself is a brilliant city in a lovely part of the world (even if it is a pain to get to!). Sadly, I can't get to either of the two fixtures we have there this season!
  19. Scottish football is half decent if you take it for what it is. Of course it's nothing like English football, but I fail to see how one of two teams being in line to win anything is very different at all to Man City/Chelsea/Liverpool being odds on to do a clean sweep of the three trophies down here.
  20. 7pm tonight on BBC Two for the Third Round draw, we're ball number 5. Nationwide railway strikes are planned for that Fri/Sat so watch us get a brilliant away day now...!
  21. League One and everyone below are carrying on as per usual.
  22. Off-topic but part of the draw nonetheless, it pissed me off when the lass presenting said 'Southampton, or should I say Nathan Jones' Southampton...' No you shouldn't. So disrespectful of the club, their fans and heritage and whatever else to essentially tag it on like someone's just waltzed in and saved their life. Same with Lampard's Everton, Gerrard's Villa, Kompany's Burnley... Fuck off.
  23. I can remember us getting done 6-4 at Villa Park in the second leg of a League Cup Semi when the BBC had broadcasting rights, I seem to recall the weather was dismal up here at the time. Manchester Derby was the 'half' of that draw I think. January 2010 or 2011?
  24. Sky now streaming on Youtube. Encouragingly it's counting down to half 10... They could have had it done by now ๐Ÿ˜‘ Carabao Cup Fourth Round Draw! ๐Ÿ† - YouTube
  25. Is it (legally) being streamed online anywhere? Edit - or radio? Don't have Sky Sports!
