  1. It will pass then something else will happen, there will be outrage, it will pass and repeat until the end of all eternity. Genuinely amuses me that people complain that it has lost its working class roots and events x, y and z are the straw to break the camel's back. 'Elite' level football lost any premise of being for the working classes decades ago. Stop funding it or suck it up.
  2. Listening to some of the shouts at matches at all levels amuses me. Always wonder what they expect their teammates to do instead! 'SECONDS', 'Cheers mate, I was going to let him just take that half-volley'
  3. Maybe 2003 or so, didn't EH Diouf (for Bolton) dive to win a late penalty in front of the Darwen End, which they converted? Not that it made a difference in the grand scheme of things, but it annoyed me. Seem to remember that fixture went through a spell of the hosts never winning too? And my memory may really be playing tricks here, but for one we got away with, Sir Big Brad vs. Les Ferdinand down in Cardiff? If that wasn't a penalty it was very close!
  4. If you'd have told a younger me, amidst runs to FA Cup semi finals, League Cup champions, European runs and Premier League top 10 finishes; that one day my support would manifest in the form of sitting awaiting judges in a far off land wading through the murkiest depths of human deprivation to deliver an edict on us, I don't think I would have believed you...
  5. Leave the poor things alone, they've just spent nine months being worked to death and have then had to go and do the same in America/Asia, though with less complaints it seems. (Heaven forbid they have to field their Championship-grade second eleven at a Cup replay at Peterborough mind!)
  6. Though perhaps not particularly enjoyable for Sunderland fans heading for Cardiff, Pompey fans to Leeds and Swansea fans to Boro with 5am alarms; nor Donkey Lashers getting home from Crawley, Rotherham fans from Exeter and Cambridge United fans from Stockport in the small hours of Sunday.
  7. Crikey, Norfolk has shifted a bit from when I last went.
  8. Looking at Wigan's bench, I genuinely had no idea Andy Lonergan was still going. Proper blast from the last that was.
  9. I didn't do the survey but presuming it was free text answers I love how someone felt the need to be absolutely clear that they lived near Knutsford and also in Cheshire. Surprised they want to be associated with such uncouth hobbies. Turns out there is another Rovers fan living in my neck of the woods too. I think the most unexpected fan I have ever seen down here was an old boy in a park in town in an Elgin City hat!
  10. I mean at least it sorts the content storyline for the next series they do on ITVbe... the struggles as they search the home counties high and low for a seven bedroomed detached house with space for a driving range...
  11. Way this club is going we'd sign Tim Henman instead
  12. And there was me thinking you couldn't post pornography on here.
  13. Devon, presumably.
  14. Seeing that Barrow AFC have landed a sponsorship with Newfoundland & Labrador, why don't we try our hand in that department? Knowing us mind we'd likely end up with Visit Helmshore.
  15. Wouldn't mind a trip up to Parkhead in the same manner we did Ibrox five (six?) years ago. Proper long weekend material. Suppose a day out in Nantwich will have to suffice in lieu...
  16. I still remember watching his equaliser at the new Brentford ground, back during the early days of the post-Covid return. Thought it may have been the spark he needed but it just never seemed to be for him. Best of luck to him over in the Maiden City. Perhaps not the career he imagined himself having but it's a fine time to get onboard at Derry City, a team that's certainly looking forwards and upwards after a strong few years (one can only imagine how that feels!).
  17. Thought if we were genuinely concerned with going green we'd have moved on from issuing a new suite of shirts every season?
  18. This, presumably? https://www.theguardian.com/football/article/2024/jun/05/manchester-citys-trumpian-tactics-spotlight-autocratic-creep-in-football
  19. Turnstile? Plenty of them embossed Irlam the country over I think?
  20. No finer way to be.
  21. One of those threads that makes you take stock for a moment and think of what you have. @sympatheticclaret I am so sorry for your loss. I am fortunate enough never to have experienced dementia in a family member but have seen them lost to hideous, debilitating diseases otherwise. You gave such a wonderful account of your father mind and it was genuinely beautiful to read. @Tyrone Shoelaces I am sorry to read of your loss also. It sounds like she was a good age and had a wonderful life right until the end. My thoughts are with the both of you.
  22. Indeed. Been a good while since the other one was relevant mind 😁
  23. This three times in row shite ain't for everyone. Fuck Manchester. Fuck United. Fuck City. For all its faults there's only one Blackburn and there's only one Rovers.
  24. Champions four years in a row? Farmers league territory. Even Germany have had the decency to get new winners this year.
  25. Caught sight of big man Craig Short as part of Oxford's backroom staff there. What a bloke. Delighted for him.
