  1. A centre back with pace and power is still needed. Fairly certain Ismael will want that but it will cost you more than £500k.
  2. We will need to replace Brittain's crossing ability, so whoever comes in needs to either be very good technically or extremely quick instead. Nyambe is neither, and is a downgrade.
  3. Salford City and Marine FC have also signed 3 guys, so that isn't really the point. If that's enough to keep you happy given the bigger picture then it does seem fairly shortsighted. I'm not saying this is you but the happy-clapping through leadership negligence, watching former players, current players, former managers, longstanding staff members, facilities and an entire women's team suffer at the hands of terrible ownership and a disingenuous board and accepting that is also very, very boring and wrong. There are some major problems at the club currently, one is no CEO and another is no one you would trust to identify and appoint a competent one. It currently isn't sustainable, there is an ownership issue, there is a board issue, major mistakes are being made... and it can't be ignored by everyone.
  4. It's the perfect player for Blackburn Rovers to unsuccessfully bid on then isn't it.
  5. Carter might not be present and Batth gone, yet they aren't submitting good enough offers on centre backs. Messing around for months. We need two. The player catch up and need to spend more is our own making due to total negligence. Sort it out and get fit players with good pedigree into training now!! Offer acceptable contracts and rebuild some spirit with long term objectives/ incentives and start acting like a serious football club..... or sell up and give it to someone who will.
  6. Rovers seem experts in having offers rejected. Transfers and first team contracts.
  7. We're actually in big trouble here with the limited fees spent and squad unrest on the contract front.
  8. Happy to be back on the pitch, and to do what i love te most, after 7.5 months of injury!⚽️🙌 #comeback Fits the profile.
  9. We're tyre kicking... total time wasters... and most links to more established players with values in the £2m+ region won't materialise until we have a new board and owners.
  10. What on earth is going on at the club. Where is the rebuild??? The season starts in just over 20 days.
  11. Brittain is probably the only player we have that might not have looked out of place technically in the prem, great touch and delivery. It's a disgrace he wasn't offered a contract earlier. Difficult to comprehend the level of incompetence at board and ops level at Rovers given the size of the club and money involved.
  12. For what it's worth I don't think he's worth that but what I do think is we should have renewed his contract 2 years ago and sold him for £2m if possible. We are an inexcusably bad business model and in normal circumstances anyone behind these failures would be fired. It's laughable.
  13. I bet he doesn't transfer once in his career for anything over £3m. Hard-worker, poor technique, weak finisher, not that quick but is over inflated because he's young, English and has played way too many games at an underinvested club. We've made him appear better than he is. I'm absolutely certain he wouldn't have got the number of appearances he did with us at any other top 8 Championship club... and he's cashing in on it. He's low risk now but I'm not sure anyone decent ever would have taken the risk on him.
  14. Tronstad is a better player than Travis in my opinion. Decent with both feet, blocks or intercepts almost everything at times and retains the ball better. I'm sure plenty disagree but I was shocked at how good he was in some games last year. Travis is more legs, in your face, passion, less technique... but I'd rather they were both out there. You need to retain those qualities and that kind of depth if you want to do anything serious in this league.
  15. That's called a severely underfunded rebuild. How lucky we are!
  16. Madness. What kind of message does this send to any high performing player at Rovers. You might still never hear from us with a new contract no matter how well you do...... pathetic leadership and convoluted ownership, unable to get any results. This isn't how football clubs are ran!!!! #Venky's Out!
  17. Ah I see the imaginary war chest has been unlocked again. Unbelievable.
  18. Our offers aren't serious for any of the more ambitious targets so they are right to play him until Oxford come in.
  19. Get out and take the players to a club with better ownership. Simple and an attractive sell. Rovers will always be at a disadvantage while owned by Venky's. Better, more fan engaged days will be ahead of us if we can somehow change ownership, regardless of the division we end up playing in. Our owners are not interested in doing whatever it takes for Blackburn Rovers to win trophies, avoid relegations and earn promotions. What more does a fan need than that to want new owners.
  20. It appears as though Danny Batth could have been tied down to a new 1 year deal in January by a well organised football club, with proper, interested executives supported by a good owners. That's the only catch... A Blackburn Rovers of a different era.
  21. Personally think Rovers did well to get 90% of the business done before pre-season with 90% of the budget spent. Good luck Val....... you'll need it!
  22. Batth and Hyam had a great partnership... I saw them work well together aerially on nearly every long ball and Hyam looked improved, it disappeared when Carter came in. A new CB is needed, a new striker is needed and a new winger is needed. All should cost decent money and make the first 11. Arguably need a better keeper too and right back cover. Get moving... !
  23. I think the key to any successful sports team is having a setup that managers aren't desperate to walk away from...... Yet unfathomably inside the ground on a match day, some morons look confused by a Venky's out chant.
  24. We are experts in making offers that are definitely not enough. We are so shoe-strung we spend that long messing about on fees that we always miss out on the better "targets" that come with competition, even when they're heavily discounted. De Lange last summer being the prime example of this. Val wanted 90% of his business done before pre-season. Which contradicts what some fans say on here about patience - that hasn't got us anywhere. It's about getting the targets in as quickly as possible so that they can bed in and increase your chances of a successful campaign. We have billionaire owners but are constantly scraping the barrel and missing out. As it stands today we have 1 new signing training with the first team, no one has heard of him and are short on the following players from last year: Dolan Weimann Batth Woodrow Dennis Cozier-Dubbery Beck Sanderson That's a lot of minutes missing.... from a team that wasn't good enough to get the playoffs. We haven't picked up any astute free transfers, some of these have resale value which would have been key to our model if not spending, in the mould of Viktor Johansson from last year; these are the fine lines that means we haven't and never will make the playoffs under Venky's due to a non-competitive approach in the market: As it stands this isn't a rebuild, it's simply a lot of time wasting and a seemingly major inability to tie down any valuable senior players to attractive long term contracts. There's not a chance we paid millions for Taveres. Career wise he isn't even a player that would be worth £2m, it's nonsense... but they will advertise it during the next crisis video. We have all of the signs of a team operating without any influential senior executives... and still, distant owners. As a result current players are holding off from committing, or know they can get a better offer elsewhere.
