True and absolutely embarrassing. Sometimes you're better to have decent wages available... vs bargain basement fees for relegated talent in poor European leagues... paying peanuts. That's not a strategy aimed for success, nor was it Brentford's model. Alfie Devine has already bagged for Preston on loan. McBurnie hitting the ground running....... Meanwhile I'm still waiting to see if Henriksson and De Neve can control a football. We scraped the barrel last summer for Ohashi and Gueye and they just don't quite look good enough if we're being honest.... do they? The result of this sign as cheap as possible exercise will be a full team that's simply not up to it all over. I think Gestede is about to complete that puzzle.

On the goals today, Miller hadn't challenged yet and it looked to me to be Tavares who gave the penalty away with a flailing leg, his trip/ minimal contact sent the Brum player and then Miller tumbling. Miller certainly seemed to be asking Tavares why in the immediate aftermath. The corner, a clear Tavares error, Ismael and Whitehead both yelled furiously at him to take it.... I presume with the idea of leaving Ribiero back instead.... the cross was a disaster. He sprinted back well but still didn't do enough.... either way a poor corner shouldn't mean goal. It was reckless from VI to have the entire team so far up. 5 defenders were on the pitch, we shouldn't have been caught out like that. Special mention to De Neve who allowed the Birmingham player to breeze past him on the penalty too, something Alebiosu had fought all game to stop. Really disappointing! We have a major quality issue up top and it won't be solved by 1 incoming, or going all out attack in games..... with these players. We had it last season, we knew what was needed with Hedges not performing and Dolan leaving.... and the reality is a well organised club would have have at least two new wingers bedded in right now. How glaringly obvious does it need to be! As a minimum the focus should have been on a good RW and LW or a goalscorer but the issue is those positions cost REAL money. We need to bring in quality difference makers in attack and quickly..... but there's no way Suhail and Venky's will allow it...... even if they do they'll need time to get to know each other, while the first fixtures run away from us. The squad planning and financial backing has been a disaster during a summer that was supposed to be an "exciting rebuild". It's been underwhelming and underfunded. Regardless I arrive back at the same conclusion....... Sell the club!

Never felt such animosity towards the board and the owners before the first home game of a new season. It used to always be an exciting day but due to their continuous negligence the squad is all over the place. Gestede out Pasha out Venky's out!

The problem is, again, they aren't willing to pay the fees required for players that are an improvement.

Another thing to look at are the wages other teams are offering for players that aren't "difference makers", when you do you realise how far Rovers are sinking. It's now become very clear that Rovers are completely incapable of renewing current first team players contracts. This is the future under the direction of Suhail Pasha and Venky's and it isn't a sustainable one in the Championship. Any decent owner would sack all involved in the laughable number of players down to 1 year left on their deal. Total incompetence. List the club for sale!! It's time to go. Venky's and Pasha OUT!

Agree with many of the player reviews but it's worrying for the new boys, Henriksson in particular isn't looking great... Some really poor first touches considering he should be match sharp. I didn't get the hype from the highlights reels either before signing him. Hopefully our scouting team are confident........... first impressions... Not sure why he's been prioritised as a signing ahead of a right winger or a decent striker.

We’re in big big trouble now attack wise. Our star striker (Yuki) was purchased for virtually nothing, as were nearly all the players around him. There’s clearly a flat out refusal to pay decent fees for players and you can’t afford that in attack anymore in the Championship. Gaslit by Gestede. Championship players cost millions!

Not looking forward to our opening home fixture. Thanks Venky's, Rudy and Suhail. Congrats on your horrible season ticket sales too, in terms of new bums on seats. Well deserved. I'd suggest new professions for the lot of you.

Our squad needed adding to last season. What position have we actually added to in this squad and not simply replaced outgoing players? It's another pathetic, underfunded transfer window from whoever's in charge. How is there only talk of needing one more incoming. It's terrifying stuff and shows a lack of ambition around the place. Is there a domestic player Rovers are willing to pay a reasonable fee for? In the mould of Brittain to Boro or Travis to Derby? What the hell is happening to the club. Suhail Pasha and Venky's have got to go!

On Buckley, no one will take him.... and we see time and time again why. Can't give him away.

Heard after the game Sreenivasa Rao personally offered Travis 1 million rupees to stay tonight. Venky's don't think this one is over and are prepared to double it.

What dysfunctional group of players we've put together on a Poundland budget. Shambles.

Never particularly been a fan of Travis on the ball. He's very limited in terms of ability but this is now far too much disruption and instability amongst the squad for me. We're losing some key characters. Travis is a massive part of this team and I think we're running out of personalities in there. When this happens it typically doesn't end well. I'm not sure the cheap unknown signings Gestede and Venky's are gunning for are going to inspire others? The biggest problem seems to be how we're replacing them. Personally I'd rather have added Forshaw's wage to Travis or Brittain's contract. Bizarre signing. Buckley, Pears, JRC, Dolan, Batth, Weimann, Travis, Cantwell, Brittain all potential outgoings this summer. To be replaced largely by players with 0 championship minutes and extremely low wages. Worrying times indeed.

It's hardly ever played in to his head in fairness. We have terrible wingers delivery wise on both sides. I'd hate to be a tall striker at Rovers. It looks like we've also downgraded the crossing delivery from fullbacks on the right significantly too. We need to spend good money on a right winger ASAP! Far too much messing about on these positions in terms of allocating cash, or lack of. Striker, Winger and an athletic Centre back still needed. They need to write some proper fees.

This is what happens when you don't pay good money for strikers or attacking players. A major lack of goals due to a lack of serious spending will cost us big time.

These things need airing through a more credible public source. Ideally national press if the locals won't publish. It always comes out as hearsay via the forum or Twitter and half the fans who attend don't realise what is really going on. All it does is cause divide... and surprise when one fan wants a board member gone and the other has no idea why.

When was the last time a club got promoted by only signing cheap players? Genuine question.
