  1. It's wild that people still think if we were to cash in on a player we'd make a promotion push. It's like our fans are a bunch of goldfish. Getting pretty annoying actually. How many decades more of this ownership do you need to realise they'll NEVER execute your ambition as a fan?
  2. I think we as fans have shown Venky's it's fine to turn the tap off and starve a good manager of reasonable resource. The message is if you do the bare minimum we are happy, happy and grateful to still be able to watch Rovers. The reality is a good manager won't be. I know how this ends and hopefully the rest of the fanbase does too... underachievement, wasted academy products and the manager moving on. All we are left with is a CEO who's happy to cover it up, mid-table mediocrity, the occasional relegation and a new bus. Without a real explanation from India through the club that they own, I think I'm done for a while.
  3. How do Venky's keep getting away with it... do we have the kindest fans in football?
  4. Got to agree and you have to start asking when are we going to try and achieve something again as a football club...? Right now with the interest the owners are showing, or lack of, there is a real feeling of what's the point!
  5. Usual story, the whole team is doing fine against a good side but is lacking that cutting edge from a number of forward positions... VENKY'S ... BACK BROUGHTON AND THE MANAGER! A couple of injuries to that defence too and we're done.
  6. In Ennis's defence, he took a bit of a clattering whilst trying to turn in a rebound vs Hull. Doesn't surprise me it caused a bit of damage to his knee.
  7. Before over analysing the tactics I would take a look at the player resources being made available to our manager... or lack of. It's appalling and he's working miracles with some poor players that are still having to start. We very nearly beat a team with 1 extra player 3-1 on a transfer budget of pretty much £0. We only paid a fee for 5 of our starting XI today... and not one loan player in the squad. Hull were able to cycle through Estupinan, Delap and Connolly up front today + Twine. They won because their £1.3m spent on a striker made the difference... sometimes that's all it takes. If you gave Tomasson that amount in 4 positions I think we'd go up. ST, LB, CB, RW. Waggott and Venky's out!!
  8. That second goal is horrific from Carter, so slow, and a bizarre bit of goalkeeping. The Pickering mess looks as bad on a replay as it did in person, amateur stuff. What an idiot. Signings are needed!!!
  9. He probably didn't expect our defence to start acting like opposition forwards aren't allowed to run after footballs.
  10. It’s not difficult is it, we all saw last year what was needed. A better left back was up there… and here we are still. Not the first time a simple ball in the air has confused Pickering and caused a calamity, and it won’t be the last! The manager isn’t being backed at all.
  11. Thought it was a superb finish from Hirst.
  12. The frustration is coming from the multiple step overs and twirls without ever really getting anywhere. It looks a complete waste of energy and stood out on the day as a total contrast to Girona's wingers who were so simply effective with their directness and pace. He also uses his teammates runs as a decoy too often without gaining much ground himself... leaving them equally frustrated. Overall he's a frustrating watch and I'd imagine at times frustrating to play with. I think you can guess the word I'd use to best describe Dolan... Sh*t
  13. I enjoyed it, he moved the ball quickly, neat and tidy passing forward and likes to win it back. Better on the ball than Travis. I could see him and Travis sitting deeper in behind Wharton being a useful trio but possibly not what we have in mind...

  15. For me it's... Thin Lizzy - The Boys Are Back In Town and Tina Turner - The Best
  16. Really glad we don't have to watch players like this anymore... and it all comes down to who's in charge. A decent manager would have recognised Duffy shouldn't have been anywhere near the team that day.
  17. It's an unusual choice of sponsor for any sports team and I thought it would be temporary. The CEO doesn't come out of this well once again, since it completely exposes the no betting and no gambling moral high ground as purely a commercial move likely aimed at the muslim community. The impression I get about Waggott is... predictable twirp with little footballing morals.
  18. Still "Totally Wicked" on the front of shirts
  19. Hope that's true! Wanted a black away kit for years.
  20. The issue is contribution vs salary, Dack and Ayala don't justify it and you can probably add Gallagher to that group too, he was likely brought in as a high earner on the basis of scoring 10 or 15 goals a season but his main use is running and defending corners. You don't pay 15k a week for that from a centre forward. It would be sensible to try and move him on... but difficult to do so.
  21. Stupid of Dolan to not go down, he could have easily had Cork sent off and it would have been the correct decision but the ref should have had the balls to dismiss him regardless, likewise the linesman has to see the handball. There is a real issue at this level and as someone posted above it hasn't evened itself out, officials have cost us some huge points recently regardless of player performance, team selection etc. Rovers did well last night but we've too many average players Dolan, Gallagher, Travis and Pickering to name a few. For example Travis, Morton and Pickering start almost every game and simply aren't good enough if you're looking to go up. JDT has done well with what he has and there are a good few players I'd be trying to get rid of but we are relying too much on the officials because of our inability to put the ball in the net. Whoever's offered Brereton a contract should cancel it, he looks lost at Championship level at the minute, I don't think you ever could have said that about Benrahma, Bowen or Watkins at 24. He's a lucky boy to be getting a big money move and certainly hasn't earned it with us this season. I'm looking forward to a clear out of players in the summer and to see who we sign. One thing Burnley do not have, amid their mass of big money Championship players, loans and questionable work permits is a player like Adam Wharton. He's going to be a joy to watch. I thought Burnley's performance was pretty bad last night considering the money they've spent. We looked classier on the ball and are 8th. Next season's PL should be fun viewing!
  22. I mean it's clearly a huge mistake, play that ball in 10 times over and he isn't doing it again. An easy cross to turn behind for a corner or straight out for a throw. He had a great game but that was a howler.
  23. That own goal is absolutely shambolic from Hyam. Silly from Hedges but his chip shouldn't have cost us 2 points.
