Where’s the faith? He’s as good a chance of any of the other midfielders of starting alongside Declan Rice. The steps up to first team football v Hartlepool, Championship v Blackpool, Premier League at Palace and now International Football have all been a breeze for him so why would the Euros be any different? Personally l am very happy to see a Rovers lad doing so well, he is a joy to watch & excellent to see top quality players profiting from his forward passes and bossing of the midfield. He was wasted on Gallagher & Dolan and it would have been a crime for him to stay at this level much longer!

I think you have to look at the bigger picture with the Adam Wharton deal. £20m was a reasonable price for the club & it has allowed a Blackburn Academy product to advance his career at the very top level. That’s only going to be a positive advert for future academy recruits and if Wharton completes another season at Palace he’ll be an £80m player and we’ll get a huge cut of that. Adam Wharton is therefore the saviour of Blackburn Rovers and the future of English football!
