January Transfer Window.
Sweaty Gussets replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
We also signed Dack, Hyam, BBD, Gally, Hedges, Dolan, Kmainski, Ayala, Brittain etc It seems strange to use Edun as an example when he rarely gets in the team/match day squad and is clearly not in the managers plans. -

Tomasson stresses importance of Blackburn Rovers' transfer window | Lancashire Telegraph We haven't got much money but the Hirst wages are available for signings. Seems attack is the priority. We aren't in for Cantwell or Kilkenny. He wants signings in as soon as possible but is realistic. Can't argue with any of that and at least he's being upfront. -
Bradley Dack - Twist or Stick?

Bradley Dack would have considered his Blackburn Rovers future | Lancashire Telegraph Very honest interview with Dack. Pretty much admitting the toys had been thrown cos he wasn't getting game and that he's now taking on board what JDT wants from him on the pitch. He's still the best player at the club. Losing him would have been a bit tragic. -

It all adds up:- 'Jesus Saves' - always loved his football. You'd want to work at the home of football. You'd want to work at the best club at the home of football. You'd want complete control over football matters at the best club at the home of football. You'd have the power to create said role at a club where it's never been available before. On track to lead us back to the 'promised land' of the EPL. I once saw him walk over to the River Darwen, fill up an empty wine bottle, bless it, return and hand it to a bloke called Mercer who I overheard comment on it's 'wonderful bouquet'. He's very good friends with Victor Moses. I'm amazed there are some that don't view him as the Second Coming. Doesn't fit the narrative though does it....pfft. -

It would be a Hamer blow if we don't get him. -

If we're spending £2m on Szmodics we can afford to gamble £2m on resurrecting Cantwell's career, just as long as his injury problems aren't chronic. -
Premier League 22-23
Sweaty Gussets replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It must be a lot because qualifying alone for the group stages of the CL brings in £13m and then it's £2m for a win in the group stages. A few years of not qualifying for the CL and not sacking Potter will look a huge mistake. -

That's a rash comment. -
Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
Sweaty Gussets replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He's probably just taking the pressure off the players. Every manager does it. Unfortunately we've been scarred by 5 years of Mowbray doing it repeatedly, especially the League 1 debacle when he said he wasn't bothered about beating Wigan to the title. -

Absolute bellend not celebrating. Massively disrespectful to the Fulham fans and the club that pay his wages. -
I was only joking. I think the pressure of trying to buy the league must be getting to you. 😉

I've never heard of him either. I'll wait fir us to sign him and then wait to see him play before I call it 'embarrassing' or 'scraping the barrel ' -

Bash other fans? FFS! I merely asked if he's been written off due to the rash of comments calling it 'embarrassing' and 'scraping the barrel'. If you want to bash everything the club does though, that's the narrative for you to take. -

'scraping the barrel' and 'really embarrassing' were two of the comments I saw. -
Getting your excuses in early I see.

We're being linked with a 5'7 CM if that helps. -
Swag will be vindicated because he's brought in the most ticket revenue since the Prem days. This bit was illuminating: Responding to questions about Preston North End’s season ticket sales figure being their highest in 50 years, Waggott stated that wouldn’t necessarily equate to a higher overall revenue. He said he ‘was tasked by the club’s owners to hit certain financial targets in order to meet budgets and be able to provide the funds for a competitive first-team squad’. he's just a money-man, supporter 'experience' and a better atmosphere don't matter to him. Not his remit essentially.

LT reporting - 'The club sold just under 9,300 tickets, and an additional 409 half season tickets' Blackburn Rovers' season ticket revenue 'highest since Premier League' | Lancashire Telegraph Most ticket revenue since relegation from the Prem, so doubt there will be much reduction on next seasons prices.

Sharpe, in his report I posted above, suggests it was fairly comfortable for Valencia. Below is what he posted before the game, so a young Rovers were always going to be up against it: Valencia compete in the Segunda Federacion, which is the fourth tier of the football pyramid in Spain. They've not lost in the league since October and their form in the Premier League International Cup has been just as impressive, unbeaten in the competition so far and are yet to concede. After a 0-0 draw with Fulham, they have been Leicester City (2-0) and Wolves (1-0) to sit top of the group.
