If JDT is going to persist with playing out from the back then he needs CB's who can do it. Van Hecke would fit the bill.

We'll be the judge of that😉 I agree though, player performance has been generally poor. BBD and Hyam has been generally good, Ayala and Pickering too. Morton had a good spell, as have Gally and BBD. I can't think of anyone JDT has improved. Ironically, given the abuse Ben Benson gets from some quarters, GK is the only position that has been consistently very good.

I'm not saying he's any good but in Hirst's defence you wouldn't want to be a striker in that team. More generally, GB has it all to prove in the transfer market. I'm hoping the summer was just a desperate rush to fill the available spaces, and not indicative of the quality of player we're going to sign. Szmodics for £2m+ is baffling.
