  1. Evatt and Lowe both despised by local rival fanbases, so it could be Coyle mark II
  2. On Evatt, I don't think he's anywhere near the ilk. I think if you repeatedly can't get a club the size of Bolton (they are a local rival, but like us, they are a decently sized historic club and are actually trying to bounce back after bad owners) out of the third tier then let's be honest you're not great. He also came out with a very bizarre statement at one point saying something like "we're the best team in this division" and then got hammered at home by Wigan a few days later. No thanks
  3. Looking at that list is horrific. Gary O'Neil, Ryan Lowe, Ian Evatt... Christ. They're not even fit to take the bins out at our historic football club, never mind become the first team manager. This is gonna be an awful end to the season when Waggott auctions the role off to whoever will do it for the lowest salary. There's only two on there even remotely qualified, Cooper who looks like a Dingle and Dyche who IS a Dingle
  4. This was the first time I've listened to the podcast, a good group of hosts, I will listen going forward. Thanks for turning that round so quickly.
  5. Any appointment is going to be fairly underwhelming, I don't need to explain why. There will actually be a lot of pressure to deliver for anyone who comes in as well, because they're going to have to apply on the basis that they're the candidate to keep the team in the top six, it's a strange situation. It's not someone coming into a club in the relegation zone where they just have to stop the flow of goals and make it ugly and nick a few draws to steady the ship, someone is going to have to come in and start winning quickly or it's gonna get even more toxic. Can't say I have any hope, it's going to be a useless, journeyman, has been, venky yes-man...
  6. That's right the overwhelming feeling should be one of total embarrassment. It's what people refer to as 'tinpot'.
  7. Strangely, I don't really care who we appoint now, it doesn't really mean anything this season. The damage has already been done in January and I don't think Klopp could come back to English football and get this squad into the top six, it's paper thin, lightweight and ultimately despite all the commendable effort just won't be good enough. Eustace wasn't going to get us in there and whoever comes in won't either. It's down to poor recruitment and culture. The club is just rotten.
  8. Radio Lancs torn up the running order and apparently gonna focus on Rovers tonight, wonder how critical they're gonna be of the hierarchy... not very I don't think...
  9. I wonder what on earth the players are thinking as individuals and as a collective. Players are professionals but they aren't robots and they talk to each other and with all their other connections across the game. They must be pulling their hair out and getting all sorts of messages and calls from outside the club. It's a huge distraction before a big game on Weds and must inevitably have many of them questioning what they're doing here
  10. Classless statement, full of conjecture and smear. Imagine John Williams bashing that statement out about Hughes or Souness or whoever. Not a chance. Do they not understand that the fans are actually on the side of a manager who wants to leave because of how incompetent they are? Unbelievably tone deaf.
  11. They probably struggle to plan what's on the menu at lunch, so I have my doubts
  12. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/34651/13306020/var-controversial-fa-cup-decisions-prove-costly-so-is-football-better-with-or-without-technology Sky Sports review every dogsh*t decision in the FA Cup this weekend, except the one at Ewood Park 🧐🧐 The Venks have made us irrelevant 😂
  13. I don't think we can be particularly bitter about them either way, they have chanced their arm, we've mugged ourselves off. It could have been them or any other club with the means currently, if Coventry or Stoke had come in for him a couple of weeks back it would have been the same story. If anything, if he keeps them up it makes our owners look even more stupid and incompetent to the rest of the public (we already know).
  14. It's going to be the perfect week for Rovers fans. Albion 1-0 Rovers (Armstrong Pen) Armstrong and Mowbray all smiles and hugs at FT, we look on despairingly Plymouth buoyed by cup fever come to Ewood smelling blood in the chaos and stink out another 1-0 win.. Or maybe we beat both WBA and Argyle 3-0 😂
  15. Brains from Thunderbirds 😂😂😂😂 brilliant FAB - f*** all happening at Brockhall?
  16. I'm not really a fan of Simon Jordan overall, I disagree with a lot of his views on other topics. Although he's not really close to what has gone on at BRFC, it's worth listening to him here, playing devil's advocate and drawing his experience as a club owner (where he succeeded and then failed). It gives that neutral and measured insight in to how our esteemed CEO and COO might see, frame and spin things in the next few days Fwiw I don't agree with him, I think he's being a bit harsh on Eustace, I don't think he fully understands the extent to which a series of managers have been bare-face lied to and hung out to dry by the owners.
  17. Great article from Elliot Jackson there. The comment section on the LT makes this forum look almost normal 😂 my hunch is that it's quite a lot of Dingles under fake usernames stirring so I don't read it anymore.
  18. My overall reaction to this chaos is just one of unbelievable anger. Feel like throwing my phone out of the window. If this happens it's absolutely humiliating for us. Can anyone ever recall something like this happening in any division in English football? A manager leaving a team near the top of the league for a team at the bottom who have lost 8 out of 9 and look doomed? How on earth do the 'leadership' at the club think they could possibly explain this to fans with a straight face and assume we'll think "oh fair enough then"? Penny for their insane thoughts right now.
  19. Sean Dyche would still fancy himself to manage in the Premier League and he will probably get another chance eventually. Not sure I could take the final humiliation of him absolutely bungling it here and the glee of Clampetts down the road
  20. Am I right in thinking Rooney basically managed Plymouth for free? No one tell our owners he'll be given the job for life
  21. It makes results like Tuesday, Cov at home, Hull at home, all so incredibly galling. We could have been out of sight by now. We've missed an open net in January and that's largely down to doing our transfer business as late and cheaply as possible. Galling
  22. Bonkers that we're somehow being given another few days in the top 6 with these results (unless Bristol City win by 5 or 6 tomorrow). It's like the Make A Wish Foundation, letting us enjoy it before the inevitable
  23. Steve Cooper to do a reverse Brian Clough, get Forest promoted and then Derby following a dodgy spell elsewhere? Wonder if he told Vardy to throw his medals in the bin...
  24. I really don't think we're in the playoff picture, our form since New Year has been horrendous, we will be outside the playoffs when we next play in the league and if/when Albion beat us that will open a gap and that will be it...
