  1. I feel beaten by it. I guess you never know what's around the corner. But certainly I don't imagine circumstances changing in short to medium term.
  2. Aye. If I were a bird, I'd fly over India and shit all over venkys. Shove the league position, I don't bloody care. They've completely changed the complexion of the club.. Shitehawk Dossers FC.
  3. Oh God, absolutely. It's not a FCKING project, it's the centre of a community. It's something for like-minded souls to gather round and share in the pain and glory. Take their minds off of all their troubles by being part of something bigger. Instead we're owned by chicken botherers thousands of miles away, they take no interest, but they refuse to sell. We're being run by faces in the shadows, time servers and ring holders who don't want to rock the boat. And as a front man, we have another guy who talks about projects, marginally improving squad value while we become further indebted to our abductors Well, you can shove all that. Football is meant to be fun. And if it's not fun, then there should always be hope. Well it's not been fun for a very long time. It's dispiriting. Demoralising. Disenchanting. Demotivating. As for hope, the only hope I hold onto is somehow we get rid of these people and become a proper football club again. I still care out of loyalty, but the feeling isn't really there any more
  4. Just seen this shot of the Riverside, mind boggling
  5. Nothing we can do anyway, we're bystanders. I think it's understandable after twelve years of venky misrule that people are conditioned to expecting the worst. I don't think the position of just being coach helps. Shadowy Broughton, hovering behind, seems to be a lack of accountability. We've made some strange signings. Yes , we've had good spells. But you're only as good as your last game, and Preston gave us a doing. I remember Brian kidd when he took over saying that the club has lost its heartbeat. I think that's where we're at now. It all depends from the owners, who just do not care and that sets the tone for the whole club. I don't think tomasson is an idiot by any means, maybe he's the right man at the wrong role at the right club or the wrong man in the right role at the right club. Or the right man in the right role at the wrong club. Whatever, something just doesn't fit. The club is high up in the league, but it's clearly not telling the whole story, that's borne out by recent performances which just don't seem right. I'm sorry, the club is dysfunctional and the only people to blame for that are the absentee owners. The only time they'll get anything right is when they put the club up for sale
  6. Can't see anything other than a collapse here. Nothing is ever guaranteed, I may get a pleasant surprise. Just like I may win the lottery. The suspicion persists that the manager is undergoing some psychosis where he sees actually playing well and so persists with his gamelpan. Just about everyone else apart from the ring holders hanging on for their pension can see it though. The club is a basket case in a false position, and a freefall is imminent
  7. Another one of these geezers in the shadows, collecting a pay cheque and keeping his head below the parapet. Almost like tomasson is his patsy.
  8. It's Broughton who finds the players though
  9. You wouldn't start Kane? I must admit, mason mount don't know what it is that he does. It's a bit like James milner for me, how does he get played? I thought Henderson played well in earlier games, but last night... Didn't really notice him. But like say, how many different managers have we tried over the years. Capello,I mean you're talking about one of the all time great managers, he couldn't manage it. Although I think it would be interesting to see what he could do with this current group
  10. Their quality up front, plus a referee who seemed out of his depth I think was the difference. Seriously, that was a clear penalty and what is the point of VAR if they don't see that. But we lost, and even if we got the penalty, we may still have lost, although presumably in extra time. I don't see the point in getting rid of Southgate. Everyone was on his back after the nation's league. We don't have a an automatic right to win just because we're England. We've tried all sorts of managers over the years, but have continually fallen short.
  11. I think when they get rid of a manager it has nothing whatsoever to do with results. If you criticise them in any way, you're on borrowed time,I think that's the more likely situation. What you have to hope for is that he gets frustrated and starts publicly criticising them. I thought right from the outside that this first team coach, director of football set-up was a mistake. If results go badly, tomasson can blame it on the quality of recruitment, and Broughton can blame it on the coaching. It's all about getting your excuses in and building up your pension pot. On this current trajectory, Burnley are going to whip us. That may be enough to make him walk unless he had a thick hide, because he'll have lost the fans then
  12. NFG I know. No flipping good BFI I know. British film institute BFG. BIG FRIENDLY GIANT. NFI. National farmers institute?
  13. Father Mccree, you have it in one. "Security? The word's become a bloody joke!"
  14. Pall Mall Gazette noted that their followers were "a northern horde of uncouth garb and strange oaths".
  15. A white shirt with a blue Maltese cross on it? (rofl) The centenary shirt? Perhaps not.
  16. Mark Hughes??
  17. Any chance of another run for those who missed it?
  18. Yeah, he was a GAA man for Dub.
  19. Was talking to an Irish mate about Kevin. We agreed he was as hard as nails. He played a major role in getting Rovers out of what was the old second division. I think we all remember the goal against Derby in the play-off semi. For sheer bravery, it's difficult to match. I think he was one of those players that had great assurance in his play, you never worried about the man. Two points: - am I right in thinking that we signed him on a free transfer? If so, have we ever made a better free signing? And two, have we ever had a harder player? John McNamee perhaps?
  20. Who's being a misery? Sunday was a depressing experience, even if I wasn't able to see the game. I can't understand what the manager's up to, but what do I know? It's not like I have any influence on it whatsoever. Not beating Burnley since 2010 though, that stings. Question for Jon -- if I give you the money, can you make Venky's sell up? Ta.
  21. Losing 1-0 at home to Leicester in our promotion season was painful to watch. I can still see Russell's goal in my mind's eye, Bloody agony. For some reason what really stands out is the image of some young lad stood on top of the railing at the top of the stairs to see the game. I remember thinking if I tried that I'd break my neck. Funny the things you remember.
