  1. I think he was asking for a little civility, you don't need to take note of his opinions if you don't want to. Or maybe you were just exchanging an opinion with him? In fact I'd be surprised if you needed to take note of anyone's opinion since you seem to know it all already.
  2. What do you mean, "how so?" you great dingbat? Thugs out-numbering innocent by-standers and giving them a thumping, all because of a football match, does that not strike you as animalistic behaviour?
  3. It was an eyewitness report on the BBC that 1 West Ham fan was being battered by 12 Millwall. I have a mate who is a West Ham fan who filled me in about them using coins.
  4. There were apparently at least 12 Millwall "supporters" surrounding one West Ham fan, battering him, using coins between their fingers. Sickening. These people are animals.
  5. Just watched Celebrity Wife Swap just now with Big Ron and Tessa Sanderson. It'sd obviously a very sore point with him. You get the feeling he thinks he can't win. If he tries to do some suitable work in the community people will think he's only doing it to make amends, that if he didn't need to do some atonement, he wouldn't be doing it. And will he only be remembered for that one comment? And not for his ground-breaking work bringing through black players into the English game. Just think it's a shame, that's all.
  6. Regardless of his goal stats (how many of those were pens?) his application has to be called into question. We can't be playing some fat git who isn't capable of lasting 90 minutes. The guy has to knuckle down again. I don't see any clubs sniffing around him these days. The theory that he can't get his stamina back cos he's 30 is hysterical.
  7. OK, for the avoidance of doubt rover6, can you please explicitly detail why Taylor was treated badly by Hughes. I'm genuinely intrigued.
  8. None of which you can personally justify having only ever seen Taylor play u-19 football for England on the telly. In fact, I'm not even sure what these reasons are. Presumably because he was a youth player for us that should mean he gets special treatment?
  9. This just killed me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xym6hEJb1W4&NR=1
  10. I liked him, and very sad to see him go. Good, solid player.
  11. Newcastle have really had tehir money's worth out of him, haven't they?
  12. Very well said mate. decency is coming a poor second to win at all costs.
  13. QUOTE (Ste B @ May 5 2009, 20:26 ) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> RIP The real Captain Chaos. Dom DeLuise Dies Might just dig out the Cannonball Run DVD later didn't know he was seventy-five! they're re-making "The Taking of Pelham 123", why? You can't improve on the original!
  14. absolutely right. Given Barton's history (starting on a young everton fan, stubbing a cigar out in someone's eye, jumping on Dabo), there's no Earthly way it could've been foreseen that he'd kick off in Liverpool at 4am in the morning. He was just as likely to do that as to join a peace protest. He strikes me as a thug who can't control his emotions and is only happy for a bit of aggro if teh odds are in his favour.
  15. It's in the Mail that he will try to see out his contract at Newcastle, all three years of it. Newcastle will try to terminate his contract by alleging gross misconduct, but I'd wager they'll have a tough time getting him out.
  16. pontifications? i don't wanna be Pope, I just don't wanna thug playing for me. And what's wrong with valid criticism? I think the man's a liability, why can't I say that without having to be forced to give alternatives? Is that what the approach is? Either give an alternative to Barton or be happy with us potentially signing him? Nonsense. he spends 25% of his time in prison, 25% in the treatment room, 25% suspended and 25% on the pitch. How can he be valued at 5-7m? Nonsense. i wouldn't buy him for tuppence ha'penny.
  17. Yeah, I reckon he's over-rated as well. He's hardly a cross between robbie Savage and Glenn Hoddle. he'll always cause trouble and disruption. What a disaster of a signing he would be.
  18. for those who think he's good, what particular skills is he good at? Does he pick a good pass, can he beat his man, has he got good awareness, has he got a good long-range shot on him, does he close down well ... ? 'Cos fromw hat I've seen he's bang average and just runs around a lot.
  19. yeah, he's a regular tough guy, alright! he's obviously got a very hard time controlling his emotions. He must be running out of chances now.
  20. is he actually *any* good?
  21. You can't really mis-interpret a V-sign. I'm so glad he's not our problem any more.
  22. Always makes me laugh this, go on Franny!
  23. He does an absolutely superb take-off of Tony Blair in "The Queen". he's an excellent imitator of tics and wotnot. Saw "Quantum of Solace" on DVD this week. With a second viewing teh film's grown on me a bit. Still think it goes too far down teh Bourne route. And one thing I don't understand. Near the beginning Mitchell escapes, so Bond chases him. Why does he bother to chase Mitchell when he should've hung onto mr White, surely he'd be of more value?
  24. Martin Sheen, Paul? Can't quite imagine him playing Clough. Apart from that, and getting the title wrong, no worries.
  25. What an oaf: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5r5k7faX7c...re=channel_page
