  1. McGuire was a big gamble but at least he would have been another body in the squad. Anything happens to Gally, who’s not exactly a stranger to the treatment room, and we’re in real trouble.
  2. If you took it to ITV with a view to making a sit com out of the story they’d laugh you out of the room .
  3. Yeah, it wasn’t the greatest interview I’ve ever heard. Not in the Mowbray ( talk a glass eye to sleep ) class but a bit low key. Let’s hope he’s better out on the training pitch and in the dug out.
  4. If I was the head honcho regarding transfers, after last years balls up, there would be no way that I would be letting anyone else do the job.
  5. The ball can go faster than anybody running with it.
  6. A few years ago Johnno would have been a good shout for the managers job here. He seems to have fallen by the wayside and been tarred with the Mowbray brush.
  7. He’s as good as we could have got as far as I can see. He’s got his hands full with the squad he’s inherited. As I said the other day - too many chiefs and not enough indians in the camp.
  8. He obviously knows where the goals are as well.
  9. Yeah, he won the old First division championship with Ipswich under Alf Ramsey.
  10. Big Louie. I remember seeing him at Rochdale after he left Rovers. He dived full length into a really sandy goal mouth for a diving header. I was right behind the goals. I saw him pick the chewing gum up that had come out of his mouth and put it back in his mouth ! RIP Roy, I never saw him play although he was Bryan Douglas’s understudy for several seasons.
  11. Don’t mention the “ C” word on here, you’ll have Gav on your case.
  12. Really ? After a dozen years of abject failure !
  13. I liked Sam, he did a great job at Bolton and he was on the way to doing a great job at Rovers. I knew we were in big trouble the day they sacked him. Having said that I think he’s had his day to be honest. The game has moved on. Would he have kept us up - maybe, maybe not. He couldn’t keep WBA in the Prem.
  14. Forest were struggling at the time.
  15. Back when I had to clear dinosaur shit off the pitch before we could kick off the tactical mantra was - weigh up the skill set of your players, see what they are good at individually and collectively. Then design your pattern of play around that. Don’t come in with a preordained way of playing and shoehorn the players into it. I suspect JDT made that mistake, ultimately lost the goodwill of the players, and has paid the price for it.
  16. That was happened way before JDT walked through the door. Having said that he made no impression that particular problem.
  17. The Electric Prunes - Get Me To The World On Time
  18. Duster Bennett - It’s A Man Down There
  19. His major bollock was trusting the Chicken Chokers to finance a team to football our way out of this division. They were never going to cough up enough money to buy the players you need for that approach. Now he’s left us with a knife going into a relegation gun fight.
  20. Richard Berry And The Pharaohs- Louie, Louie
  21. However given his choices will be Leonard, Vale and Telavic or whatever he’s called he may jump at anybody with some actual ability.
  22. That’s the problem. He could be a defensive mastermind but we haven’t got enough real defenders on the books.
  23. How much would that cost do you think ?
