  1. I think Tony would rather play Buckley at right back before he’d throw either of JRC or The Godfather of Soul in on Saturday
  2. I’ve been thinking about that ever since that game. I think the conditions didn’t help us but having said that we may get similar conditions again before the end of the season. We need a plan B for games like that. When we’ve played our football for 60-70 minutes and it’s not working. We need a game changer. I’d have been tempted to bring Ayala on and stick Van Hecke up front and see how they dealt with a bit of ale house style football. Failing that we need a Berkovic/Bohinen type of player who can open doors. A more experienced/crafty version of Buckley that can come on a give us a good 30 minutes of subtlety in the last third.
  3. I know they usually go together but it’s not just winning football, it’s entertaining football.
  4. He’s still poor in the air for me. He can’t get off the ground very well and where the ball goes when he does make contact is any bodies guess. I’ve played with amateur players that were 10 times better at heading the ball. I agree regarding the one on one, he’s terrific in that respect.
  5. If you think his heading has improved you are seeing something I’m not. If he could head the ball he’d be a candidate for playing on the right hand side of a back three.
  6. With the right coaching I agree with you. He’s stood still at Rovers.
  7. I don’t think JRC is ready fitness wise and if we’re going to play Gallagher at least play him up the middle instead of out on the wing.
  8. Supposedly, if you believe the daily papers. He’s a top class player but is he the man for a relegation scrap ?
  9. I’m expecting that any daughter of mine would have more sense. It’s not a question of me stopping her. Once said daughter is over 18 it’s obviously up to her.
  10. Well if I had a daughter he wouldn’t be marrying her. He’s obviously got real anger management problems that he should have got sorted out years ago.
  11. I’d a soft spot for Joey Barton. I once saw him playing for City at Wigan and he absolutely played them on his own and won. Under rated as a footballer.
  12. You need a Joey Barton or even a Robbie Savage type. Somebody who’ll gee things up on and off the pitch.
  13. Yes he’s a good player. I used to drink with his headteacher. He was at a school in Bury who’s name I can’t recall. He told me about him when he was a kid at City. Smashing lad apparently.
  14. I can’t see them playing Hill much this season. He must be one for the future surely.
  15. I’m not sure a Ramsey is what you need. I rate him very highly as a player but does he want to get involved in a dogfight ?
  16. If we need to go the ale house football route we could bring Ayala on and put the Flying Dutchman up front. He’ll put himself about !
  17. I can’t see Tony going for him if he turns up dressed like that.
  18. Sunglasses, phone, wallet, note book, Covid masks, comb ( yeah I still need one ) .
