  1. Where’s Big Dog these days ? He usually gave Irish players his seal of approval.
  2. Now we’ve finally got a team that’s prepared to work any players that come in will have to be willing to graft as well. No big time Charlie’s. Berkovic was a class act but he worked as hard as anybody to get on the ball.
  3. They used to play around injured players in rugby league. The trainer could come on to attend to the player but the game carried on unless it was a really serious injury. No point faking injury then.
  4. That’s a good signing. He’ll make waves at our level.
  5. Last nights goal was a classic example. A miss control of the ball turns into a really good dummy and he’s through in on goal. “ When you’re hot you’re hot”.
  6. It’s been his best season so far. Maybe playing in a back 3 suits him.
  7. In an ideal world if we got £25 million for him we could probably replace him at a level sufficient to get us out of this division. The problem with that argument is 1) Would we see any of the money. 2) If we did get a few quid from the fee would Tony blow the dosh on another Galllagher ?
  8. Did your late grandad ever live in Bacup ? A friend of my dad’s took me to my first Rovers game back in the day. He was called Jack Clough, I think he was an accountant.
  9. Rochdale would have brought more than Barnsley for a game like that. It’d be their Cup Final.
  10. I agree. I could have made that pass now in my slippers. It was that obvious. I like the lad though, it won’t be long before bigger clubs start taking an interest.
  11. Excellent Tony. Lenihan must be way in front of the players league table by now.
  12. Barker had a thing that’s really hard to teach. The ability to turn away from trouble and into space.
  13. You’ve got to play the percentages. Brererton may or may not have scored from that position, If Dolan would have missed from a pass in his position it would have been the miss of the season.
  14. It’s really worrying. I have a couple of friends who are younger than I am that have gone so full on “ down the rabbit hole “ to the point I rarely contact them.
  15. Some interesting thoughts there. Martin Kettle has an article in a similar vein in today’s “ Guardian “.
  16. That miss was Armstrong all over. Dolan had made a great run and would have had a tap in if Diaz had passed him the ball.
  17. JFK wasn’t shot on live television Mike.
  18. Yeah and I hope we don’t start messing around with the formation and the line up again if and when we do lose.
  19. Yeah, bringing Gallagher on instead of Dolan was worryingly old Tony.
  20. I’d have brought Dolan on for Khadra. Like for like swap. The only way I’d have played Gallagher is if Diaz had to come off.
  21. He might be wearing them so he can be picked out quicker when you can’t get your head up. One team I played for the playmaker always had to wear his shirt outside his shorts for the same reason.
  22. We need to start off at a high tempo, get our foot on their necks, and keep it there. If we start tip tapping it around the the back line and let them play themselves in we could be in for a tough evening. They won’t be coming to admire our football.
