  1. Exactly, he wanted to play a system without signing the players to do so.
  2. Looks like he could fill in on the right wing as well.
  3. That’s the chances you take when you loan a City player I suppose.
  4. He must have been near to -17 in the game against Hull. He was completely ineffectual then.
  5. Yes, that sub appearance was really disappointing. He’s had a back injury that kept him out for a couple of years. I had a back injury that affected me when playing but that was after 60 minutes or so. I’d be fine when I came on at first. So no excuses there. I was really impressed when I first saw him play. I even thought to myself “ we’ve got another David Speedie here “. Since then I haven’t seen much of that.
  6. If he played like that every week there wouldn’t be a problem. He was really poor against Hull.
  7. It’s significant that a club playing at Burton’s level don’t appear to want him back.
  8. That’s the first time I’ve seen him play his weight in the air and he’s 6ft 4 inches tall. He must have read what was being said about him on here !
  9. Thanks for that Tony. The stats bear out a lot of my thoughts. Is Gallaghers 29 a record ?
  10. It must be a very expensive way of running the show.
  11. You only have to watch the majority of officials from other nations to see we’ve fallen behind.
  12. No, I think that might have been Alf Wood. According to the records he scored 4 headers and a pen ! He died from dementia a few years ago. That was the low point in my life as a Rovers fan.
  13. That’s the guy. He was seriously rapid.
  14. I can see the logic behind Mowbray’s thinking, it was like having a fourth centre half in front of the normal three.
  15. I remember watching that Bournemouth team. They were really good at that level. They had two flying wingers, Harry Redknapp ( yes, that Harry, he could play ) and a lad called Alan Groves who was amazing. He had it all but he could be a bit naughty. Should have played at top level. He later moved to Blackpool after a spell at Oldham. He died very young of a heart attack just after signing for Blackpool, during a bout of horizontal jogging allegedly.
  16. Yes, one aspect of club policy that as actually improved.
  17. I’ve seen them several times at Rochdale in the old Div 4.
  18. Last night was Gallagher’s best game for quite a while.
  19. And Fred scored a hat trick on his debut for Everton. Next game up - Rovers at Ewood, Everton won 2-1.
  20. I think they took Khadra off because he’d got a slight injury. He’d gone on a long sprint almost immediately after the restart.
  21. Yes that’s what makes the system work.
  22. Tell him he was playing for us last night. ‘Boro weren’t quite at the races after the re start.
