Say what you want about Lawrenson but he was a class act as a defender. -
All part of Tony’s master plan.

If they don’t back us now they never will. It’s as simple as that really. -
We used to have a saying - “ You need to win at United to get a draw “.

Maybe we need a plan B for the strikers when the “ false centre forward “:plan isn’t working. -

Not a position we’re looking to strengthen unfortunately. When you’ve got Ayala on the bench. -
Under the old rules the offside would have been immediately obvious.
-
Good footballing centre half. Not the finished article yet but one for the future.

I could understand us taking him on loan in the first place but signing him after the injuries he had was foolish. Having said that he did have a very noisy fan club at the time.

I don’t know mate but as far as I could see he penalised the Villa player for his involvement with Cavani in back play as the free kick was taken. Watkins didn’t touch the ball on it’s way through so Ings couldn’t be off side and Ings put the ball in with his thigh and not his hand.

Best team lost. United are shapeless at the moment.
-
Nobody. They disallowed it for a collision in back play.
-
He’s looking good.

I always thought it was better to say things like that as you were walking off the pitch at the end of the game. -
It’s like when the Aussies used to play the county sides in between test matches. If one of the county sides had a young batsman who the papers we’re bigging up for a test debut you could bet your house he’d get a big century against them. Followed by a couple of single figure scores in the next test ! It worked every time.

It’s in the Telegraph apparently.

Newcastle want Chris Wood from Burnley apparently. I can’t see it myself.

You’re dead right. Go on any other clubs message board and you’ll see similar complaints about their own fans. It seems to have got a lot worse over the last couple of years. -

Pears yesterday reminded me of Peter Bonetti for England in that famous World Cup game against the Germans many years ago. Peter was a really top class goalkeeper but he went to pieces after he dived over a shot he should thrown his cap on. After that his game fell apart and he let two more poor goals in. -
