  1. Lots of things have caused me to lose significant interest in the club but Mowbray and the football being played are top of the list. Have we ever played well for a full 90 minutes in all the time he’s been here ? Even when we were running away with it in the promotion season most games contained 45 minutes of dross. People aren’t going to pay good money to watch rubbish like last nights first half when it’s on TV.
  2. We had our chance when we got promoted. We’d 25,000 plus on for the final game of the season. Then you get the manager waffling on about bringing a few squad players in to “ help out “ the existing players. It was obvious the existing team wasn’t good enough to get a second promotion. A couple of high profile signings would have made all the difference. I’ve said it lots of times before but I would have fired Mowbray at that point. Absolutely not the manager to take us to the next stage. We stuck with him and look where we are now. More. or less back where we were when he came in and he’s lost us 5,000 or 6,000 fans with his dog shit football.
  3. I was at that game. We lost 2-1 with Speedie scoring, it was big money signing Stuart Munro’s only game for us. I think that sealed Don McKay’s fate.
  4. Don’t forget it was also live on SKY TV. Having said that you don’t have to look any further than the manager for the main reason why people are staying away. He’s over stayed his welcome by at least a couple of seasons.
  5. Not many tacklers in that team, or goal scorers.
  6. If we can lose at home to Morecambe we can lose to anybody in this league.
  7. It’s a good time to get to the top in women’s tennis. They aren’t many other outstanding players at the moment. The top bunch all seem to be able to lose to each other.
  8. Yeah, they made out like nobody else had ever bought a top player.
  9. “ Fever Pitch” brought back some memories tonight. I was expecting us not to get the credit for winning the League and the programme didn’t let me down in that respect.
  10. Graham LeSaux had a really bad one, possibly worse than Elliot’s and he came back.
  11. Michael Holding is on Desert Island Discs today.
  12. She’ll be made for life after tonight’s win.
  13. I remember somebody on here that was trying to tell me he was a good header of the ball when we re-signed him. My view then was he was a 6’ 3” guy that jumped about 5’ 10”. What do they do in training ?
  14. I wasn’t his greatest fan Jim but I must admit he could strike a ball.
  15. They also had Harper who played for us a couple of seasons ago playing in midfield. They paid big money for him.
  16. Yes, what a clean striker of the ball he was. Most of those aren’t teed up, he just hits the ball as it comes to him. Testament to the hours of practice he must have put in as a young man.
  17. Sterling will never be world class until he develops a football brain. How many times did he lose the ball trying to take on one man too many last night ?
  18. Their goal showed the advantage of getting to the by line and putting in an early cross. If that had have been Sterling he would have tried to beat another defender and the chance would have gone.
  19. He comes across as a very humble and level headed guy. Two great feet, all those years of practice paid off for him, he was genuinely two footed. You can’t say that about lots of players today.
  20. We didn’t create one real goal scoring chance in 90 minutes. The Kane goal was a bolt from the blue from 35 yards out. We had plenty of ball but the Poles were happy to let us play in front of them, we just kept running up blind alleys out wide. I take my red, white and blue glasses off when I watch England.
  21. It never went anywhere though. They just passed it around until they lost the ball.
  22. Mount ? I’d forgotten he was playing in the second half.
  23. Too much walking football at the end. If you’re walking with the ball and they’re running - 8 times out of 10 they’ll come away with the ball. I thought Sterling had a nightmare, he must have lost possession every time he had the ball.
