  1. Mount ? I’d forgotten he was playing in the second half.
  2. Too much walking football at the end. If you’re walking with the ball and they’re running - 8 times out of 10 they’ll come away with the ball. I thought Sterling had a nightmare, he must have lost possession every time he had the ball.
  3. I don’t like this midfield, we’ve nobody who can run with it or pass it more than 15 yards in the centre. If you’re playing Rice and Phillips then Mount has to do a lot more, he’s not been in the game.
  4. The Chicken Chokers and their apologists should be made to sit down and watch this series. So they can see just what they’ve destroyed. It wouldn’t do Mowbray any harm to watch it either.
  5. I remember listening to the game on the radio and looking at my watch towards the end of that Utd v Sheffield Wed game. That’s when “ Fergie Time “ was invented.
  6. Just watched “ Fever Pitch - The Rise Of The Premier League “. Very interesting.
  7. I try and avoid reading or listening to anything he says but whenever I’ve heard anything recently he sounds like a man who know’s he’s on the way out.
  8. I can’t see that happening.
  9. Or do we need one more than we do a striker ?
  10. The thought went through my mind - what if he’d have scored a goal after 5 minutes ? Does he go the rest of the game on a yellow card ? Southgate needs to have a word with him.
  11. I think you’re right about the lack of a top class playmaker. If we had a Gazza or even a Scholes we would look a much better team. Playing Rice and Phillips in midfield will beat the likes of Hungary etc but they won’t beat the very best. Let’s hope one of our younger players develop into that role. Foden maybe ?
  12. I thought he was skating on thin ice with that tackle that brought the yellow card. That would have been a red in the Prem.
  13. Much better second half, could have easily been 6-0. If that had have been Shearer up front instead of Kane he would have had the match ball.
  14. Very scrappy game tonight. Rice and Phillips in the same midfield = dull football. Mount not in the game, Sterling trying hard but no end product. No shots on target so far.
  15. I rated him in the past but at 36 it’s a season too far I think.
  16. I’m all for this return to 1960’s style football. Two wingers and two strikers up the front. Tony’s a master strategist bringing back 4-2-4. Just watch, they’ll all be playing this way by Xmas.
  17. I used to go to games with a pal who was a scout for City back in the day. We’d gone watching a centre half but another player caught my eye. So I wrote to the club about a left back I’d seen playing for Orient at Rochdale. He had it all and he was only a kid. He was called Denis Rofe, look him up, went on to play for Leicester in the old First Division and England at U-23 level I think. The club chief scout wrote back to thank me but saying “ the player was already contracted to the Leyton Orient Club “ . I gave up after that.
  18. He doesn’t know what he’s looking for because he still doesn’t know what system he wants to play. So he doesn’t know wether he wants a conventional full back or a wing back.
  19. Well after signing Bell, Hart, Cunningham, Douglas, Pickering, the new lad ? - I’m starting to wonder just what he’s looking for in a left back.
  20. Spending £ 5 or 6 million on a striker doesn’t mean we’re going to get one either as past experience as proven. Give me the resources our scouting team has at their disposal and for £1 million I’d find us a better left back than either of the two lads in question.
  21. I might just be me but rather than signing two left backs for £500,000 each I’d rather just have one for £1,000,000.
  22. Roversfan99 seems to think he’s a winger. There appears to be some confusion here.
