Mowbray, Venus, Waggott and all the other chancers that have feasted on the body of Blackburn Rovers FC are just a symptom of the disease. What is really killing the club is the wilful neglect of the owners. No if’s but’s or maybe’s.

Surely one of Pickering or Edun can switch to right back on a temporary basis. Not ideal I know but it must be better than a centre half ( Carter or Magloire ) or a midfield player ( Buckley ).

I think McCarthy has had his day. There must be better options out there.

I got the impression from what Mowbray said that Ayala hadn’t mentioned it until yesterday at half time.

We aren’t happy with our “ head coach “ either but PNE will do something about it.

Mowbray was on the radio saying Ayala had been feeling discomfort in his calf for a week or two. He’s sending him for a scan on Monday. That doesn’t sound promising.

I’m never disappointed when Rovers win. He wouldn’t have gone even if we’d have lost.

What is the book about ? I’d probably be interested in adding a book to my small Rovers library. Something for my wife to buy me at Christmas.

If that remark is true what amazes me is the players hadn’t lost faith in him years ago.

It was pretty obvious that once Raya had gained a bit of maturity and cut out the un forced errors he would develop into a top class player. Some of the saves he made were out of this world.

At the end of the day the object of the exercise in signing players is to get us out of this division. Anything else is a waste of time and money. Both of those things are now in short supply. We’re no longer a club that can invest big money in “ project “ signings.

I used to get my copy from the Boulevard and then read it from cover to cover on the bus back to Rochdale.

It was still the “ Last Sports “ and on white paper when I was buying it. I was playing on Saturdays myself in the mid to late 1960’s so the only time I could get to Ewood in that era would be for night matches.

The reports Alf did back then ( before your time I presume ? ) were more of a detailed play by play account starting with who kicked off and which way Rovers were playing. IE Rovers kicked off attacking the Darwen End. Alf then gave you a running account of who did what as the game evolved. Today’s reports are more of a general summary of what happened.
