  1. Johnny Johnson And The Bandwagon - Breaking Down The Walls Of Heartache
  2. It’s fans forum not a job interview. Blokes answer what they want to answer.
  3. I hope they get Southgate, they’ll be back playing at Ewood before long.
  4. The Axe put in one of the best passes I’ve ever seen at Ewood Park but normally it was a 10 yard pass to somebody better. This was a diagonal 75 yard ball from the edge of our penalty area right into Pedersen’s stride on the edge of our opponents penalty area, inch perfect, Tugayesque.
  5. If I had to put it into a sentence it would be - “ He doesn’t do enough often enough for me “.
  6. We haven’t got any “ villains “ we just have some players that are better than others. There’s nobody at the club I have a downer on. I’m not a big Hedges fan, certainly not as a starter. He’s what I call a “ bits and pieces “ player. He can run a bit, pass it a bit, put the occasional tackle in, score the odd goal, win headers from time to time, put in a dribble now and again. But he’s not outstanding at any facet of the game. Plus for a big guy he’s not particularly robust or physical. He’s playing regularly now because options are limited. He’s not a top 6 side player. I anticipate him being a regular starter from the bench in the future because he can play in several positions.
  7. That’s interesting. I alway thought that previously to this season most teams kept going against us even when they were losing because they thought we were vulnerable to conceding at the end of games. They saw we had a glass jaw so to speak, I think we are on the way to getting rid of that label at the moment.
  8. If things are still going well after Xmas I think he’ll deserve a belated present. I’m impressed so far.
  9. The people running the show need to think long and hard about how many games are being ruined by red cards being handed out for fouls that would have just been a free kick not that long ago. I pay to see 11 play 11. I’ve been to plenty of end to end exciting games that have been spoiled as a spectacle by soft sendings off.
  10. Once they signed Clarke Sammi was history as far as being a regular starter goes. The further he goes from the firing line the more he becomes ineffectual. He’ll be back playing in the Champ one way or another next season. Sadder, wiser and richer.
  11. How long is he going to dine out on that goal at Watford for ? What about the howler he missed at Leicester in the Cup and the least said about Preston away the better.
  12. That’s his biggest failing, he want’s that extra touch too often. That’s what made Sammi the threat he became in and around the penalty area. He just took the minimum of touches to set himself up for a shot or a pass.
  13. He’s taken a look at what we’ve got player wise and set the team up accordingly. Not like some managers who insist on playing a certain way irrespective of the skill set of the squad.
  14. Baby Washington - That’s How Heartaches Are Made
  15. Jonathan Wilson has a good article in today’s paper. It’s about the Ipswich v Villa game today. He contrasts it with the last time the two teams met at top level 40 years ago. He’s unhappy about the way the modern game has developed regarding the treatment of fans. This bit is interesting - “ ( That season ) Villa used a record low of 14 players; this season they had used more than that by the 74th minute of their opening game.”
  16. I’m “ old skool “ so I thought the sending off was harsh. Younger fans who are used to red cards coming out in every game will obviously differ. I also thought the ref got us out of jail at the end when Batth got caught in possession. I’d describe both decisions as “ home town “ decisions, away teams rarely get them Regarding your earlier comments on Hedges, his life at left back was made a lot easier given they were down to 10 players.
  17. Maybe he’s trying to boost the lads confidence. Some of us know there’s a player, he just needs to show it when he gets the chance. Trav will be missing before too long, who’ll play there then Baker ? Or Buckley
  18. We’ve got the beginnings of a real team not a collection of players.
  19. I don’t know who Blackpool have got.
  20. Just listening to the chat on the radio about Steve Bruce and Blackpool. He’s got two strikers up front, two wingers on their stronger sides , 4-4-2 ! The man’s a dangerous radical.
  21. I like how he looks after players and appears to keep them as happy as he can.
  22. Both of the fullbacks were at fault for the really good chance they missed early on. Carter got done on the outside for the winger to put the long cross in initially and Pickering was fast asleep ball watching to allow their guy to put the ball back across goal for the striker to nearly open the scoring. I’ll excuse Carter because he’s not really a full back but things like that happen too often with Pickering.
  23. Good to see somebody having a pop from distance into a crowded goalmouth. How many times have you seen a deflected goal on the end of it.
  24. Yeah, let’s not rush him.
