  1. Decent form and no work for many helps too. A good performance can easily swell the boxing day crowd further, fingers crossed.
  2. There was a stream of people getting tickets for both Wigan and Huddersfield when I was picking my Huddersfield tickets up this afternoon. They're now rock bottom too, let's inflict further damage
  3. Dack will 100% start and I'm almost certain he's gonna score too, he'll be chomping at the bit after sitting out last week. A whole heap of expectation, an inflated crowd hopefully with the prices and many folk probably already off work and school. This is THE biggest test to date this season to see if we've turned a corner and can handle the pressure of being favourites and rolling a team over that we really should do on paper. I'm looking forward to it but still in the back of my mind there's that horrible feeling it's a 'typical rovers' type game that anyone who's supported us for many years no doubt has! Let's banish those thoughts for good and put Wigan well and truly to the sword. COYB
  4. Makes no sense, Williams has performed better in the middle than at left back - although Tosin & Lenihan are undoubtedly our strongest pairing. Any centre half we sign, be it on loan or permanent will need to accept they are coming in as backup/injury cover. Left back I'm not sure, will he stick with Downing and Bell as back up? If we're signing a keeper he needs to be an immediate, experienced upgrade.
  5. This is just descending into tittle-tattle about winning league one rather than Mondays game ?
  6. Wigan have won twice away in like 30 games or something in the league, last time being Leeds away last season and prior to that when they beat Stoke first game of last season I think. I'd be amazed if we crumble against them, we're beating much, much better teams than them lately. I know football can be a funny old game but we ain't losing against that lot no chance.
  7. Samuel and Davenport have been crocks more than anything, he can't really do much about them getting injured. I'd forgot about Whittingham to be honest, pretty much everyone was happy with that signing at the time though it just didnt work out.
  8. How many flops has Mowbray actually signed? Caddis Gladwin Maybe Bell up until he rolled his sleeves up and played a blinder yesterday. Chapman I really dunno about, he was class when here first time around but God knows what's going on with him now. I get people will say Brereton but until he plays regularly as a striker it's unfair. Apart from that he hasn't done too bad has he?
  9. I'd say 5 signings and we'd be able to compete, and that would be doable with the cash injection. Theres no massive gulf between the championship and bottom half of the premiership I don't think, I've seen some really poor teams this season. We are however still walking an injury tightrope this season massively. Both centre halves have previous for picking up injuries and if either, or God forbid both got injured we'd have big problems again. Every other position I think we can cope to be fair.
  10. Wigan haven't won away all season, although we do have a habit of ending runs like that I honestly can't see anything other than an emphatic home win.
  11. Cool Or just admit you fucked up and didnt know it was a bank holiday, take your pick
  12. That anyone with a decent job doesn't need to book ot off
  13. And tbf the gaffer gets credit for it, if you get your chance, grasp it, and fair to say they did
  14. Probably never said this before but Hold your breath Wait a bit more Motm was amari bell
  15. Can't remember feeling this kinda buzz for a long long time about the rovers. Tinker man 1, everyone else 0 I did say the changes would be enforced but we looked fit as fiddles today and competed none stop. God help Wigan, they're getting absolutely panned.
  16. I get why he won it, Leeds have been great. BUT our Tony for me is manager on the month hands down. As I type this, Leeds conceded too the shithawks
  17. Not wishing to jinx things but fair play Bell today, looked decent
  18. Well it's not really is its we folded before half time last season
  19. I don't completely dislike it. Players were blowing last game and blatantly we needed a few changes. Maybe a few too many but hey ho. I'm the most publicised Brereton fan but hes wasted out wide if that's how we line up.
  20. Unfortunately I think the changes will be enforced really. This game is a bit of a pest, we need to get it out the way and then rest up. Holtby should be given time to shine and I honestly can see him playing Bell today.
  21. Good point all being told. It's a tough tough league and we ain't gonna win every game, or indeed play well every game. Picking up points when off the boil helps though. WBA scraped a win at woeful Wigan, Bristol City got beat off Milwall, Fulham off them clowns down the road. One last push on Saturday then a good few days off to recharge the old batteries, its come at a good time really.
  22. Quite surprised, but happy at the team news, especially after we took an extended squad down. In fairness I wouldn't have been completely against a few changes tonight. If they're staying down there till the weekend a bit of light training tomorrow and match prep on Friday shouldn't be too strenuous!
